My prediction: Brown takes it (written Monday night @ 6:30 PST).
Followup: the Demorats do their best to ensure he is seated in sufficient time to NOT cast a vote regarding ObamaKare. Pushing ObamaKare is a priority; seating an enemy at the table — what Mr Obama called non-partisanship — is not.
Oh my, is this going to stir the pot. Particularly after Our Hero lobbied personally in the state.

  1. BZ,
I does look good. The second thing you say causes two different reactions in me. One, I don’t want that crap to happen, but then do I? If they did this the wrath of Americans may sweep the whole bunch of them out. I don’t feel very good about most of the Repubs, and my fear is they’ll throw away this opportunity and go on a spending spree if they do get the majority. Not much trust here.

  2. David: you know, every once in a while you wonder just when the Worm Turns? This might be a quite pivotal point in the year 2010.

LOT: and you bring up any number of most EXCELLENT points, the likes of which I plan to address in an upcoming post! Great minds do in fact think similarly.

  3. Pelosi said no matter what happens in Massachusetts, we will have health care.

I received an email asking for people to come to Massachusetts, all expenses paid, to mind the polls. I don’t know who is doing the paying, but I assume the Republican party. They are expecting huge fraud, and believe the “watch” must go on for days.

I hope your prediction is correct, and it looks like it will be. If it is, the issue of not swearing him in is HUGE, and passing health care with reconcilliation is HUGE. They will be in schizee up to their chins. Of course, they are used to it. Their sensitivity to schizee has been dead for a few years now.

  4. I have heard them say there is no need for a second Senate vote if the House will approve it as is with no further modifications. In it’s present form I don’t like the bill, but am hoping it passes and can be tweaked later. Without the Public Option there will be no cost control. You basically are maintaining the status quo with the execption of mandating that everybody must buy insurance. It’s a gift to the big insurance companies, IMHO. I think we both don’t like it for the exact opposite reasons.

  5. Tim: it’s an abortion on toast and it needs to be stopped and destroyed. There is LITTLE if ANY true thought given to the bill. Little if any REFLECTION. Little if any consideration for “unintended consequences.”

  6. I hope you are right about your prediction also. This Obamascare bill needs to be defeated. It will take away our liberty and freedom as we know it today and yes, there is a death panel, its just hidden within the bill and not named specifically that. This is about saving costs instead of making sure everyone gets health care. And , the first people to be targeted under Obamascare will be the elderly and handicapped. I can’t stand these bunch of freaking, immoral, liars.

  7. And you know what, Teresa? I ain’t that terribly FAR from ELDERLY my – own – self.

I still have a job. I still walk upright. I still contribute to SS and taxes. But, after 6 decades on the planet, they’re gonna put ME out to pasture?

Just think what they’ll do to YOU when YOU get a “difficult” disease at ANY age??

  8. Here’s hoping this is the start of people in this country regaining their senses and an understanding of just how precious a gift our Founding Fathers gave us.

  9. BZ,
I’m rooting for your prediction to be correct. BIG TIME!

Maybe the health care bill will still go through.

But if Brown gets elected, we have a very positive barometer that the November 2010 elections will vote out a lot of those incumbent Dems.

  10. I’m thinking Miss Marcie in a squeaker, but only because Boston isn’t snowed under, and Dems will have the ACORN turnout. The Dems will suffer because their win wasn’t the double-digits they expected just a few short months ago.

(Please Note that 3 of 4 of the NFL teams I saw to win over the weekend lost, so we have that going for us!)
