Why?

For doing very little when people were getting attacked and injured at the Trump rally in San Jose last Thursday — sometimes right in front of officers.

Perhaps I’m missing some kind of embedded and secretive point, but I saw a lot of indifference on the part of SJPD as Trump supporters found themselves hit and, like the Trump supporter in the red shirt, chased down by protesters and assaulted.  This is just the first video.  But wait; there’s more.  Oh yes, much more information.

Law enforcement operates on ROEs — Rules of Engagement — that come from command staff and also from city hall and/or the mayor.  I know that.  I spent 41 years in law enforcement, 35 years for a major California agency easily twice as large as that of San Jose’s 900 officers.

Let’s be clear.  The mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo, believes that it is the fault of the Trump supporters for being assaulted.  Liccardo said:

The mayor, a Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter, criticized Trump for coming to cities and igniting problems that local police departments have to deal with.

 “At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign.”

Completely ignoring the actual behavior of the unfettered Leftist rioters under the Leftist mayor’s snarky little nose last Thursday.

With that kind of rhetoric, you can mostly be assured that San Jose PD Chief Edgardo Garcia got the phone call from Liccardo, which was then was passed down via limp-wristed ROEs to the Watch Commander that day and then to the troops themselves.  Just as with Anaheim PD.  Stand down.  React only to the very worst.  If you absolutely must.  I’ll get back to that, however.

Until then, let us note just who was so terribly pleased when Edgardo Garcia was appointed — not elected — as San Jose’s Chief of Police in March of this year.

Right.  Our loving racist friends, La Raza.  Translated: The Race.  As in only one race and no other.  La Raza is all for Reconquista.  That is: taking back portions of the US and turning them officially back into Mexico.  As in: reconquered.  (Apparently it still stings that Spain conquered Mexico and forced the native indians to speak Spanish.)

With Chief Garcia having the prominent featuring and endorsement of La Raza is called a “clue.”  A photo below from the chief’s personal Twitter account.

It all begins to tie in, you see.

Here is displayed the attitude of those loving Mexicans who embrace all of what America stands for.  Oh wait, no they don’t.  He and other illegal Mexicans simply want to shoot their hands out and have their palms crossed with free education, free health care, valid drivers licenses, free housing, free food.  And to hell with the rest of you damned Gringos.  As a matter of fact, Gringos, your genocide sounds appropriate.

Above, the kind of racist rhetoric spouted by the La Raza founder.  You know, the La Raza that endorsed San Jose police Chief Edgardo Garcia, who ordered or, at best, allowed his officers to set up basic skirmish lines and nothing else.  Nothing else.

And not an ounce of blowback.  Genocide.  Nice word, that.  Genocide.

La Raza.  The same racist organization that was all so pleased at the appointment of Chief Edgardo Garcia.

And with that, the San Jose Police Department mostly stood down.  Just check the videos.

Attacked by protesters.  Arrest teams?  Hello?  Arrest teams?  Formations?

Even ABC News reporters were shocked at the lack of control in San Jose, asking SJPD officers to arrest persons assaulting others.  What?  ABC News asking cops to actually arrest people?

Police have so far been holding back as disorder unfolds outside the Trump rally. There was an initial attempt by law enforcement, according to reporters on the ground, to hold back anti-Trump demonstrators from the Republican nominee-in-waiting’s supporters. Since that failed police clad in riot gear have been mostly keeping a distance and, it seems, occasionally retreating.

But still, of course, you can go to the rally of any candidate in the USA and not be assaulted, correct?

Uh, no.

San Jose police Chief Eddie Garcia insisted that it was more important for police to hold their “skirmish line” formations than to stop individual attacks. Four arrests were made.

Four arrests.  Holy shit.  Let us not tax our local jail, which would be that of Santa Clara County.  I’m sure they braced for the challenge of a massive four persons.  They stood underwhelmed.

And as I am wont to say, “but wait, there’s more“:

“We are not an ‘occupying force’ and cannot reflect the chaotic tactics of the protesters,” Garcia told reporters. Unless a victim’s life was in peril or the violence was “spiraling out of control,” he said, officers held back to avoid inciting more violence and having the crowd turn on officers. He also said the 250 police weren’t enough to control the roughly 400 protesters.

I’ll wager you read and saw and heard nothing of this.  Nothing.  Repeat: nothing.

Then, from GatewayPundit.com:

The Mercury News lies. “Taunting” anti-Trump thugs does not excuse bloody public beatings.

What has gone largely unreported, is that police chief Eddie Garcia is affiliated with the far left group La Raza.

In its release, SJPD said it held off in arresting people seen committing crimes because it “had the difficult task of weighing the need to immediately apprehend the suspect(s) against the possibility that police action involving the use of physical force under the circumstances would further insight [incite] the crowd and produce more violent behavior.”

That sounds like LeftThink.  That translates to pussy behavior and cowardice.  On behalf of the San Jose administration, but not the line troops.

Have you ever seen such a cowardly display from law enforcement in recent ken?  I have not.

Liccardo and Garcia, you are both two peas in a pod.  To San Jose residents: don’t expect justice.  Don’t expect protection.  Politics trumps need.

Notice any difference between the two crowds?  And haven’t you ever wondered: from where are these protesters coming?

I think that should explain much.

I recently met the owner of SackHeadsRadio, who is a former LE officer.  He and I both agree: the primary duty of cops is to protect the public.

San Jose PD officers did no such thing on that day.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am that politics trumped people being assaulted.

San Jose Police Department, you should be so ashamed.

I write this post as a recently retired law enforcement officer, a Sheepdog, who spent 41 years of his life protecting persons and property.  For those of you who may cry that I am somehow terribly biased against the San Jose Police Department.

I swore an oath to the citizens of the State of California and the nation.  That I would protect them.  I ask: where do you see the protection afforded citizens of San Jose?  Where do you see the property of San Jose protected?  Please answer that question, administrators of San Jose.

You have much to answer for, mayor and chief.  You do not deserve capital letters.  And to those SJPD managers and supervisors who allowed this to occur?  Did you really do what is right?

I suspect you did not.

You and I both know the truth.
