Shocking

From Hillary:

Clinton said new tactics have brought some success against insurgents, particularly in Iraq’s Anbar province.

“It’s working. We’re just years too late in changing our tactics,” she said. “We can’t ever let that happen again. We can’t be fighting the last war. We have to keep preparing to fight the new war.”

From John McCain:

McCain said that pulling out of Iraq would empower al-Qaida and Iran and unleash a “full-scale civil war” in Iraq.

He drew applause when he said, “As long as we have a chance to succeed, we must try to succeed.”

Later, he said, “We’re starting to succeed, and I think we’re seeing some shift in public opinion.”

Shocking.

In closing: pray for the shuttle Endeavor astronauts, as they plan to return to earth today.

  1. Just have to love the sanctimonious ‘years late’… where was she to boost the force structure of the US Armed Forces? She goes to a VA hospital to criticize the amount of paperwork and saying she will ‘do something about it when elected president’ ignoring that it is Congress that sets the amount of paperwork. And she sits on the committee that writes the damned legislation. If she can’t figure out how paperwork is generated, how can she figure out something as complex as what it would take to stand up Iraq? Iraq is *not* Germany, Japan, Italy, S. Korea… plus the folks there had never experienced the rule of law or democracy before, just tyranny and despotism.

If she wanted it to stand up faster she should have *funded* for more people, equipment, and mandate the damned Federal government actually dedicate itself to helping out…. McCain, too, come to that, and any other Congresscritter running for President. They all have these lovely ‘legislative agendas’ which, you know, they can do from the legislature. Congress. If Congress had actually done its job things would be going far better, but that is no longer the case in America. These Emirs of Incumbistan have got to go. A President can only go so far while Congress lines its pockets and can barely read its job description, if they can find it.

  2. The question of success militarily isn’t the issue, it’s political success and a fully functional, responsible, effective, fair, and legit government.

That imo won’t be achieved anytime soon, if it can at all, and resemble any kind of a democracy.

You can divide into 3 separate provinces, but expect the Kurds to be invaded by Turkey if that happens.

Iran wont stand for anything other than a one sided Shiite controlled government and the Sunnis simply cant get over the good old days, plus the fact that religiously they will never get along due to fundamental Islamic differences.

We’ve won, but Bush is a globalist and wouldnt know victory if it bit him in the ass.

Not much we can do politically.

We have this thing called the separation of church and state…

Their politics and religion work together. They are one.

And Allah don’t like a civilized world. They won’t ever change that mindset.

If anything it’s gotten more extreme and continues to get worse.

So nothings getting better, any success is simply cosmetic surgery for something more uglier to come.
