Not ONE pilot was ever killed flying the SR-71. An amazing record considering the plane flew so high and fast . . . comes in handy to outrun SAM’s being launched at you!! This is the definitive documentary on the SR-71 from what I can gather. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ5FjVOvkB0
You’re absolutely correct Paul. There is also only ONE US bomber that never dropped a bomb or fired a gun in anger during its tenure. Which bomber was that?
