If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you’re not a racist, you’ll have to vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.
If the electorate would be objective, Obama couldn’t possibly get re-elected.
However, as I’ve said many times, the way that people vote often has nothing to do with facts or political platform. We are living in the Age of Perceptions, the Age of the Cult of Personality — not the Age of Reality.
I know several people who voted for Obama in 2008, and they’re already declared that they’ll vote for Obama in 2012. Of course, all these people I know are still gainfully employed; they haven’t felt the pain, nor have they sacrificed.
Furthermore, the race issue again comes into play in 2012. Sure, many will give Obama “a second chance” just because he is black.
