My initial reaction to Trump is: YUCK. But honestly, how could anyone be worse than the present occupant of the W.H.? Until a few years ago I thought Trump was the most self-centered, obnoxious person in the world. I was mistaken.
Now I’d vote for him in a heartbeat if his name was opposite Bozama’s.
bz . . . Trump should not be quickly dismissed. Under his red mop he is very smart, energetic, and well educated man. I personally doubt his ability to be a winning presidential candidate, but our government certainly needs to fill lesser offices with dynamic conservative leaders. Old Donald is has a lot to offer, and he’s not afraid to say so. . . Bump
THAT would truly upset the applecart if he ran… and his point about the airports IS valid!
Greybeard: quite true. Hillary would have been better. She possesses balls unlike her husband or the current occupier of the WH.
Bump: he speaks plainly, yes. Perhaps too plainly for the electorate.
NFO: his points are valid about the airports and about the military.

California perceived as a trendsetter rejected Whitman and Fiorina. I think The Donald will waste his time and money running against free cheese. Governor Moonbeam II is my exhibit.
Noted and logged, dmurray. We call these “facts in evidence.”

Except: you forgot to capitalize Free Cheese.

No. However if “the Donald” would truly like to serve I’m sure there is a place in DC for him. I’m sure he’d usher in a much friendlier business environment and he’d stop kissing China’s ass. There are GOOD things about Donald Trump. I don’t think he should be POTUS though. I’d really like to see ALLEN WEST in the office.
I’d vote for him YESTERDAY…he loves this country, he loves our power and righteous might(whatever power we have left), he won’t take guff, he hates China and I’ve heard him despair about the crap products they’re selling for so cheap and the huge tax he wants to levy on them!, and he minces no words.
And he’s against Obama care!! NEXT?…
I don’t know,,,,, He says the right things, BUT I CAN’T WATCH HIM SAYING IT!!!!! Guppy mouth, and that accent totally turns my hand from pulling the lever for him.
I can’t stand his voice or his lips when he talks. Like a guppy. I like what he says, the message,,,but
Would this be the right place to wax philosophic about campaign reform? What riles me up most is given all the $$ spent, the only real beneficiaries of all that “investment” is the Media — and they’re doing their level biased best to see their favorite candidates crowned.
My recommended Federal legislation would force any FCC licensed media outlet and/or conglomerate to provide equal and FREE time to all properly registered candidates. No candidate, proposition, or sponsorship ads could be charged a fee. The public would demand coverage of candidates & issues (thereby creating ratings), but no incremental revenue would be allowed for media sources who are SUPPOSED to be reporting the NEWS anyway. That’s just a 3 sentence description, but I’m sure you get the gist.
If you question the need for any change in this arena, ask yourself where did all that money go in the last CA Gubernatorial race. Who really won?
Also, isn’t it ironic that Gubernatorial seems to have a root of “Guber”? Close enough to Goober for me.
Have a nice day!
Donald Trump sounds good and he’s striking a lot of the right notes, including a lot of important ones that nobody else is sounding right now. But, what kind of primary candidate will he be, and what kind of general election candidate would he be if he won the nomination. They might be two different things. Him being a businessman, I have a sinking feeling in my gut he’d end up being just another politician racing for the center. He is after the Tea Party support now, but he would gently lead them off to a corner at the most convenient, or inconvenient, opportunity, is what I’m afraid of.
I should also point out that, unless I’m mistaken, it hasn’t been that long ago that this guy mulled over a presidential run at an earlier tine. As a Democrat.
