AZ Sheriff Speaks The Truth:

From CNSNews.com:

Our own government has become our enemy and is taking us to court at a time when we need help,” Babeu said.

Pinal County (Ariz.) Sheriff Paul Babeu is hopping mad at the federal government.

Babeu told CNSNews.com that rather than helping law enforcement in Arizona stop the hundreds of thousands of people who come into the United States illegally over its southern border in Arizona, the federal government is targeting the state and its law enforcement personnel.

“What’s very troubling is the fact that at a time when we in law enforcement and our state need help from the federal government, instead of sending help they put up billboard-size signs warning our citizens to stay out of the desert in my county because of dangerous drug and human smuggling and weapons and bandits and all these other things and then behind that they drag us into court with the ACLU,” Babeu said.

The sheriff is referring to the lawsuits filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Department of Justice challenging the state’s new immigration law.

“So who has partnered with the ACLU?” Babeu said in a telephone interview with CNSNews.com. “It’s the president and (Attorney General) Eric Holder himself. And that’s simply outrageous.”

Sheriff Babeau speaks the simple truth.

And Demorat Pete Stark speaks the truth when he states “the federal government can do most anything in this country.”

You think about that statement and the above video for a moment.

Sometimes I cannot help but wonder, when I am particularly frustrated, why we’re still at the stage of polite discourse in this country.

Again: November will be the tipping point, the fulcrum, in this nation’s entire history.

UPDATE:

Word indicates that the federal government, additionally, is beginning to marshal its forces and will apply them against one police officer in Arizona in order to emphasize its point of “hands off illegal immigrants.”

I should also care to point out that support is being solicited at BorderSheriffs.com — where you may donate in support of Arizona sheriff’s sued by the ACLU. Please visit and donate if you can!

FURTHER:

From GlobalGrind.com:

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, whose lawsuit against health care reform moved forward Monday, has ruled that his state’s law enforcement officials can ask to check the immigration status of anyone they arrest or even stop.

Cuccinelli’s legal opinion, written in response to a conservative state delegate’s request, could expand on a 2008 Virginia law requiring police to check the legal status of anyone taken into custody on suspicion of having committed a crime.

Can anyone say something similar to “the pushback has begun“?

  1. Facts in evidence indeed. In politics the axiom is “respond to words with words; respond to actions with actions.”

The Demorats have gone far beyond simply words. It’s time for actions.

  2. “November will be the tipping point, the fulcrum, in this nation’s entire history.”

No it really will not. Even if the Republicans take back control of both houses of congress, the people, who are at present so want to hold their represenatives accountable, will slip back into apathy and complacency as the Republicans (comprised largely of the very same Republicans that bare culpability in bringing us to this very point) will do nothing to shrink the size, scope, or jurisdiction of the Federal Government.

I’ve got $50 in fiat currency to put up if anyone thinks otherwise.

  3. Soapster: to a point you may be right. Sometimes there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference. Perhaps my larger point is this: if the Dems keep control of both House and Senate, you can wave goodbye to the nation and ensure a second Obama term.

It is said that sometimes you’ve got to go through hell to get to heaven. Such might be the paddles to the chest if you will; shock the country out of apathy and complacency. We can say we’re close but we’re not quite there.

Let these 2003 Tax cuts expire and that might do it.

  5. I am going to stay positive until the November elections are over. I hear Pelosi and Biden bragging that nothing is going to change.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

As for the law enforcement officers of Arizona, I truly am praying for them. They desperately need help. Send the National Guard, S.W.A.T. any military branch, but their cries are being ignored.

At this time Obama is trying to grant mass citizenship for illegals WITHOUT congressional approval.

Obama has done nothing but stomp on our rights and on the constitution.

  6. Soapster: and again, to a point, I don’t disagree. My grave concern is, if we allow that to happen — and certainly there are those who need to be “taught a lesson” — the country will decline to a level that literally won’t be brought back for years. Or, worst case scenario, there is an actual depression and the nation encounters physical revolt.

You know, of course, that the bulk of Americans couldn’t care less about the expiration of the tax cuts? They’ll get their payroll statement or their check and ask, pissed: “what the hell’s up with this?”

Hello, paycheck: shake hands with the Demorats.

That is, if you still have a job.

  7. Debbie: the electorate has, I believe, not yet reached what I term “threshold.” They have not yet been sufficiently prodded into alarm.

Leticia: there may — I say MAY — be a slight turnaround in the air.

This isn’t the time to rest; this is the time to bellow the FACTS through every media outlet, to family, to friends, to total strangers.

And to donate actual $$$, time and effort to anyone you deem sufficiently worthy of your interest.

TARGET your money! TARGET your enthusiasm!
