Yes indeed, the debt ceiling not having been lifted to penultimate heights via a bill brought by the Demorats to completely uncap spending and uncap taxes is, you see, the fault of the TEA Party.

“This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell into GOP Senate nominees,” McCain added, still reading from the article.
Speaker Boehner’s version 2.0 bill is the one that the bulk of the Old GOP Court is pushing. The New Court GOP fuzzies are not rolling over for it. Because of this, Mr Boehner has told those newbies, “get your ass in line.” That is a direct quote.
But it is now a moot point insofar as 53 Demorats sent word to Speaker Boehner that his budget proposal won’t pass the floor of the Senate today, Thursday (I wrote this on Wednesday afternoon). As in, purposely won’t pass the Senate. By them. The Demorats. So now who is an obstructionist and who doesn’t play well in terms of bi-partisanship and compromise?
Demorats and, of course, The New York Times, say that Mr Obama should simply raise the debt ceiling unilaterally, all by himself.
What bill, if any, should the GOP embrace? What tactics would you recommend? Allow the debt ceiling to be slightly extended if there are no tax hikes whatsoever?

The TEA Party, not an actual party, is credited with wrecking the GOP. Because it, the TEA Party, wants to scale back spending and ensure that taxes are likewise stopped and then perhaps rolled back.
Which would, of course, include a STOPPAGE and then ROLLBACK of SPENDING as well.

McCain was on Hannity explaining that really admires the Tea Party.
“I wasn’t attacking the Tea Partiers or anybody,” he said, later adding that the editorial he read was more of an “attack on President Obama.”
Yeah, right…..
“I admire, respect and appreciate the Tea Party, and they’re the ones that gave us a majority in the House of Representatives so that we can get something done,” McCain said near the end of the interview.
Sounds like the same during election cycles when all of a sudden he becomes a conservative.

I know that sounds insane, but there are SO many instances where the Republicans are saying NOTHING and doing NOTHING to fight this president’s ignoring of the constitution….etc. I have a video on from a day or two ago where he says he wishes he could go over COngress! This administration is taking advantage of ‘baseline’ budgeting, which is not ‘budgeting’ at all. Each year the baseline goes up and the next year’s budget is increased accordingly. The 2012 budget will be based on the enormous spending of 2011. Whatever happened to Pay-go or “zero-based budgeting”?
John McCain needs to retire. Fat chance, I know, but there it is.
Also, you know as well as I do, the media will not place the blame on those 53 Demorats. They will, and are, blaming the Republicans.
I’m almost to the point of giving up. Too many people buy what the media is selling without question. I can’t believe the number of people who believe the crap that’s out there.

Mike Florey: yes indeed. People say, no, you can’t stop it, you can’t cap it. Not now. Not in a recession, not in this economy. Really? Well, just when is a permissible time? One year from now? Ten years from now? 39 years from now? Never? It has to be done. You cannot keep the spending up like this. As has been said time and time and time again, it isn’t a REVENUE problem, it’s a SPENDING problem.
