Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to “stand down.”
But wait; it becomes even more of an abortion:
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon on Thursday that there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help.

With these other salient facts:
There were warnings from our own diplomats. Newly released documents written by our Ambassador detailed the deteriorating security situation and underscored just how dangerous Libya had become. There were also repeated requests for increased security on the ground – with one document stating: “What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks.”
And let us not forget the events leading up to the deadly attack. The American Consulate had been previously attacked twice. The British consulate in Benghazi was closed after the British ambassador was attacked, and the Red Cross was closed due to deteriorating security.
Then came September 11, 2012 – on the 11th anniversary of that terrible attack on U.S. soil. The assault lasted seven hours, with no land troops or other military reinforcements available. Witnesses called the storming of the compound a “strong, multi-pronged and organized” effort, with perpetrators wielding various weapons, including machine guns and RPGs.

I was listening to talk radio yesterday when a caller, male, explained all this as he’d just heard it on the TV news………..he got all these facts in and then literally had to stop speaking from sheer emotion, after he said “We should have helped those four American heroes”……..the host had to let him go because the guy couldn’t gather himself again. I couldn’t help tears coming at that point, either, to hear a man so overcome like that and so rightfully so. I guess I feel like I feel when we’ve put a convict to death; In most cases, I’m for the death penalty, but I always get teary-eyed when it’s done because the STATE did that and we ARE the state. WE killed the guys who fought SO HARD in Benghazi, even as they probably figured “Help’s coming any minute…..of COURSE it is, we’re Americans!”
But it didn’t. And CNN and MSNBC haven’t covered it yet this morning; I’ve been flipping around strictly to see what they’re covering. NOTHING.

This story is being studiously ignored by most of the mainstream print and broadcast media. I wonder how many voters are totally ignorant of the Obama regime’s treason in the matter of Benghazi-gate?
The bulk of America, I’d submit.
Here are most Americans:
1. Too busy at the end of the day to discover what goes on around them, save that which immediately affects them, in front of their faces — because they actually have jobs and must support their families.
2. Too ignorant and too young/self-involved about anything that doesn’t center around their individual needs; raised on ESTEEM, tended by Helicopter Parents, noses buried in Wii, xBox, corrupted by public schooling.
3. Free Cheese parasites: those who have been purposely CULTIVATED by the Demorats and Leftists — for multiple generations — to EXPECT that their needs trump those of anyone else.
4. The small minority of individuals who work, possibly at two or three jobs and, further, make it their additional jobs to know precisely what is going on about them. They listen to multiple forms of media, domestically and globally, and don’t place trust lightly. You. Me. And we are the rather marked minority.
