JERUSALEM – Elder statesman Shimon Peres was elected Israel’s ninth president Wednesday, capping a campaign to extend his six-decade political career in a race marred by rape allegations against the sitting president.
US Renews Aid to PA
(IsraelNN.com) US President George W. Bush spoke to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and expressed support for the new PA and its Prime Minister, Salam Fayad. The US has pledged to renew economic support for the PA, now that it no longer includes the Hamas terrorist organization. During the conversation, Abbas encouraged Bush to push to restart the peace process with Israel and to give Arabs in Judea and Samaria a “political horizon”.
What did I tell you, we are all being played big time.
But America is going to push Israel into making a Palestinian State, which will be a terrorist state for, as you all know, Hamas is Fatah and Fatah is Hamas.
- Reoccupy Gaza completely;
- Completely occupy the Golan Heights;
- The same for the West Bank;
- Completely remove all non-Israelis.
Bush is a good intentioned, but weak and foolish man, the total opposite of Hitlery (an evil intentioned, strong willed and calculating woman.) Neither is what we need in the White House. Israel has a Protector Who in time will stun the world.
I like your solution, BZ. I agree with it 1000%! Now if we could only get Washington to agree, we – and Israel – would be in business.
I say let Israel circle Gaza, nothing in – nothing out.
No aid.
Let the world see how Hamas takes care of their people. Let the world see who comes first to Hamas, them or their people.
Shoprat, Gayle and Ranando:
Here is what NO ONE ever mentions, brought up by Ranando: if the Arab world, if all of the Middle East LOVES Palestinians, why is it that I DON’T see them lining up to donate land for a “Palestine” within one of THEIR countries. Middle Easterners are nomadic and tribal, and don’t abide by “lines on a map” anyway — those country lines were drawn by the British in the 30s. So what would be the loss?
Not happening, you say? Of course not. That would require a form of cooperation, communication and general good intentions which Middle Eastern countries have NOT.
They couldn’t care LESS about their neighbors; they can only tear down and have little if any capacity to BUILD and nurture.

BZ, If only a true leader emerged and did exactly what you suggest. Things would straighten themselves out in a year or so… The year would be bloody and tough. But, rather than being bled dry for many years, one tough year would be welcomed by history.
Bushwack: altogether correct. You either deal with the demon NOW and shed some blood, or you put it off and deal with the demon LATER when it is STRONGER and you are WEAKER. This is true, essentially, of any issue currently on the global table with regard to the US — and the issue of illegal immigration as well.

For the most part I agree with you. The problem lies in that Israel itself has shown some support for Fatah so it leaves the U.S. in a difficult place. It appears to me that Fatah is bad but Hamas is worse.
Rush has brought up numerous times that the only thing that will ever solve this problem is for Israel to declare all out war and wipe out the enemy. I wholeheartedly agree with that, but living it out is probably a whole other matter.
Why it was only about 18 months ago that I congratulated Hamas on their splendid victory in elections! Now it is time to see how well they heeded my warnings…
They have proven to be extremely *clever* in grabbing the most isolated part of the area more or less called Palestine and giving us a ‘Two State Solution’… Two Palestinian States! Ah, yes, extremely clever of them… of course now that they *have* their own little plot of planet Earth, I do think it is time to cheer on their decision of guns over butter and stop supplying the latter and give them far more of the former.
But that is, of course, a Jacksonian solution: permanent.
Because I have had it with DECADES of whining from Palestinians…
