White House Proposes Merging Labor, Education Departments in Government Overhaul

(RNN) – The White House has proposed merging the Department of Labor and the Department of Education on Thursday as part of the overhaul of the federal government.
Mick Mulvaney, the Office of Management and Budget chief, unveiled a plan during what he called a “drain the swamp” cabinet meeting, media reported.
The proposal would allow the administration to focus its efforts on student vocational training under one department, according to The Washington Post.
Mulvaney said at the meeting he wants to reduce about 45 job training programs down to 15.
The overhaul proposal results from an order President Donald Trump signed in March last year, which called for a review of the federal government in order to find redundancies and streamline agency operations.

Congress would need to approve any such overhaul of federal agencies.
The Department of Education was created by President Jimmy Carter in 1980, and has since been a subject of ire among conservatives.
The White House proposal to merge the departments is expected to occur as part of a larger vision to overhaul the federal government, including shrinking some agencies and altering the missions of others.
It’s part of a directive by Office of Management and Budget head Mick Mulvaney, urging leaders of federal agencies to find ways to streamline their efforts.
Again I say: this is precisely why I acquiesced and voted for Donald Trump. He’s the proverbial bull in the china shop.

President Trump makes it clear they work for him, it is his Administration. Must give all those who spent their whole careers “going along to get along” vapors. How dare he? They have never lived in a world where, “You’re fired”, wasn’t just a possibility, but probable based on your performance.
Passing the popcorn watching the (P)regressives deal with Justice Kennedy’s retirement. Looking forward to much more if Justice Ginsberg dies during President Trump’s first term. Maybe she is staying alive just to spite him.
It will be determined afterwards that one of the best things stemming from the Trump presidency was the unmasking of the true nature of many, many people on both sides of the aisle. We have discovered, for example, the true natures of both George Will and Bill Kristol who, we now know, aren’t Conservatives but instead dainty little muffins whose delicate sensitivities have been offended to the point where they wish the nation to fail — right along with the LDAMM, Leftists, Demorats and American Media Maggots.
We are discovering the true nature of the Demorats, of Hillary Clinton, of the FBI, the DOJ, the rest of the Alphabet Agencies and DC. The cockroaches cannot afford to have any light whatsoever shined upon them. Instead, Trump brings pointy-toed shoes.
