Life Without The United States

This is Part I of a nine-part series on YouTube. Please take the time to watch this initial video (9 minutes, 20 seconds). Download the rest of the series if you wish. I would suggest so. In all, it will take roughly an hour of your time.

You and I both know that, as Mark Steyn suggests, America is indeed alone. You cannot count on the UK. You cannot count on Europe. You cannot count on Canada. You certainly cannot count on Mexico or South America.

And I also submit that, as William Bennett likewise suggests, America is the last, best hope of the entire planet.

This nation, Demorats, Leftists, Socialists, the Religious Left, other nations, other interests and agendas denigrate and remove power and control from the United States to their own detriment.

They are that ignorant. They are that shallow.

Let the series speak for itself.

  1. On this BZ, we must agree to disagree my friend.

America is much bigger than a bunch of assholes in Washington.

The United States of America, the best is yet to come.

Maybe it’s time that we all realize that America comes first and stops trying to save all these countries that in your words, we can’t count on, fuck em.

I’m just optimistic and I will never believe that our wonderful people would ever allow us to just go away.

    IMO!

  2. Scary to think about, but definately possible unless the GOP gets it’s head out of Washington policits and starts listening to it’s base.

  3. BZ,
Thanks for posting this. I have watched and I’m going to watch it again. Interesting thought, a world without America. Would everyone be better off? That’s the question. I look at it more and give you my opinion. I will say that the world certainly wouldn’t be better off in the past tense. I think most of the dissenters in the video are jealous that they have to depend on the US. Just some quick thoughts.

  4. TF: you are precisely correct.

Ranando: and we must indeed agree to disagree. America’s policies are specifically in the hands of its current politicos. I think it’s wonderful that you’re so optimistic; I try to be as well. And yes, given time and just a wee bit of assist we CAN overcome our current plight. I think both you and I will agree that, to recover, this administration needs to do, essentially NOTHING more. No more money, no more programs. Water and economics will always seek their own level.

At first blush my initial thought is to pull a Turner — that is, yank back troops and stop funds to other countries. But we no longer have the resources, the WILL or the means to be completely isolationist. We’d “like” to think it would work, as a “get-back” to other nations whose sole job, it seems, is to diminish us. But we have to understand that we are NOT the Power we were even 20 years ago.

Pure Isolationism for the US? I don’t think we could pull it off. And one thing is CLEARLY true: the US canNOT stand against every other nation-state on the planet.
