The best , the brightest, the fittest, the most noble and honorable are the ones who put their lives on the line. Do they perceive something that others cannot even imagine? From what source do they draw the courage to knowingly and willingly go into harm’s way? Not once but time after time? What sustains them?
I look at all those white markers and wonder how any one of them might have affected our world had he lived. What inventions, discoveries, music, art, literature will never be known because a man decided to answer the call of his country only to never come home again.

With another Leftist regime, how long will we be able to find people willing to sacrifice for the military or for law enforcement? That, I think, is a viable question.
