ObamaCare mandate repealed by Senate

Isn’t it odd how quiet the American Media Maggots have been over this? They certainly don’t want the American Taxpayer to know that President Trump has been keeping up with his campaign promises. One of them was, of course, to repeal ObamaKare.

From TheHill.com:

Senate GOP repeals ObamaCare mandate

by Peter Sullivan

Senate Republicans have approved the repeal of ObamaCare’s individual mandate as part of their tax-cut bill, a major step toward ending an unpopular part of the health-care law.

The quote of the article, dribbling with uncommon common sense:

“Families ought to be able to make decisions about what they want to buy and what works for them — not the government,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said, hailing the accomplishment.

“I believe if people don’t want to buy the ObamaCare insurance, they shouldn’t have to pay a tax penalty to the IRS.”

Was this passed in the dark of night like the ACA? Uh, no.

The Senate tax bill must still be reconciled with House legislation that does not include the mandate’s repeal. But that is unlikely to be a major issue, given support in the GOP conference for repealing the mandate.

No Democrats in either chamber voted for the GOP tax bills.

Now it’s time to make healthcare transportable across state lines, time to promote HSAs and past time to focus on the high cost of healthcare in America in the first place.

We’re just addressing symptoms at this point. It is time to address the entire system and throw healthcare into a free and open market with even more competition.
