Why the bleeding over one DC representative and one federal judge?

Close to two hundred + cops get killed every year. Purposely and pointedly; some targeted for assassination. Yearly. For multiple years and years.

Thousands and thousands of people get killed by assailants and gangbangers every year.

WHY is it that THESE people are valued more than others?

Think about that.

Are they MORE worthy than the other victims I mention above?

If so: WHY?

  1. BZ, I am sure you know this but here goes,,,The victims you justifiably recognize do not fit the “liberal victim” card of the day.

Besides that, why would liberals mourn the death of cops when they defend the “rights” and “reasons” these vermin kill them?

Add to that, in the liberal f’d-up mind there is no right or wrong unless they deem it so, which at that point is hypocritical to say the least.

Do not torture yourself with such questions that you raise as there is NO reasoning with these moonbats, they belong where Loughner should have been if it were not for them – the insane asylum.

As odd as it may seem, you point out the same thing Cornel West did in a panel discussion- that the Congresswoman and Judge being shot is horrible, but no more horrible than the thousands of innocent shooting victims. His point, and mine, is that these individuals represent a higher class in our society, and hence the media attention.
If she were a school board member and he a community organizer, would this have dominated the national media for well over a week?

  3. The Left thought it would have a perfect case to fit their storyline… the storyline was that of hateful right-winger trying to assassinate left leaning moderate Democrat. Then all the lovely little memes the Left has been spouting would have been fulfilled and their alternate reality vindicated.

Unfortunately real reality happened to them and their storyline turned into blood libel. That doesn’t stop them from spouting it, but the distance between where the Left thinks the world is and where the world actually is grows more stark as they continue pushing those memes. No one is buying them, not even the regular liberals. Now it is fratricide on the Left between the virulent extreme left, the hard left, the moderate left and the liberals.

Mind you they all want conservatives to shut up. But that isn’t happening.

Keeping a civil tone and pointing to the facts, and that their memes are not connected to reality is driving the Left nuts. They don’t want to see their lovely state run system dismantled over the next few years… and they will do anything to stop that save get out of their comfy basements with cola and popcorn to do anything. That takes real courage, real commitment and real devotion and they just don’t have that. Keep them pinned to their keyboards and they will take themselves from the equation.

  4. Wow Jacksonian. Nice denial and spin in your typical Beckian long winded circumlocutions. A style BZ is fond of as well. The right IS culpable in this matter and the more attention brought to it, the better.

  5. Canice: thanks for visiting, welcome aboard, and thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes, indeed.

AJ: and that’s why, when db writes and doesn’t make personal attacks, I let his comments stand — he’s the Perfect Example of our point.

  6. Yes he is, Mr. Z.

You can always get yesterday’s Leftist talking points from him which, unfortunately, are already widely circulated and examined. At least it keeps him at his keyboard which is a very faint utility of his missives. Otherwise he might start acting like Charles Johnson who really shouldn’t ever be away from his keyboard as witness what happens when he is.

  7. There’s another angle.
Cops wear protective vests because they know they may need them.
    Soldiers… same.
Both know they may be involved in combat at any given time.

The others don’t wear protective clothing because they’re reasonably sure the cops and soldiers make wearing it unnecessary.
Unfortunately, that confidence is beginning to be false.

Still, there is a reason it’s called “News”, and so far these events are infrequent enough they’re still worth the “Breaking News” fanfare.
    We’re not Mexico…. yet.

  8. Greybeard: we’re not even close. The last Congresscritter that was actually killed was Rep Leo Ryan, the ONLY Congressman killed in the history of the US — in 1978 in Guyana at Jonestown. Ryan had to purposely fly thousands of miles in order to be in the presence of Jim Jones, anOTHER incredibly insane person.

So no, we do not have a rampant history of shooting Congressmen/women.

In re bullet resistant clothing, it is common in LA for EMS personnel to wear these items. You likely know that already.

  9. AJ: also, just read that about Fuller.

Imagine that, at a TV gathering of those wounded in the Loughner shooting, with CNN’s Amanpour hosting, this guy stands up, takes a photograph of the local TEA Party representative, points and shouts “You’re dead!”

Yeah, you know, the ol’ understanding Left, never judging, never accusing, always collected, always understanding, never violent, never threatening, never arrested — okay, perhaps except for all of those preceding points.

    Such irony, eh?

  10. Amazing, isn’t it, Mr. Z?

The defense for the guy’s threats have ranged all the way from PTSD (of which he has no symptoms) to reaction to pain medication (if he was mentally impaired he just might have noticed that, I would imagine), instead of just looking him as an adult who had been wounded during someone else’s murder spree and had used his prior idea that, somehow, the Right is to blame and then issues a death threat in public.

    So much for Leftist ‘civility’.

When the Left stops bad mouthing others, stops impugning their intelligence for merely disagreeing with them, and stops issuing blood libel rejoinders, they might even be fit company for a chat about the weather.

When they cite ‘hateful’ symbols on a map, and the DNC used a similar map with similar symbols and one was on the exact, same person’s district… well maybe it was the DNC that started it off, no?

Then there is Kos saying that Gifford’s was ‘dead to him’ after she voted against Obamacare. Perhaps that might be considered ‘hateful’ and threatening, no?

Of course the Left will pay no attention to that… they can’t police their own as they have no standards they stick to, no decency, no morals and no ethics worth considering: it is all, and always, about power over others that they care about. And that is not the least bit civil at all.
