Imagine this is your cruise ship:
Largest plane in the world (yes, larger than the Airbus A380), the Russian Antonov AN-225:
And finally, James May of BBC’s Top Gear takes a ride in a U-2/TR-1 training variant to 70,000 feet and beyond:
Say a prayer for the people of Japan; they’ll be a long time in rehabilitating their country.

Good vids, and yeah the AN225 is a HOG… It takes a LOT of runway to get off the ground!
Man, that U2 vid was good. What a ride.
Had the opportunity to tour the AN 225 at a Paine Field, Everett, WA air show. Very impressive. I was most interested in the remarks of the Boeing people. To a man and woman, they seemed impressed.
My eye opener was watching the Russians. They were either in cheap, dirty coveralls, or expensive suits. Hardly a paradise for the workers but high living for the bosses.
There is a HUGE difference in the people of Japan compared to the people of Haiti, in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
There are only 3 classes of human beings.
They are Caucasian, Asian and Negroid.
All others are a mix.
It has always been said that the heat of the sun cooked out all intelligence in the brains of those living nearest the Equator.

Bigger than AIRBUS? WOW!
Super videos, BZ….I simply can’t imagine being on that cruise ship; I don’t see how anybody could survive having at least a couple of broken bones….I hope most of them were okay!
Have a super Sunday!
OBTW, that cruise ship is DIW, and THAT is why she’s trying to roll over…
Just sitting in front of the computer, I STILL got chills watching those awesome jets! IMHO, number 2 should have been number one. If I’d have been the guy standing there, “number 2” would take on new meaning!
You are so right about Japan, BZ. Have been & still am praying for them.
