In the state of Oregon recently (July 22nd), specifically the town of McMinnville, “two boys tore down the hall of Patton Middle School after lunch, swatting the bottoms of girls as they ran — what some kids later said was a common form of greeting. But bottom-slapping is against policy in McMinnville Public Schools.”
From there the two boys were arrested, strip searched four times, held in jail for five days, were not permitted contact with their parents for 24 hours, led into court in shackles. Why?
Because Yamhill County District Attorney, Bradley Berry, brought felony sex charges against the two boys.
For slap-butt day.
Read the whole story as written by Dennis Prager, who raised $45,000 for attorneys’ fees for the boys and their parents.
For slap-butt day.
A local circuit judge dismissed the case.
For slap-butt day.
Here’s what should happen:
– The school principal should be fired;
– The DA, Bradley Berry, should be fired.
Period.
Nothing else should be acceptable.

I saw that they dropped the charges on the two boys. I read the whole story that the boys were warned numerous times to stop but they kept up their annoying behavior. Keeping them in jail and bringing them into court in shackles was pretty severe and probably scared the sh-t out of them but where were the parents when the school told them to stop their crude and boorish behavior? They were let go in the end and I suppose they will never be such annoying little brats again. This type of behavior used to be taken care of by the Principal or the assistant Principal with a large wooden paddle with full approval of parents when I attended school.
j_g brings up valid points but it was seriously overblown. How many real crimes were committed and overlooked with the resources wasted on this nonsense.
I just slapped my wife on the butt.
“That’s for Slap Butt Day, Babe”.
I’ve got to run, I need to get to the dentist and have my two front teeth replaced.
tell me if I’ve got this figured out, Teachers can can play with student butt, can even take a student butt to an abortion clinic without a parents knowledge, and many wonder why conservatives are outraged about this. yet, let a couple of rowdy pubescent boys slap student butt running down a hall between classes, acting like, I dunno, pubescent boys or something, and they ought to be castrated, drawn, and quartered, right? humm, when I was in junior high, if a girl was offended by a butt slap, she usually showed it by a good stern face slap, in public, for all the other boy’s to see, causing laughter and embarrassment, and that usually took care of the problem.
J.G: that’s what the McMinnville newspaper published, that the boys had a “history” of that but they had evidently not. In any event, it SHOULD have been handled in the principal’s office and no further.
Shop: correct. No sense of proportion or common sense.
Ranando: ouch! Just had a temp crown put in last week!
Mark: yes, you have it precisely figured out.

“when I was in junior high, if a girl was offended by a butt slap, she usually showed it by a good stern face slap”
That’s tame. When I was in high school, it was a knee to the balls.
I’m sure there are exceptions to the rule, but this incident (and the years I worked for the local USD) further strengthen my conviction that public schools SUCK!
God forbid someone slaps my daughter on the ass, no it’s not me they’d have to worry about; shes a beautiful 5-11 at 14 years old and built like a brick shit house.
She gets to go to high school this year, the coaches are already drueling.
This is overblown, I tell mine to just kick their ass, boy or girl, in situations like that.
And she will.
In self defense only of course. lol
Of course!

We trust our children to these fools and we wonder why they are so foolish.
LOL! That’ll teach you, Ranando! 🙂
Great pic you chose to go along with this post, BZ.
I understand that the girls weren’t complaining. wasn’t this something the student’s did one day a year? At any rate, if the administration didn’t approve of it they should have informed the students of it and told them to stop. I do not consider this sexual harrassment… it’s just kids being kids, and good on that judge for throwing it out!
When I was fourteen and going to school in Los Angeles, (back in what some youngsters would refer to as the covered-wagon days) while walking down the hallway between classes, a boy walking toward me suddenly jammed his arm under my dress and grabbed my crotch. Jeans on girls weren’t allowed in school back then. Now that’s sexual harrassment! I cold-cocked the b*stard and knocked him out. He happened to be Black. I only tell you that because I was sent home for a week and I don’t know if I would have been sent home if he had been white. This was in the 50’s, so I believe this reverse-discrimination has been going on a lot longer out west than most folks think.
Gayle: you’re right; the girls involved were not complaining and attempted to set the record straight with the “authorities” (and I use that term loosely).
But of course, the DA had an AGENDA like the other DA with the lacrosse case.
