TEA Parties and the U.S. Media

Not just FAIL.

EPIC FAIL.

At no time in my, ahem, “50+” years on the planet have I ever been witness to such a wanton, craven, dismissive, condescending, inaccurate, biased, naive, assuming, incurious and progressively-inconsequential sycophantic media — as now. I think the applicable phrase is: “in the tank.”

“In the tank” for what or whom, you might rightfully ask?

— for the Leftists, Socialists, Liberals, Demorats — any “ists” or “ats” that oppose the slightest Moderate or Rightist or Libertarian philisophy.

My theory was borne out, in spades, on one simple day: Wednesday, April 15th of 2009.

Witness this exchange between CNN reporterette Susan Roesgen and attendees at a Chicago TEA Party — could she have been more snide, biased, arrogant and dismissive? Because this video is now ablaze over the internet she’ll likely be made a CNN martyr, she’ll have “taken one for the team” and will shortly get her own half-hour opinion show:

As I essentially wrote on quite a number of blogs: the determinant of this day will be revealed by the coverage — or lack thereof — by the so-called MainStream Media. I have labeled them — and rightfully so — as the DEM: the Defeatist, Elitist Media.

“CNN: the most INCONSEQUENTIAL name in news.”

As simply proven by ratings from Wednesday: coverage of the various nation TEA Parties pushed Fox News’ ratings into the stratosphere, more than CNN, HNN, MSNBC and all others combined.

So it’s clear now: the gloves are most definitely off. There really isn’t even the slightest veneer of impartiality in the MSM/DEM. In fact, the only real “coverage” occurred when hosts and “reporters” snickered and giggled over how many times they could utilize “teabagging” in a sentence.

In Sacramento, the capital of the most powerfully-productive state in the Union, there was only ONE — repeat, ONE — major media host covering the Sacramento TEA Party live on Wednesday: ERIC HOGUE from KTKZ, 1380 AM. The other three local TV stations predominantly ignored the event, which was attended by an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 persons.

In the course of a single national event, it is beyond any doubt that Conservatism struggles against unprecedented odds where the media makes no pretense whatsoever at fair coverage or treatment; quite the opposite, in fact.

If you held any hope for “fairness,” abandon that singular hope now.

  1. Well what the hell. I went to one of the severl in and around Houston, and there was no libs around that I could see. Oh yea, I would rather listen to obamayomama than geraldo. That prick really makes me sick. Fox should can his ass. I know the miltary hates his ass.

  2. Well, I suppose my ass will end up in jail pretty soon, I actually had the audacity to SPEAK at our rally up here in New Hampshire. I’ll bet the gestapo is already enroute to fetch me up and toss me in the gulag. Screw em, at least I won’t have to keep paying my damned taxes in there! Signed right-wing radical extremist.

P.S. I wonder if I can get a cell with a computer in it? Keep on blogging!

  3. Agree, BZ.

I also wish Fox would can Geraldo.

There wasn’t one lib protesting the tea party I went to in Kansas City which was good and bad. Bad because I wanted to take a pic of them because more than likely it would have brought humor to my post.

4-5 thousand people showed up in KC. There were a lot of military vets there too. I am proud to be in the same camp they are in and from what I saw in KC and around the country there IS a grass roots movement started and we WILL kick out all the bums in congress, and we WILL put up a real person-conservative in 2012.

I heard a demorat on Fox last night start harping about how Palin won’t get any of the ‘establishment’, washington, ‘political’ REPUBLICAN backing because they don’t like her. She doesn’t go out and campaign for other candidates like she ‘should’, she doesn’t go to the ‘republican gatherings’ like she ‘should’.

In other words, she doesn’t ki** Bu** like she ‘should’. GOOD.. Then Palin has passed my test! She isn’t your every day ‘politician’, YET she has tons of experience running a state and knows a lot about energy AND DOESN’T BELIEVE IN MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING.. How many fruticakes in Washington have stood up against that one?? NEWT HASN’T! He said he jumped on the bandwagon because shoot, everyone else believes it, so why not. I Don’t want another POLITICIAN in the WHite House again!

Sorry for getting off topic, I am just another one of those radical ‘tea baggers’.

  4. What I found interesting is that what coverage the MS did have showed only whites in their coverage. Here in San Antonio there were 10,000+/-. Hispanics outnumbered whites and plenty of blacks too. The MSM is trying to portray the Tea Party as fringe whites when it isnt its mainstream AMERICANS

  5. I just fired off emails to CNN’s pres and Susan what’s her name….as if they’ll read it?

WMD..I heard tons of minorities were at a LOT of the tea parties, too. Thanks for that info. God bless ’em!

You should SEE the pix from tea parties that Germany got. Well, here…I’ll link them:
    http://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/640/465232/bilder/

Pictures of Obama as Hitler, etc. The MOST incriminating nasty HOAKY stuff going…ACORN? because I NEVER saw a picture close to those posters even on MSNBC and CNN.

  6. here in florida we actually got pretty fair coverage( at least in s.w. florida). the news stations did a few minutes of coverage on them and they were pretty good doing it. we have a very high number of libs here due to them being from up north and all(snow birds), and yet many of them came to support the cause. the state of florida is now going to increase class size, after they spent years trying to get it down and hire more teachers, so they can save money and fire the same teachers they hired a year or so ago. I don’t know about other states but in florida, you’re pretty much not fireable after a year of working. so that means it’ll be harder to get rid of useless state programs. instead, they’re firing first responders and teachers. what the hell?
sorry to get off topic, but that reason might also go over to other states too.

  7. The elite media is as you put it, in the tank, for Obama. They are committed leftest. They made a decision during the election to support the man and they must do everything to support him now. It that meaning running down the opposition and referring to them as racism they will do that. If it means twisting and spinning the truth they will do that. If it means lying to the American people, yes they will even do that. They will do anything to support the policies and actions of Obama and his hinchmen. The lines are clearly drawn and those who try and remain on the fence will find it very difficult.

  8. I don’t actually know if the media in DFW reported on the tea parties, because I don’t watch the news. I can quickly skim the Drudge Report, read the Townhall commentaries, and a few blogs, and I have a pretty good idea of what’s going on in the world.

I learned how to live without news during the Clinton Administration when I was raising a little boy and didn’t want to have to deal with answering certain questions earlier than necessary.

During the Bush Administration, I didn’t watch much news because of the obvious bias.

Now, I don’t watch the news because (a) I don’t enjoy being nauseated, and (b) my husband would kill me if I threw my wineglass through the tv.

Hopefully, tv news will soon go the way of the newspaper …. into the trash bin of history.

  9. I’ve always like Hugh Hewitt’s CNN tag: The most busted name in news.

If this were leftists showing up, this would be monumental… but because it reaches down to mainstreet America in small towns, well, no one in the Elite cares about them. They are ‘the little people’.

Pitchforks are too nice for this Elite… tar and feathering seems appropriate, about once a week for a decade.

At 550,000+ this is a bona-fide change in the US… to where will be interesting to see. Are we in 1765 or 1783? If its the latter, then this time the modern Shaysites will NOT miscommunicate and things get bad, fast and hard. And if its the former it goes from civil to nasty in a the next year, which seems more likely.

    The Storm is rolling in.

  10. AJ: so correct-a-mundo; let TWO “Code Pink” people stand within 20′ of each other, each holding one 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper, and every media outlet within 100 miles would be busting their balls to cover it.

    BZ

  11. Yes, even though I of all people know how extremely biased the media is I was still shocked. I spoke at our tea party and all the media was there and they ended up completely ignoring ours because it was bigger than the one is Kansas, so they only covered it. Unbelievable!

  12. So it’s clear now: the gloves are most definitely off. There really isn’t even the slightest veneer of impartiality in the MSM/DEM.Nonetheless, at this point, control the media – control the vote.
