To America: Are We ACTUALLY This STUPID?

With America’s budget in the tank, with a trillion-dollar PLUS deficit, with a country completely rudderless due to the Demorats and Obama’s incessant, emotional bleating and whining —

There is still time for the US Congress to discuss the usage of the single word “GERONIMO” in the Osama bin Laden mission — in terms of it being a pejorative.
Really?
Are we truly that involved in incestuous navel-gazing? Isn’t there enough lint already present? Aren’t there actual issues requiring addressing?
Apparently not.

Congress to discuss use of Geronimo’s name in Bin Laden mission

May 4, 2011 | 7:12 pm

A congressional oversight hearing originally scheduled to discuss, among other things, how indigenous-themed sports mascots have negatively influenced the perception of Native Americans, will now also address the linking of the name Geronimo to Osama bin Laden.

“Geronimo” was the code name for the mission where 24 Navy SEALs raided Bin Laden’s three-story million-dollar compound in Abbotabad, Pakistan; “Geronimo” was also the code the SEALs used to alert their commanders that they identified their target; and finally “Geronimo-E KIA” was the coded message to confirm that they had killed Bin Laden.

The Senate Indian Affairs committee, chaired by Sen. Daniel Akaka (D-HI), will host the hearing titled “Stolen Identities: The Impact of Racist Stereotypes on Indigenous People,” which will be webcast live at 2:15 p.m. ET.

Oh. My. God.
Are that insipid as a nation?
Please allow me to make this as clear as possible. Let me be the proverbial transparent pane of glass. Let me be the conduit to clarity.
Who the HELL cares if a couple of Indians are mortified? Who the HELL cares if even ONE person is “offended”? My guess would be that GOWPs are the largest objectors.

Does the phrase “you need to get an actual life” mean anything to anyone in this happenstance?

  1. oh, yeah, Congress should form a committee, appoint a czar, hire a staff of thousands to look into this dire issue so they can study it out and be able to tell Obama how he should feel about it! absolutely!

  2. I hate political correctness and cultural over-sensitivity bullshit as much as anybody, but to tell you the truth, I don’t blame the Indians a damn bit for this.

That was my first reaction: We’re wasting time and money on what??

And Mark, I don’t even want to see that suggestion in writing. Someone in DC might see it and think it’s a good idea.

We’re not, our collective readers and fans, but many in America are indeed that damned STOOPID… Look at that idiot Deacon Blower… You just know he messed himself when Obama made the announcement…

But had it been Bush, the hypocritical moonbat would scream MURDER!

  5. Rubbish. Unbelievable how ignorant and close-minded people truly are.

A merciless, brutal murderer is finally dead, and they bicker about a name? Good grief!

  6. Wasting money on discussing the code name “Geronimo” is so incredibly stupid and wasteful that I don’t have a comment fit to print.

For some facts about Geronimo, see THIS. He was hardly the noble savage as multiculturalists would have us believe. Of course, Geronimo was at war with the white invaders. Furthermore, as Plains Indian, he practiced brutal warfare. A bloody fellow, he was!

Anyway, back when I was a kid, we used to yell “Geronimo!” when doing something particularly daring, such as jumping out of our tree fort and possibly hurting ourselves or the ones below on the ground.

  7. AOW: shame on you; he was noble and perfect if GOWPs say he was! Imagine, the nerve of you! To even DOUBT a Leftist GOWP!

As to “Geronimo” being yelled when leaping out of a tree — it was common for airborne troops in WWII to say that as they stepped out of their C-47s in combat.

  8. Geronimo!

Is a invocation of Saint Geronimo.

The redskin member of the indian tribe that came to be associated with the Saint’s name was called something else at birth like pees the bead, or two dogs barking, as the habit of the Indians was in naming children.

Myself, I am happy our military used a Saints name.
