Turban Pat-Down

We’re going to ask those wearing turbans to pat themselves down at airport security areas.

Sikhs have complained that the TSA is messing with their turbans. Turbans will not be subject to patdowns any more, according to the TSA. 82 complaints brought the TSA to its veritable knees.

By Ravinder Singh Robin
San Francisco, Nov.8 (ANI): In a significant development, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the United States has announced new guidelines that permit Sikh air passengers to retain their turbans at US screening checkpoints. In a response to a microscopic proportion of so-called “complaints.”

The TSA has also announced plans to recruit Sikh youths for airport security assignments to screen Sikh passengers. Ah yes, Sikh “youths,” those most subject to recruitment by al-Qaeda or other Islamist agendists due to their immaturity and inexperience. Smooth move, TSA.

The new policy is a direct response to Sikh concerns that were raised after the TSA decided that “bulky” headwear like cowboy hats, berets or turbans would be patted down as a screening measure. Proving, once again, that TSA spread its searches in a complete egalitarian fashion involving anyone with hats. But no, that’s still racist. Bull-fucking-shit.

According to the new TSA guidelines, airport screeners will no longer “pat down” people wearing religious head coverings and travellers will have the choice of going through alternative security measures. In an obvious attempt to become appeasists, allowing style or form to trump substance. This nation is nothing if not, these days, consistent.

Officials said that such alternatives may include walking through a machine that detects explosive chemicals or wearers could agree to pat down their own turban, and then have their hands swabbed with a cloth that is tested for chemical residue. But still, if there were an actual object of most any derivative ensconced within that turban, it would remain predominantly undiscovered. To include non-metallic sharpened carbon- or plastic-derived knives, single or binary explosives. Everyone does know, yes, that Semtex or Detcord or C-4 or C-5 is NOT metallic nor metallic in nature and can pass unimpeded through any metal detector?

Allow me to back up for a moment and acknowledge a few facts:

  • Sikhs originate mostly from the Punjab region of India;
  • Sikhs embrace a knife culture: “Kirpaan” (blade): Sikhs wear a blade, approximately, 6″ – 9″, on their bodies to symbolize self-respect and self-defense. It is an insult to refer to this article of Sikh faith as a knife.”
  • True Sikhs are not Muslim; from Wikipedia: “Due to the turbans Sikhs wear and the relative scarcity of Sikhs, there have been incidents of mistaking Sikhs in Western countries for Middle Eastern men and/or Muslims. This has negatively affected Sikhs living in the west especially with respect to the 9/11 terrorist attack and recent Iraq War conflict.

And yet, here is the rub:

Militant Muslims and Islamists are not stupid; they read and scan and absorb. By making this policy public it would be logical to assume that, under the guise of being Sikh, Islamists shall now attempt to take advantage of this ridiculous, puerile and knee-jerk reactive policy by TSA.

We have now provided a legal method of secreting explosives and weapons on board commercial airplanes within the United States.

Hillary Exposed

From Hugh Hewitt, quoting the New York Post:

November 8, 2007 — WASHINGTON – Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s once-commanding lead in New Hampshire has been slashed – a sign that the simmering driver’s-license controversy may have bled into the critical first-primary state, a new poll shows.

Clinton leads top Democratic rival Barack Obama by only 10 percentage points – 34 to 24 – in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, her smallest edge of the season. John Edwards comes in third, at 15 percent.

A month ago, Clinton had a 23-point lead in the same survey.

In recent postings and comments I’ve written that Hillary Clinton seems to be resiliently Teflon-like. I’m actually beginning to re-think that. A bit.

Certainly, she has the most robotic-like campaign machine extant. It is the greatest juggernaut the Demorats possess. She also has the backing of the man who gained the greatest Presidential traction imagineable, and for whom Political Teflon was named, her husband: William Jefferson Clinton.

And yet, despite all that, despite the years of cleaning, prepping, vetting, strategery, avoidance, innuendo, James Carville, behavior, insinuation, oppression, power assumed and applied, Hillary still managed to hit a Major Road Bump during the recent Demorat debate.

Because one guy, MSNBC’s Tim Russert, had the temerity to ask her an actual question, her entire world turned to shit.

Think about that for a moment, if you will. Essentially one question turned her “sure thing” into an “I’m not quite sure” thing. How is that humanly possible?

Russert actually pressed her on an answer. Russert is certainly no shrinking violet or apologist for the GOP. And yet Russert was termed a “Hitler” for even asking the question, for even pressing Clinton on the question.

And therein lies the fault: the rosy bed laid before HC for years is indeed not so rosy, and she revealed CLEARLY the massive chink in her armor:

She can’t take it. She can’t take the heat. Even a little heat. Because her life has been comparitively so rosy up to this point, so controlled, so forced, so protected. So plotted. So planned. She cannot stand even the most minute deviation. She’s been thrown bones for so damned long.

This was essentially a softball question. It involved her own state. Her own governor. Laws involving situations under which she should be cognizant.

So let’s step back a bit.

She can’t handle that question. Her supporters label Russert, the Left-leaning questioner, a Hitler. She says she was “off” that day, having answered 5,000 questions.

Folks, if she can’t field a logical softball, how can she even remotely expect to handle the fluid and ever-changing national and global landscape? Involving people who not only don’t adore her, but would care to see her, as a representative of the United States, dead?

Listen to me, GOP: Hillary Clinton positively CHOKED on a softball question!

You should KNOW what to do!

And what about the comparison between France’s Sarkozy and Hillary? What did Sarkozy recently say about America, regarding WWII?

At a time when my country had reached the final limits of its strengths, the time when France was exhausted, had spent its strength in the most absurd and bloodiest of wars, France was able to count upon the courage of american soldiers,” he said.

“I have come to say to you on behalf of the French people that never, never will we forget that,” he said.

Sarkozy loves America. Heaven forbid our DEM (Defeatit Elitist Media) should cover Sarkozy’s words. Because they of course won’t. And Hillary does not love America. Sarkozy said this week:

From the very beginning, the American Dream meant proving, to all men and woman throughout the world was not a Utopia, but quite the reverse, but the most likely to improve the fate of everyone. You built the greatest nation in the world. She said: come and the greatest limits will be your boldness, your greatness and your talents. That is what constitutes the moral value of America.

Hillary demanded, at the Beacon Theatre for her 60th birthday party recently, more government, more programs. More. More. Look and listen to the difference between those who live here, and those who don’t. Why should we rely on the President of France for affirmation of our Greatness??

Here’s a guy who comes here from France (who is Hungarian and knows all about suppression) and acknowledges that our country is the best. And he is afforded little or no press coverage. Did you read his speech? “Long live the United States of America, Long Live France, Love live United States and French partnership.”

P.S.
But of course, GOP, you don’t read me and you don’t have the balls to plot an actual strategy against Hillary. Because you’re too busy wondering what God or Jesus would do in that political situation. Because you’re turning the other cheek. Because you’re busy courting so-called Evangelicals. You know — those people first accused of conducting private affairs turned public, those people with Love Children, those loons like Pat Robertson. Like Jim Bakker. Like Ted Haggard. Like Paul Crouch. Like Jimmy Swaggart.

Hey GOP. How about growing some actual balls? How about Man’ing Up? How about cutting to the chase and calling things as they actually exist? How about getting over this “forgiving” thing and going for the fucking jugular?

The Demorats are spitting in the face of America, in the face of decency, in the face of common sense, in the face of logic, in the face of American sovereignty, and I’M FUCKING TIRED OF IT.

I’M TIRED OF THOSE WHO HATE AMERICA.

And I’m tired of those faggot PseudoCons who REFUSE TO STAND UP FOR THIS COUNTRY under the guise of either POLITICS or RELIGION, under the attempt of “getting along” to “go along.” This is NOT the time for COMPROMISE.

This, more than any other time, is the time for CLARITY, for DRAWING LINES in the sand.

Because you’re either WITH my country or you’re AGAINST my country.

Royal Scam

Royal Scam, Steely Dan, 1976:

By the blackened wall

He does it all

He thinks he’s died and gone to heaven

Now the tale is told

By the old man back home

He reads the letter

How they are paid in gold

Just to babble in the back room

All night and waste their time

And they wandered in

From the city of St. John without a dime
See the glory

Of the royal scam

Or another GLOBAL SCAM:

The founder of The Weather Channel, John Coleman, wrote:

Why Is This?

What’s to hide? Eh?

From ABC News:

Democratic frontrunner Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., has been taking heat from her Democratic and Republican opponents for the reams of papers detailing her various activities as First Lady that the National Archives has yet to release from the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library.

And now questions are being raised about why another set of papers relevant to her political career at yet another Arkansas library will not be available to the public until well after election day 2008, despite earlier indications that the papers would have been released by now.

What’s good for the GOP isn’t good for the Demorat(s)?

Our Own Terrorists

We worry about terror; terror abroad, terror from the Middle East, terror from Iran, now concerns in Pakistan.

What about terror at home? What about a problem we continuously refuse to face because we refuse to even agree about the words to describe it?

Driven to profile young black males
By Annette John-Hall
Inquirer Columnist

I am a black woman who was raised by a black man, married a black man, and gave birth to a black son.

I love black men. I am sustained by them. I know first-hand how loving they can be.

Which is why it breaks my heart to even think this, let alone write it: I’m starting to profile black men.
I know it’s harsh. Lord knows I don’t mean to sound like some of the angry readers who are so quick to profile by race, who write describing black men as nothing more than “animals,” “baboons” unfit to walk the streets. Our hearts will never be in the same place.
Still, these days in this city – 336 homicides, mostly black men killed and doing the killing, and now a 25-year veteran police officer assassinated by another black man in a hoodie – it saddens me to know that if I were to encounter a young black man on the street in a hoodie, I would fear him.
I know I’m not the only one. If I were, 54 schools wouldn’t have been on lockdown during the manhunt in Philadelphia Wednesday. SWAT units wouldn’t be swarming. Stop-and-frisk wouldn’t be in full effect in West Oak Lane and all points north and south.
Urban terrorism runs rampant.
Many killers are just kids who should be slinging backpacks in school, not packing heat in doughnut shops.
They are kids who look like my 20-year-old son.
Yesterday, Officer Chuck Cassidy died, snuffed out at the hands of a gunman trying to get money – a 6-foot-tall stocky black man with a distinguishable tattoo on his left hand.

From all reports, Cassidy, only 54, was a good cop and loving family man who took pains to check on a West Oak Lane Dunkin’ Donuts because it had been robbed before. People cried over him. That’s how much they liked him.
Now he is dead, and his wife, son and two daughters are left to plan his funeral. Officer Cassidy’s death makes three cops shot this week, five this year. If it’s open season on the people who are supposed to protect us, how safe are we?
Not very. I don’t want to hear this nonsense about the police being the enemy in the ‘hood. Let’s be real: It’s not the police who are senselessly gunning down black victims. It’s mostly black perpetrators.
“I’m not afraid of black men, I’m afraid for black men,” Lisa Jones, 40, told me yesterday as we stood talking in front of a food store on Ogontz Avenue in West Oak Lane. “I have three sons, and I get very nervous for them. For the good youth. They could be victims of the perpetrators or the police.”
Given the all-out, unrelenting manhunt for the gunman, Jones understandably is concerned – fearing a killer at large and worried for the many innocent black males who fit the profile.

“And I’m wearing a hoodie,” sighed her 17-year-old son, Mark. “As a black man, I feel awkward. The police are going to look at you a certain way – then you got to worry about a 12-year-old with a gun.”
There was quiet tension in West Oak Lane yesterday. People went about their business within the range of eagle-eyed officers in police cars that cruised throughout the stretch from 77th Street south all the way to Temple.

Norma Burger, a 61-year-old retiree from Mount Airy who was picking up her great-grandson from day-care, said that for the first time she locked her car door when a young black man walked past.
“But my main thing is, I’m embarrassed for the black race,” said Burger, who is African American. “Every time you turn around, there’s a black man with a gun.” She looked at me incredulously: “Why do they have to rob? Why can’t they get jobs? They have no ambition. I worked 35 years at my job, now my job is working for me. . . . I’m just ashamed about what’s happening.”
As is Keisha LeCoeur, a 28-year-old African American who is, as many are, praying for Officer Cassidy’s family.
“It’s really sad, the lack of concern for the value of life,” she said, shaking her head. On Halloween night, LeCoeur said, she rushed into her house and stayed in, “something I never thought I’d do.
“I’m not scared of black men, but I’m embarrassed, absolutely,” she said. “For all of this violence to be attributed to African American men . . . it just gives cause for other people to say, ‘This is why we stereotype.’ “
Face it: We’re in a crisis of spirit. And we’re going to have to battle it with some serious spiritual warfare. We all should be doing our own personal gut-check, reordering our values, understanding that no life is more precious than another. We shouldn’t think twice about turning in a killer.
African Americans once prided themselves on their dignity even in the face of discrimination and hatred. Most of us still do.
It’s the reason 10,000 African American men have committed to take a stand against violence. Vowed to protect their women and children. That notion doesn’t frighten me. It reassures me.

Still, I wonder. On the way back from West Oak Lane, I stopped to watch the kids play at Joseph Pennell Academics Plus School. Seeing young black boys, innocent grade-schoolers, jockeying with each other, playing ball, talking and laughing with girls during recess, I couldn’t help but be afraid – that one day these children might end up with a gun in their hands or be a victim themselves.
And that thought pierced me like a bullet through the heart.

So readers, what do you think? (Incidentally, the suspect in that officer’s murder has now been caught.)
