New app will keep you away from ‘sketchy’ areas; now considered “racist”

Smiling White Young Racists, Male and FemaleFirst, check SketchFactor.com.

This is now an “app” created for various smart phones, which was quantified as “SketchFactor — a community empowerment app for anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Then, with that in mind, consider the facts.  Because facts in and of themselves, these days, seem to be considered racist.

SketchFactor actually deigned to consider bad neighborhoods as bad, as criminally rife, and distinguished between areas of high crime and low crime.

By way of those terribly-racist statistics.

As Gawker.com portrayed:

Launching on Friday, SketchFactor allows users to report on, read about and navigate around potentially unsafe neighborhoods.

Almost every New Yorker has had that moment: finding oneself on a strange block in an unfamiliar neighborhood late in the evening and wondering, “am I in a bad situation?”

Well, now, there’s an app to answer that question.

SketchFactor, the brainchild of co-founders Allison McGuire and Daniel Herrington, is a Manhattan-based navigation app that crowdsources user experiences along with publicly available data to rate the relative “sketchiness” of certain areas in major cities. The app will launch on iTunes on Friday, capping off a big week for the startup, which was named as a finalist in NYC BigApps, a city-sponsored competition that promotes technologies designed to improve quality of life issues in New York City and government transparency.

According to Ms. McGuire, a Los Angeles native who lives in the West Village, the impetus behind SketchFactor was her experience as a young woman navigating the streets of Washington, D.C., where she worked at a nonprofit.

There you go.  Caucasoids being racist once again.

As “racists” — from Gawker.com — a website for the guilty Caucasoids amongst us:

Smiling Young White People Make App for Avoiding Black Neighborhoods

Crain’s reports on SketchFactor, a racist app made for avoiding “sketchy” neighborhoods, which is the term young white people use to describe places where they don’t feel safe because they watched all five seasons of The Wire.

Further:

Is there any way to keep white people from using computers, before this whole planet is ruined? I ask because the two enterprising white entrepreneurs above just made yet another app for avoiding non-white areas of your town—and it’s really taking off!

But here’s the great kicker:

There’s An App That Shows You Which Neighborhoods Are ‘Sketchy,’ And A News Crew Got Robbed While Using It

In DC — imagine that!

by Alyson Shontell

Oh, the irony.

A Washington D.C. news crew says it was robbed in Petworth, Northwest D.C., while reporting on a controversial app that shows users where “sketchy” neighborhoods. The news crew said the app led them to the location of the shoot.

While the D.C. news crew didn’t specifically name the app they were reporting on, it sounds a lot like SketchFactor, an app that was recently featured in Valleywag, Business Insider and other outlets as an app with a racist connotation. “Smiling Young White People Make An App for Avoiding Black Neighborhoods,” Valleywag’s Sam Biddle wrote.

“We were doing a story on an app that describes ‘sketchy’ neighborhoods,” WUSA 9 crew member Mola Lenghi told his network on air Friday evening.

“It led us to the Petworth neighborhood of Northwest, and I’m not going to call it a ‘sketchy’ neighborhood, but as folks were telling us that it was a good neighborhood, and that not much activity happens around there — as that was being told to us, our van was being robbed.”

Lenghi showed the van’s destroyed lock and says a number of electronics and bags were stolen from the vehicle.

Perhaps I might distill some things down to this:

Statistics, meet Reality.  Shake hands and come out fighting.

Pro-gun BLACK Sheriff wins re-election in Wisconsin

Sheriff David ClarkeFrom the WashingtonTimes.com:

Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun money up in smoke as pro-gun sheriff wins in Wisconsin

by Cheryl K. Chumley

A pro-gun incumbent sheriff in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, beat back the anti-gun money of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to win his primary contest for re-election by a handy margin, 52-48 percent.

First “stream-of-consciousness” gut reaction: so screw you, Michael Bloomberg, you and your anti-gun rhetoric — when you happen to enjoy the comfort of a trained security team brimming with concealed firearms beneath their blazers no matter where you go.

It’s “fine” for you but completely verboten for the Groundlings, the Rabble, the Proles, the Commoners.

Sheriff David Clarke, a Democrat, is now almost sure to win in November because no Republican is challenging him, The Washington Post reported.

The race took on national tones just last week when Mr. Bloomberg — who helps head the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group and who has taken up a personal crusade to scale back Second Amendment rights — threw in $150,000 to defeat Sheriff Clarke. That amount was more than what Sheriff Clarke and his opponent, Chris Moews, spent on their entire campaigns, The Post reported.

This must be so terribly painful for Michael Bloomberg — (I hope it pains him terribly!) — because not only a pro-gun BLACK MAN acquired the position, but also because Clarke is a Demorat and because Bloomberg’s money did nothing.

Sheriff Clarke made national headlines with a public service ad in 2013 in which Townhall reported he stated, in part: “I’m Sheriff David Clarke and I want to talk to you about something personal: Your safety. It’s no longer a spectator sport. I need you in the game. But are you ready? With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. … Consider taking a certified safety course in handling of firearms, so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

The sheriff was also a featured speaker at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Indianapolis — during which he harshly criticized Mr. Bloomberg’s anti-gun efforts.

Oh my.  That must so grate on Mr Bloomberg.  A successful black Demorat sheriff who is pro-gun and spoke before the NRA.  I hope it wears and tears like a kidney stone, Mr Bloomberg.  Your money did nothing, sir.

There is indeed a sliver of hope for Wisconsin.

Obama Told Lawmakers Criticism of His Syria Policy is ‘Horsesh*t’

Obama's The Beast Limousine, RearMy.  Is Mr Obama disassembling right before our very eyes?

From the DailyBeast.com:

by Josh Rogin

Hillary Clinton and congressmen alike have called on Obama to arm Syria’s rebels. But the president fumed at lawmakers in a private meeting for suggesting he should’ve done more.

President Obama got angry at lawmakers who suggested in a private meeting that he should have armed the Syrian rebels, calling the criticism “horseshit.”The argument that America should have done more in Syria, made for years by foreign policy leaders in both parties and several members of Obama’s senior national security team, was brought back to the fore this past weekend. Obama and Hillary Clinton gave dueling interviews in which they publicly split on whether the security and humanitarian catastrophe in Syria could have been avoided if the United States had played a larger role. Obama’s outburst on July 31, one week prior, reveals the criticism was already getting to him, even before the White House tried to deflect Clinton’s remarks as pre-presidential political posturing.

Always verbose, intelligent and mature, Obama and the Spite House.  Particularly when the watch phrase “don’t do stupid shit” is looked upon as actual policy.

Dr Keith Ablow: depression is the Grand Imposter

Robin Williams wasn’t God, he wasn’t imperial, he wasn’t a dictator, a ruler, an evil man, a politician — or even an “important man.”  Except that he was.

He possessed one quality that so few of us have: the ability to make us laugh and, simultaneously, to make us examine ourselves.  His was one of the absolute quickest wits on the planet, meeting and surpassing his mentor, Jonathan Winters — who was also disturbed:

I watched Jonathan Winters on his own and other numerous television shows.  He was in fact a comic genius and also challenged mentally, spending eight months in a mental hospital in 1959 and again in 1961.  He was diagnosed as bipolar.

On Monday, August 11th, Robin Williams took his own life in his oceanside home in Tiburon, Fornicalia, by hanging.  Asphyxia.

Dr Ablow said:

Robin Williams, a comic genius and one of the great storytellers of our time, apparently chose to end his life because he could not see the next chapter of his own story as containing anything other than unbearable psychological pain.

Such is the power of depression – an affliction which is almost unimaginable to those who have not suffered with it — to twist the truth into something unrecognizable. For the truth is that there were many new and wonderful pages awaiting Robin Williams; he just couldn’t imagine them. He couldn’t believe the darkness would ever end.

Dr Ablow has stated this perfectly.  And with truth that so cuts to the story.  The real story.

Depression is the grand imposter — posing as all powerful.  It can be defeated, every time, if you or the person you care about confronts it like the grand imposter that it is.

Depression is always, to an extent, a psychotic illness. It steals reality — which is, in large measure, defined by the completely justifiable hope in tomorrow’s possibilities — and replaces it with a world in which one doubts his or her abilities, discounts to zero his or her past successes, doubts love, doubts friendship and doubts God.

In its worst forms, it is much more than profound sadness; it is the conviction that nothing good will ever occur, sometimes coupled with horrific and constant anxiety that something unspeakably terrible is about to happen–in a minute, or this very night, or tomorrow.

I can tell you that I have been where Robin Williams was then.

I was there when I encountered my divorce.  I can clearly remember sitting on my sloped concrete driveway in the Greenhaven Pocket area, at night, wondering why I was kicked out of my own house — sitting in front of it — why my wife no longer loved me, why my life was completely collapsing around me.  I simply lacked the capability to understand.  It was summer.  My tears hit the concrete and then dried in an instant, as though they had never even happened.  My tears were like my life, then.  I concluded this.

As though the past seven years had never occurred.

I went to work, in Patrol, and didn’t wear my vest.  My beat partner noticed this and my supervisor noticed this.  I didn’t care.  If I got shot I got shot and I couldn’t have cared less.

But they cared.  They took me aside and spoke to me individually.  Not like supervisors or cops but man-to-man.  Like peers.  I will never forget them or their efforts.

In 1987 and 1988, they kept me alive.

I was looking at the Short Game.  They were looking at the Long Game.

This is an incredible paragraph, and a telling one from Dr Ablow:

I utterly refuse to give up and will deploy any and every tool at my disposal to win, because I know that every, single case of major depression is a puzzle that can potentially be solved.  Every one of them.  No exception.  Period.

I lived.  I survived.  Many a trauma and many more future difficulties.  Things that, in retrospect, would have felled lesser mortals.  I’ve been a cop for 41+ years.  And have been involved in any number of critical incidents to include the taking of a life.

I am proud of that.  Of my survival.  Despite the odds.

And I am here today — to be proud of that — because I did not act on my darkest of days.

Obama The King says: “Extremist ideology” and “balkanization” of the media keep me from getting my way

Obama Imperial CloakedThis is King Obama brooking no dissent, no pushback, no differences, no disagreements, no discussions, no consideration of other points of view.

This is Obama The Imperial.

From Breitbart.com:

Obama: ‘Extremist Ideology’ That’s Taken Over GOP, ‘Balkanization of Media’ Has ‘Blocked’ My Agenda

by Matthew Boyle

President Barack Obama said the power of conservative opposition, including in the media, is blocking his agenda in an interview with New York Times columnist Tom Friedman late last week.

“What you’ve seen with our politics, partly because of gerrymandering, partly because of the Balkanization of media so people just watch what reinforces their deepest biases, partly because of big money in politics, is increasingly politicians are rewarded for taking the most extreme, maximalist positions,” Obama told the liberal Times columnist. “Sooner or later, that catches up with you. You end up not being able to move forward on things we need to move forward on. We need to reform our immigration system. That would be good not just for our domestic economy but for our position in the world. You travel around Latin America—nothing would more reinforce an admiration for the United States than us doing that. We need to rebuild our infrastructure. You go to the Singapore airport and then you come back to one of our airports and you say, huh? We’re not acting like a superpower.”

Given some of the policy issues he lists, especially immigration, Obama seems to be referring to the Tea Party in his comments about a faction in the GOP that has “blocked” his agenda by taking “extreme, maximalist positions.” Another way of looking at his remarks is a testament to the strength of the grassroots movement’s power.

An interesting final paragraph:

“This is a defining issue of our time,” [Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)] Sessions said. “History books will write how much power President Obama grabbed and exercised if he’s not stopped and he goes through with this plan. So it’s a matter of constitutional order as well as a matter of important public policy. Just imagine if six million more people are legalized, how will anybody be deported? How will anybody be deterred from coming to the country unlawfully? It will amount to the collapse of law enforcement. I think the Senate has to confront this—and the American people need to know why is it that Harry Reid has been blocking votes. It has nothing to do with time. We spent days negotiating it to try to get a vote when we could have cast 20 votes. The reason is, he does not want his members to have to cast votes because it will expose their position. They’re saying things in their states that are different than what they’re voting for in the Senate—or avoiding voting for.”

Illegal invasion grates on me for any number of reasons, not the least of which is the flaunting of American laws.  We are a nation of laws allegedly equally applied — except that they are not.  Both the federal government and illegal invaders are picking and choosing which laws they wish to obey, and which laws they wish to disregard.

Can you imagine the hue and cry if I — and many, many others like me — were to pick and choose which laws we wished to obey with an equally cavalier amount of disdain?

The unrestrained flood of illegal invaders is a nation-changing event.  These are people who, now, are uninterested in assimilating, in speaking English, in paying taxes, in becoming part of the American culture.  They wish to stay in their enclaves, speaking their native languages, and expecting that their whims will be catered to.

And their whims include free medical, free tuition to universities, priority over others.  And that is wrong.

As I found in a Union Pacific locomotive a few years ago:

Govt Big Enuff“Extremist ideology”?  The “Balkanization” of the American Media Maggots?

Frankly, I don’t believe it for a second.  The AMM continue to be “in the tank” for Obama, doing their level best to carry his water — and they plan to do it for the full eight years.

And dissension?  Let’s have a review of “dissent” from Shrillary Rodham Clinton, shall we?  She says it is patriotic to disagree.

Except that, apparently, it is NOT patriotic to disagree with Mr Obama.

Instead, disagreement is declared as racist.

Mr Obama simply wants his way, and if he doesn’t get it:
