Quinnipiac Poll: Barack Obama Worst President Since WWII, Say We’d Be Better Off With Romney

Who says Obama is coming out at the bottom of every poll. In a Quinnipiac University National Poll released Wednesday, Barack Obama was rated the worst president since World War II, (33 %), “Dubya” Bush was number two, followed by Nixon and Carter.  As expected “Dubya” was the worst for the Democrats, but Obama was worst for the GOP and more importantly for the Independents (36% to Dubya’s 23%)

Ronald Reagan was voted the best president since WWII, followed by Bill Clinton, and JFK. Obama was voted #4 based on Democrats’ vote (he got only 2% of independents and 4% of Republicans). Note the 2% who voted for Carter may need institutionalization).

Wow.  Kind of harsh.

Makes me smile, however.

MURRIETA — An American flag has reportedly been burned by pro-amnesty protesters near the Murrieta Border Patrol station on America’s Independence Day.

Breitbart News obtained the above photograph, which shows a burnt flag on the ground, from an anti-illegal immigration activist who was monitoring the pro-amnesty demonstration.

Opponents of illegal immigration had gathered in Murrieta to stop Friday’s planned transfer of Central American illegal aliens, as they did earlier this week. A pro-amnesty counter-demonstration was organized in response.

So this is what happens: you come to our country, you spit in our faces on our Independence Day, burn our flag, then hold out your hands for Free Cheese as pro-amnesty demonstrators in Murrieta shout, “F*** America!”

Worse: our president encourages you to do this.To Mr Obama and Demorats: your day is coming.  American Taxpayers are becoming more restless by the week.

Louis Zamperini, American hero, soldier, patriot, passes at age 97

If you have not yet, you need to purchase a copy of Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, in order to understand the massive courage, strength, fortitude, courage and patriotism of Louis Zamperini, who passed away early Thursday at the age of 97, after a 40 day battle with pneumonia.

He was absolutely everything The Greatest Generation embodied, and then some.

Louis Zamperini Wins the Mile in Seattle, 1939Louis Zamperini, born in New York in 1917, was a young roustabout who developed a penchant for running after his family moved to Torrance in Southern California in 1919.  Because the family spoke no English, Louis’s father taught him to box for self-defense.  After getting into various forms of trouble behind that, Louis took up track.

In 1934, Zamperini set a world interscholastic record for the mile, clocking in at 04:21.2 at the preliminary meet to the state championships.  He won a scholarship to USC for his track skills.  Whilst at USC, Zamperini qualified for a spot on the 1936 US Olympics team, held in Berlin, Germany.

Zamperini met Adolf Hitler. Hitler shook his hand, and said simply “Ah, you’re the boy with the fast finish.”  Zamperini then stole a flag from Hitler.  Guts.

Two years later, in 1938, Zamperini set a national collegiate mile record of 4:08 despite severe cuts to his shins from competitors attempting to spike him during the race.  This record held for fifteen years, earning him the nickname “Torrance Tornado”.

Louis Zamparini, WWIILouis enlisted in the USAAF and was, as a bombardier, at his base assigned a final plane to fly in order to search for a lost crew.  This aircraft was a piece of crap and went down into the ocean, killing 8 of the 11 men aboard.

His commander knew the plane was a piece of crap.

It still sealed his and the fate of others: he would face his torturer directly and then triumph over incredibly-stacked odds.

And this only after 47 days adrift upon the open ocean and then captured by the Japanese Navy on the 48th.

From 1943 until August of 1945, Zamperini was kept as a POW.  He was tortured and specifically targeted for torment by prison guard Mutsuhiro Watanabe (nicknamed “The Bird”), who was later included in General Douglas MacArthur’s list of the 40 most wanted war criminals in Japan.

Zamperini was first declared “missing at sea,” and then “missing in action.”  He was held at the same camp that then-Major Greg “Pappy” Boyington, in his book, Baa Baa Black Sheep, was held.

Conflicted and suffering from what we now know as PTSD, Zamperini became a born-again Christian in 1949.  He made it a point to forgive The Bird.

He said, after that, he finally began to sleep at night.

And now, perhaps you’re just finally beginning to understand who Louis Zamperini truly was.

For his 81st birthday in January 1998, Zamperini ran a leg in the Olympic Torch relay for the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. While there, he attempted to meet with his chief and most brutal tormentor during the war, Mutsuhiro Watanabe, who had evaded prosecution as a war criminal, but the latter refused to see him. In March 2005 he returned to Germany to visit the Berlin Olympic Stadium for the first time since he competed there.[23]

There was no other.  Louis Zamperini was the best and the greatest of the great.  He became an inspirational speaker who allowed others to see their plight and then exceed expectations.

His was a cause that Angelina Jolie took up, to the point that he became inspiration for a movie to be released later this year — which he will not see terrestrially.

The movie “Unbroken” will be released at Christmas this year.

I have touched only but upon a few highlights of this wonderful man’s life.

Yes it is — yes it is, Louis Silvie Zamperini.  You lived life to the fullest, met every challenge head on, survived, thrived and looked death and adventure in the eye.  You were the true embodiment of every good thing about The Greatest Generation.

He was scheduled to be the Grand Marshal of the 2015 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.

“After a 40-day long battle for his life, he peacefully passed away in the presence of his entire family, leaving behind a legacy that has touched so many lives,” the family statement said. “His indomitable courage and fighting spirit were never more apparent than in these last days.”

How perfect that I write of you for my 4th of July post.

The EPA: feces in the hallway

Forget toxic waste dumps, the Environmental Protection Agency apparently has a more immediate cleanup problem in its own backyard: An employee defecating in the hallway.

GovernmentExecutive.com, the government’s business news daily and key website for federal managers and executives, reported Wednesday that the EPA management for Region 8 in Denver sent an e-mail earlier this month to staff pleading to stop inappropriate bathroom behavior, including defecating in the hallway.

I ask again: are you serious?  The answer: completely serious.

Ladies and gentlemen, these are your tax dollars at work.

You are paying for some federal government employee to crap on various hallways.  And for other federal employees to discover same.

Here’s the critical excerpt from the article:

In the email, obtained by Government Executive, Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor mentioned “several incidents” in the building, including clogging the toilets with paper towels and “an individual placing feces in the hallway” outside the restroom.

I’ll wager your job site has a similar plea: please don’t leave your personal feces in the hallway.

Just as it has an operations order regarding the preference of not pissing in your cubicle, but in actual toilets ascribed to the two genders.  As antiquated as that may be.

But, laughingly, here’s where the Leftist Captain Obvious steps in:

Confounded by what to make of this occurrence, EPA management “consulted” with workplace violence “national expert” John Nicoletti, who said that hallway feces is in fact a health and safety risk. He added the behavior was “very dangerous” and the individuals responsible would “probably escalate” their actions.

“Management is taking this situation very seriously and will take whatever actions are necessary to identify and prosecute these individuals,” Cantor wrote. He asked for any employees with knowledge of the poop bandit or bandits to notify their supervisor.

I actually had to write this post.  And I actually had to ascribe sources to its material.  And keep a straight face.

That bespeaks volumes in and of itself.

Illegal immigrant children’s facility: “What are they trying to hide?”

Rep. Jim Bridenstine turned away at HHS facility in Oklahoma by security.

Even a US Congressman cannot get in to a HHS facility where illegal immigrant children are being warehoused.

“What are they trying to hide?” he asked.

As I posted yesterday, physicians and medical staff are being threatened with arrest regarding illegal immigrant children:

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

A Health and Human Services official refused to allow a member of Congress to enter a facility in his district where some of the unaccompanied immigrant children are being housed.

Representative Jim Bridenstine (R., Okla.) was told he could schedule an appointment for July 21. “​What are they trying to hide?” Bridenstine said after the incident. “​Do they not want the children to speak with Members of Congress? As a Navy pilot, I have been involved in operations countering illicit human trafficking. I would like to know to whom these children are being released.”

Precisely: “What are they trying to hide?”

Here is part of what I believe they are trying to hide: the terrible condition of these children, the diseases they carry, and perhaps even the beginning of a type of disease that can readily go epidemical.

Revealed, Leftists know there would be a clear backlash against further illegal immigrants and children allowed into the nation — and rightly so.  Very rightly so.

The congressman said that a security guard at the Fort Sill, Okla., facility refused to let him enter the barracks without HHS approval even though he is a member of Congress.

But here’s the rub: he was a Republican congressman.  We know what would have occurred had the man been a Demorat.

“There is no excuse for denying a Federal Representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held,” Bridenstine said in the press release. ”Any Member of Congress should have the legal authority to visit a federal youth detention facility without waiting three weeks.”

Congressman Jim Bridenstine (OK) was denied access yesterday to the HHS facility at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma currently housing up to 1,200 unaccompanied alien children (UAC) who illegally crossed the southern border into the United States.

Congressman Bridenstine said, “There is no excuse for denying a Federal Representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held.  Any Member of Congress should have the legal authority to visit a federal youth detention facility without waiting three weeks.”

The Health and Human Services (HHS) official who appears to be in charge of the facility told Congressman Bridenstine he could schedule an appointment for July 21.  HHS Deputy Director of the Office of Public Affairs, Ken Wolfe, would not take the Congressman’s phone call.  The Congressman was told to send Mr. Wolfe an email as that was the preferred method of communication.  Congressman Bridenstine’s email to Mr. Wolfe included this press release.

“After my visit today with the base commander, I approached the barracks where the children are housed.  A new fence has been erected by HHS, completely surrounding the barracks and covered with material to totally obscure the view.  Every gate is chained closed.   

“I approached a security guard and asked to speak with the manager of the facility.  The guard called his supervisor who said no visitors were allowed.  I asked if they were aware that I am a Member of Congress.  Eventually the manager came out and said that I would have to go through HHS legislative affairs and that the first chance to visit would be July 21st.

“What are they trying to hide?  Do they not want the children to speak with Members of Congress?  As a Navy pilot, I have been involved in operations countering illicit human trafficking.  I would like to know to whom these children are being released.”

Ft. Sill is one of three facilities in the U.S. currently housing the unaccompanied alien children.  The Administration policy is that after they are apprehended on the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the children are transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for transport, and then placed in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) until released to a so-called “sponsor” in the U.S.
