A USBP cop with guts: “this is amnesty”

Illegal Kids Cross US Border“We don’t have control of the border.”

And that is clearly purposeful.

Mr Obama, the deaths of Mexican and South American men, women and children are on you, sir.  The coming spread of disease from illegal immigrants to lawful Americans is on you, sir.  (It is already occurring with Border Patrol agents and in shelters.)  Forcing local and state economies to take on the extra fiscal and infrastructural strain (and possible bankrupture) is on you, sir.

It is your laissez-faire attitude regarding our southern border that is responsible for these terrible things.  And I submit that, behind the scenes, your actions — and mostly inactions — are plotting and intentional.

You are very aware, sir, of the Cloward-Piven Strategy, having been schooled at the feet of such luminaries as Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, Reverend Wright, Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven.

Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY).said, regarding the forced transportation of illegals from the southern border all the way up to the state of New York:

“It is unacceptable the federal government is trying to force the hardworking taxpayers of New York to foot the bill to house undocumented immigrants,” said Congressman Chris Collins. “The President’s actions have fueled the current crises along the southern border, and now New York residents are being directly impacted by his irresponsible actions. If President Obama was committed to enforcing the immigration laws currently in place, this would not be an issue. Instead, the President has decided to pick and choose which laws he wants to enforce, creating an environment where wrongdoing goes unpunished.”

Then there is the USBP agent:

Border Patrol Agent: ‘If the Administration Says This Isn’t Amnesty, Don’t Believe Them’

by Brittany M. Hughes

(CNSNews.com) — Albert Spratte, the sergeant-at-arms of the National Border Patrol Council, Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, said the Obama administration is largely to blame for waves of  illegal immigrants that have been flooding the Southwest U.S. border since February, saying the government opened the door for the crisis by making it “clear they’re not going to deport people.”

Spratte, who was speaking with CNSNews.com as a representative of the union, further said “we don’t have control of the border,” and if the Obama administration claims it is not in effect giving amnesty to the illegals, then “don’t believe them.”

Also, by allowing so many young illegal aliens to be released into this country, “the U.S. government has become a part of the smuggling business,” he said.

And that is the incredible truth: America has now deliberately become a part of the smuggling business.  The US Spite House as Mexican coyote — taking its “La Mordida” in terms of votes and lives.

The Mexican situational straw that broke the camel’s back?

Mexican-Army

The above incident occurred in March of this year, involving the Mexican military.

From CBSLasVegas.com:

Report: Mexican Military Chopper Crosses Into US, Shoots At Border Agents

TUCSON, Ariz. (CBS Las Vegas)Border Patrol agents in Arizona were reportedly fired upon by a Mexican military helicopter that traveled across the border.

KVOA-TV reports that Mexican authorities were conducting a drug interdiction operation when the incident happened early Thursday morning on the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. The Mexican chopper fired at the agents and then flew back into Mexico.

Art del Cueto, Border Patrol Tucson Sector union president, tells KVOA that they called and apologized for the incident.

“The incident occurred after midnight and before 6 a.m. Helicopter flew into the U.S. and fired on two U.S. Border Patrol agents,” del Cueto said in a statement to KVOA. “The incident occurred west of the San Miguel gate on the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. The agents were unharmed. The helicopter went back into Mexico. Mexico then contacted U.S. authorities and apologized for the incident.”

Andy Adame, Border Patrol spokesperson, said that Mexican authorities fired two shots at the border agents.

“Two shots were fired from the helicopter but no injuries or damage to U.S. property were reported,” Adame told KVOA.

The incident is under investigation.

America, have we finally had enough?

Supreme Court bans warrantless cell phone searches, updates privacy laws

WarrantI couldn’t agree more with the Supreme Court.  And I’m a cop.

From the WashingtonTimes.com:

Major ruling updates privacy laws for 21st century

by Stephen Dinan

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that police cannot go snooping through people’s cell phones without a warrant, in a unanimous decision that amounts to a major statement in favor of privacy rights.

Police agencies had argued that searching through the data on cell phones was no different than asking someone to turn out his pockets, but the justices rejected that, saying a cell phone is more fundamental.

Those making the argument on behalf of law enforcement that searching a cell phone is no more intrusive than turning out pockets, are daft and liars and in contravention of the 4th Amendment.

Which I have sworn to uphold and take quite seriously.

In more “layman’s” terms: that argument is bullshit.

Cell phones are no longer just phones.  They no longer just take calls.  They now can represent an entire person’s life in the digital age.  They have contact lists, internet links, calendared events, assignments, lists, apps, e-mails and providers, and just about every footprint imagined in today’s digital world.

They are a far cry from the original brick phones used solely for convenient phone calls from semi-distant locations.

Justice Roberts nails it:

“The fact that technology now allows an individual to carry such information in his hand does not make the information any less worthy of the protection for which the Founders fought,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. wrote for the unanimous court.

“Our answer to the question of what police must do before searching a cell phone seized incident to an arrest is accordingly simple— get a warrant.”

Which is, quite simply, what I’ve had to do for years.  If I valued my information, my evidence, my statements, my witnesses, my chronology, my informants, I was forced to acquire a warrant as “your affiant” and submitted to a lawful judge in my jurisdiction.

I should not be able to search your cell phone on a vehicle stop.  I should not be able to search your phone on a domestic violence call.  I should not be able to search your cell phone on a fight call.  I should not be able to search your cell phone on a theft call.

Not unless I can ascribe truly probative and evidentiary value to it, and make a direct linkage between your cell phone and the crime I allege you to have committed.

Down to the heart of the matter:

Justices even said police cannot check a cellphone’s call log, saying even those contain more information that just phone numbers, and so perusing them is a violation of privacy that can only be justified with a warrant.

The chief justice said cellphones are different not only because people can carry around so much more data — the equivalent of millions of pages of documents — that police would have access to, but that the data itself is qualitatively different than what someone might otherwise carry.

He said it could lay bare someone’s entire personal history, from their medical records to their “specific movements down to the minute.”

You want it?

Do what I’ve had to do for years.

Get a warrant.

I can only hope the issue of the NSA is next.

United Nations Seeks US-based Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Specialists

More Gun LawsFrom SHTFPlan.com:

by Mac Slavo

It’s no secret that the United Nations, with assistance from members of the Executive and Legislative branches in the United States, has been actively working to reduce Americans’ accessibility to firearms. In 2012 President Obama, along with then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, spearheaded a backdoor move that would have imposed gun control on the United States through foreign means by signing a global disarmament initiative known as the Small Arms Treaty. Though that attempt failed, mass shooting incidents at Sandy Hook and elsewhere have kept the pressure on gun owners with the President having made repeated suggestions that he would mandate gun restrictions through Executive Order should state and federal legislatures fail to act.

With that in mind, you can now apply for the position of DISARMAMENT, DEMOBILIZATION AND REINTEGRATION OFFICER on the United Nations website, as documented here.

UN Disarm America 1I am not kidding.  Please click the link.  Now check the job requirements:

UN Disarm America 2According to the United Nations information page on ‘DDR’ operations, the New York post will involve various aspects related to the process by which a governing organization would confiscate firearms, all of which target what the U.N. calls “small arms.”

Therefore, now, you too can help America to disarm itself for the greater good of the United Nations.

Only Leftists may apply.

By the way, a current debate topic in Leftist Land is: “Should the Second Amendment be repealed?”  One salient comment:

The Criminal Insane

Think of Sandy Hook Elementary. Think of the Boston Marathon Bombing. The explosion of the Twin Towers? People who stand FOR this amendment… Are you saying these don’t matter? Because of this amendment, people are killed every day of the week! My opinion is that any rank above a state cop is allowed to bear weapons such as guns. Local police should have their regular bats and tasers. Any citizen of the U.S. Who has a weapon by ANY reason should immediately be subject to deportation!

“Regular police” and deputy sheriffs should only be armed with “bats and tasers.”  Perhaps they could also wield sarcasm, frowning glances and sinister miens.  Harsh language could be utilized but only to the degree that it doesn’t denigrate the emotive processes of criminals.

Deport those heinous gun owners and Second Amendment adherers.

Vanity Fair has already advocated for the elimination of our Second Amendment.

Another interesting comment:

This is an archaic amendment, much like prohibition, and owning slaves.

I look to our closest allies for the right way to do it. Look at England and Australia. Both countries have banned guns, and the amount of gun violence and suicides from guns have gone down. Look at Israel, where they have strict gun laws. The Israeli soldiers are not allowed to take their arms home and the amount of military suicides from guns has gone down. We should make gun laws stricter. Any criminals using guns get the max. A law like this would take care of the “only criminals will have guns” argument. Make guns highly illegal with severe punishments. This country, much like countries in the Middle East, is too in love with guns. They are not a toy. They are really not even a tool. They are a killing device.

UK Armed Police at AirportFirst, England and Australia are armed nations.  Their governmental authorities are armed.  Armed UK authorities are endemic in London.  Their citizens are purposely not armed.

You do not yet see armed officers in US airports carrying fully automatic weapons, as the UK gent is here, to the left.  Plus, he needs to get a closer shave.  He would not pass the muster of my team.

And what about Switzerland?

The Swiss are an issue.

From, of all places, Time.com:

The Swiss Difference: A Gun Culture That Works

The country had one mass shooting in 2001, but a resulting anti-gun referendum failed to pass. The Swiss will not give up the gun. Can their system work in the U.S.?

Even as the gun-control debate rises again in the U.S. in the aftermath of the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Conn., the gun-loving Swiss are not about to lay down their arms. Guns are ubiquitous in this neutral nation, with sharpshooting considered a fun and wholesome recreational activity for people of all ages.

Even though Switzerland has not been involved in an armed conflict since a standoff between Catholics and Protestants in 1847, the Swiss are very serious not only about their right to own weapons but also to carry them around in public. Because of this general acceptance and even pride in gun ownership, nobody bats an eye at the sight of a civilian riding a bus, bike or motorcycle to the shooting range, with a rifle slung across the shoulder.

Switzerland?  A Gun Culture?  Who would have thought?

Plus, as the person above would have us enact, “Any criminals using guns get the max.”

Do criminals now get the proverbial “max”?  No, they do not.  That would be racist to attach a “max” penalty to gun possession/use charges upon conviction.

Beware of persons wearing Google Glass

Google Glass GlassholesAnother reason they are called Glassholes.

From Wired.com:

Google Glass Snoopers Can Steal Your Passcode With a Glance

by Andy Greenberg

The odds are you can’t make out the PIN of that guy with the sun glaring obliquely off his iPad’s screen across the coffee shop. But if he’s wearing Google Glass or a smartwatch, he probably can see yours.

Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Lowell found they could use video from wearables like Google Glass and the Samsung smartwatch to surreptitiously pick up four-digit PIN codes typed onto an iPad from almost 10 feet away—and from nearly 150 feet with a high-def camcorder. Their software, which used a custom-coded video recognition algorithm that tracks the shadows from finger taps, could spot the codes even when the video didn’t capture any images on the target devices’ displays.

“I think of this as a kind of alert about Google Glass, smartwatches, all these devices,” says Xinwen Fu, a computer science professor at UMass Lowell who plans to present the findings with his students at the Black Hat security conference in August. “If someone can take a video of you typing on the screen, you lose everything.”

Read the rest of the article carefully; there is good information regarding situational awareness of your surroundings.

Be aware of your passcodes, as you enter them into your phone or your tablet or your iPad or your ATM or any device requiring such a code.  It’s not just people watching; it’s people with devices able to divulge your keystrokes, the placement of your eyes, your fingers, accomplished with apps designed for just such a thing.
