Court affirms Mass. murderer’s right to get sex change in prison

BOSTON –  A federal appeals court on Friday upheld a judge’s ruling granting a taxpayer-funded sex change operation for a transgender inmate serving a life sentence for a murder conviction, saying receiving medically necessary treatment is a constitutional right that must be protected “even if that treatment strikes some as odd or unorthodox.”

U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled in 2012 that the state Department of Correction must provide sex reassignment surgery for Michelle Kosilek, who was born as Robert Kosilek and is serving a life sentence for the killing of his wife in 1990.

The Department of Correction challenged the ruling at the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Its lawyers argued Kosilek has received adequate treatment for gender identity disorder, including female hormone treatments, laser hair removal and psychotherapy. Prison officials said those treatments have eased the stress and anxiety felt by Kosilek, and they argued it was unnecessary to heed advice from independent medical experts who recommended the 64-year-old undergo the sex change surgery as the next step of treating her intense gender identity disorder.

The defense attorney said:

“This decision is really about more than sexual reassignment surgery,” Sulman said. “It’s about the state’s requirement to treat all prisoners equally regardless of their gender identity or regardless of the circumstances.”

That’s odd.  I thought the duty of state governments was to incarcerate inmates and provide the basics in terms of food, shelter, programs, etc.

We shouldn’t forget:

Kosilek was convicted of killing Cheryl Kosilek, a volunteer counselor at a drug rehabilitation facility who thought she could cure his gender identity disorder.

This piece of shite is a convicted murderer.  Not a suspected murderer.  Not a person of interest.  A CONVICTED murderer.

You tax dollars at work, Massachusetts.

Imagine this: a speech made by an individual — in Salem, Oregon — in front of a large audience, off-the-cuff, extemporaneously, with no TelePrompter, consulting no notes.  That in itself kicks Mr Obama to the proverbial Speech Curb.

And yet, in full view of her peers — the toughest audience of all — Tami Jackson kicks some major Second Amendment butt in front of the Oregon State Capitol.

Obama: my approval ratings are down because Caucasoids are racist

Obama Says Racial Animus Blunts Approval, New Yorker Reports

President Barack Obama said that racial tensions may have softened his popularity among white voters within the last two years, according to a story posted on the New Yorker magazine’s website today.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.

But this time it’s not an Obama Minion claiming this.

It’s Obama Himself, throwing down the pettiest and cheapest card ever.

I am so tired of the hackneyed, puerile, obvious, cheap and patronizing old saw that Caucasoids are racist simply because of their melanin.  I’d posit the reverse about blacks, having voted skin color over competence in 2008 and again in 2012.  I am so over that trite card — the race card.

It’s what gets played when Obama — and his sycophants — have no other move.  It’s what defense attorneys do in court when they lack a cogent argument and the facts and the case go against them: the cheap and personal attack.

Which is why I shall continue to point out the obvious on my blog: blacks can be every bit — or more — racist than Caucasoids.

And: they’ve got the GOWPs and the AMM in their pockets.
