Just months after he gave a speech earlier this year that challenged America’s leadership in President Obama’s presence, Dr. Ben Carson was targeted by IRS agents who requested to review his real estate holdings and then conducted a full audit without finding any wrongdoing.

“I guess it could be a coincidence, but I never had been audited before and never really had any encounters with the IRS,” Dr. Carson said in an interview Thursday with The Washington Times. “But it certainly would make one suspicious because we know now the IRS has been used for political purposes and therefore actions like this come under suspicion.”

As Dr Carson indicates, I am absolutely and positively certain that his being subject to an IRS audit is only the most remote of coincidences.  The current Obama Administration would never be as base as that of the most repressive of Soviet regimes.

Dr. Carson told The Times that IRS agents contacted him in June — less than four months after the speech — and requested to review his real estate holdings. After finding nothing that concerned them, the agents then informed him they were conducting a full audit of his finances, and then asked to go back an additional year to review his records, he said.

This, too, is a nice line from Dr Ben Carson:

“I guess I’m surprised it took them that long.”

The IRS politicized?  The Obama Administration using its power to try to smash dissent and/or punish those who would go against the president?

Perish the thought.

Harry Reid: “why would we want to do that?”

And what was that statement in reference to?

Harry Reid being asked the question: “If you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?”

Harry Reid’s answer: “Why would we want to do that?”

And there is your caring, nurturing Leftist and Demorat contingent, with Harry Reid in charge.

REID: Why would we want to do that? I have 1100 people at Nellis Air Force Base sitting home. They have problems of their own.

There you go, thanks to Harry Reid.

Out of the mouth of Harry Reid.  And then time to insult the AMM female who asks the question in the first place.  A Leftist AMM who deigns to ask an actual question that Mr Reid doesn’t wish to answer.  When you don’t have a cogent argument, as it is said time and again, make the attacks personal.  How does it feel, Bash?

Novelist Tom Clancy, passed at age 66

Tom ClancyTom Clancy, who began his very lucrative writing career with his first novel, The Hunt for Red October (and published by the Naval Institute Press), has passed away at age 66.

According to the Publishers Weekly Twitter account, American author Tom Clancy died Wednesday in a Baltimore hospital at age 66.  A cause of death has not been revealed.

In 2002,  Forbes wrote, “Clancy can produce a guaranteed bestseller just by writing two words: his name.”

“When it comes to leveraging his brand across multiple channels, he is positively protean,” Forbes continued, noting his income at the time made him  the tenth-best earner on Forbes Celebrity 100 list for 2002. His net worth today is reported to be around $300 million.

Clancy has been a lifetime supporter of conservative and Republican causes in America,  a member of the  National Rifle Association  since 1978, and was  part-owner of the  Baltimore Orioles.

His next book, “Command Authority,” is planned for publication on December 3.

Mr Clancy apparently had heart problems in 2006 and had, in general, very poor eyesight which kept him from military service.

WWII Vets Knock Over Shutdown Barrier to Visit Memorial

They didn’t become the Greatest Generation by being shrinking violets.

A group of World War II veterans in an Honor Flight group Tuesday knocked over barriers imposed during the government shutdown at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., to get inside.

And shutting down a memorial like this — open as it is on the mall — required not just somebody at a gate or single barricade.  Oh no; it required purposeful barriers physically lugged into position.  See the photos.

A group that included elderly veterans forced their way into the World War II Memorial on Tuesday in defiance of a federal government shutdown that had closed the monument.

The memorial on the national Mall was closed along with most of the city’s memorials and museums after Congress failed to reach a federal spending deal by midnight Monday.

Allow me to interject the obvious now, at this point: these memorials were closed not because they were the most costly items to run in the government, but because Mr Obama purposely wants to hurt and negatively impact as many American citizens as he possible can, for the temerity of the GOP in not bowing to Mr Obama’s every whim.

Federal park rangers and federal police, perplexed, don’t know what to do about all those damned pushy WWII veterans.  Arresting men in their 80s and 90s, in wheelchairs, might be bad for Mr Obama.

The Demorats and Mr Obama are in charge in DC.  It was their decision to close the monuments and parks.  Oddly enough, however, you do not see their salaries or perks impacted in any way whatsoever.  That’s because they don’t want to make themselves hurt; they want to make you hurt.  Obama and his sycophants simply utilize sophistry.

Dozens of people, including several in wheelchairs, made their way on to the grounds of the monument just before noon as police officers, National Park Service personnel and tourists watched.

The group, which arrived in four buses, was part of an “honor flight” that brings veterans to the District to see the memorial. They were accompanied by a handful of members of Congress. Among those present were Rep. Steven M. Palazzo, Mississippi Republican; Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican; Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas Republican; and Sen. Roger Wicker, Mississippi Republican.

But here’s the best part:

Mr. King’s spokeswoman confirmed to The Washington Times that he distracted the guards, giving the veterans the chance to break through.

And in my opinion, that’s simply a wonderful thing for those courageous Americans.

President Obama says in a new interview with NPR that he doesn’t feel the need to compromise on anything when it comes to the budget and debt ceiling debates.

“I shouldn’t have to offer anything,” he said. “They’re not doing me a favor by paying for things that they have already approved for the government to do. That’s part of their basic function of government; that’s not doing me a favor. That’s doing what the American people sent them here to do – carrying out their responsibilities.”

“I shouldn’t have to offer anything.

Because we need to recognize that Mr Obama is basically Imperial.  His word simply becomes The Word.

And yet, when I check the phrase on YouTube, I get this video:

I slap my forehead in shock.  No air conditioning?

I can’t write this stuff.  Reality always trumps fiction.  Obama is a buffoon at the most extensive and frakking best.  With bushels of understanding held in reserve.
