House Republicans pass test vote to defund Obamacare; shutdown edges closer

Cruz ObamacareFrom the WashingtonTimes.com:

House Republicans survived a key test vote Thursday on their plan to keep the government running while trying to halt the health care law, defying a veto threat from President Obama and inching closer to a shutdown showdown with Senate Democrats.

Top Republicans say their party’s strategy is unlikely to succeed and not worth shutting down the government, but some rank-and-file lawmakers said they have to draw a line now and use the leverage of the spending bill to end the president’s signature achievement.

Ted Cruz hit the nail on the head during an interview with Hugh Hewitt.  In one reply, Senator Cruz stated:

TC:    .  .  . every day it becomes clearer and clearer that this thing isn’t working, that more and more Americans are losing their jobs, are not getting hired in the first place. More and more Americans are finding themselves forcibly reduced to 29 hours a week. More and more Americans are seeing skyrocketing health insurance premiums. And more and more Americans are losing their health insurance altogether. And as you noted, the fact that the unions are jumping ship, I mean, there is bipartisan agreement that it isn’t working, and President Obama has already lawlessly granted exemptions for big corporations and for members of Congress. And this fight over defunding Obamacare in one sentence is about if President Obama will grant waivers to big corporations and members of Congress, why would President Obama threaten to shut down the federal government in order to deny those same waivers to hard-working American families?

Correct: if Obamacare is so wonderful, why are there any exemptions whatsoever, to either corporations who donated to Mr Obama’s campaign, or any DC politician and their staffs?  If Obamacare is so wonderful, inclusive, less expensive and more efficient, why would there be any exemptions at all?

I think you know that answer.

And finally: a filibuster?

Democratic Official Allan Brauer Wishes Death on Ted Cruz Aide’s Children

BY:

Allan Brauer, the communications chair for the Democratic Party of Sacramento, Calif., told an aide to Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Tex.) on Friday that he hoped her children “die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases.”

He followed up the attack with a series of vicious tweets:

Ah, those loving, understanding, compassionate, sensitive, tender, kind and all-inclusive Demorats and Leftists, embracing and considerate of all persons’ feelings and opinions.

The flying dream:

This video has gone berserkly viral (as opposed to the City of Berserkeley), but because of its absolute and stark beauty, I’ve decided to post it here and now instead of waiting for the weekend.

Someone, somehow, managed to attach a GoPro HD camera to the back of a golden eagle somewhere in Europe.  And what results is an incredible expression of the freedom of predators, the freedom of flight, and the freedom of our dreams.

I’ll submit that no person has ever not had “the flying dream.”

It is the greatest liberator of our brains, of our consciousness, of our very and literal souls.

I quite cannot get enough of this video.  I’ve played it at least twenty times in the past two days, due to its simple majesty.  Please click on the video and expand to its complete breadth and depth, then enhance with sound.  Listen to the wind.  Watch the eagle pump its wings.

Can you imagine?  To have the capability to fly with the muscles in your body as does this raptor?  Can you imagine?

This is one case in which technology melds with beauty and environment.

And that’s just two minutes of an eagle’s life.

Obama: ‘Raising the Debt Ceiling…Does Not Increase Our Debt,’ Though It Has ‘Over 100 Times’

Obama on Debt CeilingThe Emperor is naked.

Again.

Revealed by himself.

Again.

Correct; take a look at that headline above once more.

By Craig Bannister

Raising the debt ceiling doesn’t increase the nation’s debt, Pres. Obama declared in a speech today.

In a speech at the Business Roundtable headquarters in Washington, D.C., Obama dismissed concerns about raising the debt ceiling by noting that it’d been done so many times in the past:

“Now, this debt ceiling — I just want to remind people in case you haven’t been keeping up — raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy.  All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress.  It’s a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved.”

Obama went on to suggest that “the average person” mistakenly thinks that raising the debt ceiling means the U.S. is racking up more debt.

Discounting the sheer insanity of that statement, it’s odd, isn’t it, that the only media outlets reporting this little gem are those leaning to the right.  The rest of the American Media Maggots are reporting that Mr Obama “refuses to let the debt limit be a bargaining chip.”

This is the same man who, as a senator, ranted about having to vote for an increase in the national debt to roughly $8 trillion dollars — a drop in the bucket today.

The Emperor is not only naked, but chancred, addled and drooling.

Washington Navy yard: the AR-15 that wasn’t

Navy Yard KillingPrompting the illustrious Diane Feinstein to gleep this load of verbal poop directly following:

“This is one more event to add to the litany of massacres that occur when a deranged person or grievance killer is able to obtain multiple weapons — including a military-style assault rifle — and kill many people in a short amount of time. When will enough be enough?” asked Feinstein. “Congress must stop shirking its responsibility and resume a thoughtful debate on gun violence in this country. We must do more to stop this endless loss of life.”

Except: there was NO “assault rifle” used by the shooter, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis, a black civilian private I.T. contractor who was honorably discharged from the US Navy, at the Washington Navy Yard.

Washington_Navy_Yard_aerial_view_1985Repeat: NO “assault rifle” was utilized by the shooter.  Instead, it was a shotgun and two handguns.

The heinous AR-15 was demagogued once again.  The AMM (American Media Maggots) fixated on the so-called “assault rifle.”  This is nothing more than what I would term “Outcome Based Journalism,” or OBJ.

Piers Morgan blames all on the AR-15 or “assault rifle.”

Despite that, it was Open Season again on firearms and assault rifles in particular.  Fornicalia is reacting with nothing but restrictions, to include the definition of an “assault rifle” being any long gun with a detachable magazine.

One of the most restrictive states is soon to become infinitely more restrictive.  I’m lucky because I’m a cop.  But those who may actually wish to protect themselves via a firearm in Fornicalia?  Good damned luck.

But the DC mayor weighing in on the real reason for the yard shooting?  Leftists opine on their purple skies, because they are blithering idiots:

It’s the Republicans’ fault because of the sequester.  Despite the fact that Alexis was a liberal and voted for Obama and that his job status had changed.  Middle class families today make less than middle class families in 1989.  In adjusted dollars, families make less.  Thank you kindly, Mr Barack Hussein Obama, the Solver of All, the Stagnator of All, the Racist of All.  For blacks, their earnings have decreased by 18%.  Under Obama.

Let’s step back for a moment, shall we, and attempt to insert some logic here — logic that Leftists simply don’t want to address or face.  What or who was Aaron Alexis?

Aaron AlexisBecause this event could be placed into the category of “mass killing.”

Even USA Today thinks mass killings are overblown.

In the past 30 years, there have been roughly 500+ persons attributed to so-called “mass killings,” defined as events resulting in a minimum of four persons killed.

In that same amount of time, 30 years, there have been roughly 590,000 persons murdered in the United States of America.

And but upon that fact the current administration would wish to strike out the entire Second Amendment, via a statistic that is miniscule upon miniscule.

That’s like having a $590,000 budget, but predicating all of your decisions based upon a $500 variable.

The issue at hand, truly, is the mental state of Aaron Alexis.

People have indicated that Alexis exhibited mental issues since the age of 20.

As a distraction, Obama is proffering “squirrel.”

In the meantime, this is the issue:

Distraction upon distraction upon distraction.

P.S.
This was a black shooter.  Did anyone consider the application of a so-called “hate crime” to this person?

Right.  Didn’t think so.
