The Clinton & DC Elite: “What difference does it make?”

Secretary of State — soon to be former — Hillary Clinton “testified” at a hearing on Wednesday, providing essentially no further insight into the attack on the Benghazi consulate in Libya back on September 11th of 2012.

Because, after all, “what difference does it make?”

You arrogant Leftist Elitist Hack, it makes all the difference in the world.

And you just contravened yourself.  Your deflection of the key issue bespeaks volumes about you, ma’am.  YOU are responsible — as you already admitted.  It occurred on your watch.  And, so, why weren’t the embassies and consulates and, in particular, the Benghazi Consulate on the highest of alert on that very important date and — further — why were additional security updates and the adding of security personnel for Benghazi refused for that station?  No, not ignored; actually refused.  It was not an issue of budget; that response is specious and incorrect.  Did you not read the cables?  Did you not read the requests for help?  Why was there no Marine presence?  Where in the hell were the Marines?  There was a 16-personnel security system turned down.  This was, literally, a War Zone.  It is inexcusable.  We had the resources.  And we didn’t deploy them.  I submit: PURPOSELY.

And you take the easy “broken female” way out: the Waterworks.  Shameful.

Clinton did nothing but pontificate and insult not only her position but the entire political system in DC as well as all of the citizens of the United States — who deserve clear and truthful answers.  She attempted jousting; she attempted witty reparte; she attempted, for five-and-a-half hours, to deflect as much as possible to some GOP questioners who couldn’t conduct a half-witted interview or interrogation for Lagos PD in Nigeria, much less sit in an open Congressional session and pose cogently crafted, logical questions in succession.  The GOP had, quite literally, FOUR MONTHS to prepare for this session.

There is nobody in custody.  There is no apparent investigation continuing.  We have a right to know the answers to all our questions.  Are we adequately protecting our embassies?  Our consulates?  In war zones?

From Rand Paul:

“Ultimately, I think with your leaving, you accept culpability for the greatest tragedy since 9/11,” he said. “Had I been President at the time and I found out you had not read the cables… I would have relieved you of your post.”

“I think it’s inexcusable,” he added.

And then Rand Paul NAILS IT:

Finally: why is there no clear timeline of this event proffered and immured and provided in a transparent fashion by anyone on either side of the aisle?

No.  There is no such thing — for an assault on sovereign American territory taking only second place to the 9/11 attack itself, since that date.

Which makes me ask: does anyone actually want to get to the bottom of the four deaths in Benghazi?

Because this — this farce, this Kabuki Theater — is eliciting nothing valuable for the nation, its citizens, its taxpayers.  Which tells me: we’ll learn nothing from this.  So the bottom line becomes: four American citizens died for no reason whatsoever.

All DC did was cover their shit like any average cat in a sandbox.

Bibi stands in Israel: Netanyahu, allies narrowly cling to victory in Israeli election

JERUSALEM –  In a stunning setback, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-line bloc fared worse than expected in a parliamentary election Tuesday, exit polls showed, possibly forcing the incumbent Israeli leader to invite surprisingly strong moderate rivals into his government and soften his line toward the Palestinians.

Netanyahu has won praise at home for drawing the world’s attention to Iran’s suspect nuclear program and for keeping the economy on solid ground at a time of global turmoil.

But internationally, he has repeatedly clashed with allies over his handling of the peace process. Peace talks with the Palestinians have remained stalled throughout his term, in large part because of his continued construction of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

Netanyahu himself has only grudgingly voiced conditional support for a Palestinian state, and his own party is now dominated by hard-liners who oppose even this. A likely coalition partner, Naftali Bennett of the Jewish Home Party, which won 12 seats, has called for annexing large parts of the West Bank, the core of any future Palestinian state.

Major press agencies are making this seem as though it is a defeat.  It is not.  It is a win for Bibi Netanyahu.  He still stands.  And he stands — apparently — for a reason according to Israeli voters.

One thing few realize about the background of Benjamin Netanyahu: his brother was the only Israeli killed during Operation Entebbe on July 4th of 1976 — Lt Col Yonatan Netanyahu.

Collin County (TX) Sheriff Won’t Enforce Gun Laws That He Says Violate Constitution

Collin County Sheriff Terry Box says he, nor his deputies, will enforce unconstitutional gun laws put in place by whom he calls misguided politicians.

In the statement, Box said the following:SheriffTerryBox

In light of recent events I feel I need to make a public statement of my views on this subject. As the Sheriff of Collin County, Texas, I have for the past 28 years served to protect and keep safe all citizens of our county, recognizing the trust placed in me with this profoundly important responsibility.

Unfortunately, the recent surge in the numbers of innocent victims who have died at the hands of unstable criminals has prompted politicians in Washington to seek to pass laws that would seriously erode the constitutional rights of innocent and law abiding citizens.

Neither I, nor any of my deputies, will participate in the enforcement of laws that violate our precious constitutional rights, including our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

As long as I remain Sheriff of Collin County, I will not participate in the actions of misguided politicians who seek to impede our citizen’s right to all of the privileges afforded by our Constitution.

Shark attack!

Being a blogger, I receive many e-mails from friends and acquaintances all over the globe.  I consider it, frankly, a large plus.

Some of this traffic results in any number of posts I may make.

This is one of those posts, suggested from an e-mail.  From Hugh:

Yesterday there was a shark attack on a surfer at Kiholo Bay which is on the Kohala Coast of the island of Hawaii. The shark was estimated to be a 15’-16’ tiger shark and the attack occurred in about 8’ of water. The pictures provided are taken from a shark tagging several years ago by the Univ. of Hawaii and the tagging was done at THE EXACT SPOT of the attack. Please note that the half tiger was cut in half in just one bite. The victim was air lifted to Oahu where he is expected to recover.

On a personal note, some of you know that I used to participate in the kayak (surfski) races here and that I trained only about 12 miles down the coast from this spot. I almost always went out alone and I had several encounters with big tigers, one of which was at least 15’ long. I stopped going out because shortly after my last encounter a one man canoe was attacked at the mouth of the harbor at which I launched and returned.
