Seriously? THIS is why the public can hate cops:

In Fort Lee, New Jersey, officers have been told by their Chief of Police to hand out “summonses” for pedestrians who “Walk and Text” or “Walk and Talk.”

Seriously?

Let’s just issue a police officer or government worker to each citizen, so that more babysitting and hand-holding can occur.

People: there’s an actual penalty to pay for being stupid: it’s called injury or death.

So pedestrians walked into the street and were hit by cars?

Sounds like “culling the herd” to me.

P.S.
This apparently isn’t the first time the department has been less-than-brilliant. And I have a sufficiently-difficult time on the street already, FLPD, without hearing about your new silly move all day long from the public I encounter.

Texas warehouse: another TSA abortion on toast

The TSA continues to be the proverbial FEDERAL “abortion on toast.”

If you like the convenience and responsiveness of, say, Social Security or TriCare or MediCare or Medicaid you’ll absolutely love and enjoy the efficiency of our TSA.

Or not.

Underline the NOT portion of the above line.

From USNews&WorldReport.com:

TSA Puts Millions of Dollars of Equipment in Storage

House Oversight Committee says TSA wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on unproven equipment

May 9, 2012 RSS Feed Print

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform says the Transportation Security Administration is wasting taxpayers’ money again, this time by holding more than 5,000 pieces of security equipment, valued at upwards of $180 million in a Texas warehouse.

And then, when having been “found out,” were discovered to be “mid-mission” of moving said equipment OUT of said warehouse?

Continuing the truth:

“Little has changed in the past three years and the systemic flaws continue to plague the TSA,” committee chairman California Republican Darrell Issa said in a statement. “These flaws are exacerbated by a management structure that seems content to throw millions of dollars at untested solutions that are bought in excess and poorly deployed and managed. That is not a security operation, but rather a recipe for disaster.”

The TSA argues that it isn’t wasting resources, but is merely adapting to security threats.

“We continue to evolve our security approach, by examining our procedures the technologies we use and how screening is conducted,” says David R. Nicholson, the Chief Financial Officer for the TSA.

The committee’s report shows that 85 percent of the equipment in the TSA warehouse as of February had been stored for more than six months and 35 percent of it had been there longer than a year. The same report shows TSA has nearly 1,500 Explosive Track Detectors, bag screening devices, in its storage facility in Texas. In order to get a discount on the machines, TSA admits they bought more machines then they needed with the expectation that eventually its supply would meet demand.

But storing the equipment in the warehouse isn’t cheap.

The Transportation Logistics Center where the equipment is held costs $3.5 million a year to maintain.

Imagine that.

Literally MILLIONS of your FEDERAL TAXPAYER DOLLARS were squandered and then shuttled aside into a warehouse and NOT applied to fighting the “war on terrorism.”

  • The TSA needs to be ELIMINATED!
  • Homeland Security needs to be ELIMINATED!

Some COMMON SENSE needs to be injected into the federal security paradigm!

In final response:

Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz offered a simpler solution to the TSA’s seeming obsession with unproven technology: bomb-sniffing dogs. [See a slide show of 6 vulnerable terrorist targets.]

“It’s what the Israelis do, it’s what the Pentagon does, it’s what the White House does, it’s what we do in the United States Congress,” Chaffetz says. “Only the TSA decides that whole body imaging machines are better, and then we stick hundreds of millions of dollars in the warehouse. People are going to die if we continue to make these asinine decisions.”

“Asinine” is being kind.

I haven’t flown since 2006, when I had to attend SLI in San Diego. In that year, I flew roughly twice a month for nine months.

Since then: NO. The airlines and the federal agencies regulating them can go straight to hell. I’ll simply DRIVE where I need to go. I couldn’t care LESS what this does to local or other economies.

I won’t have my nuts, such as they are, squeezed. I won’t be ranged-up like a cattle car. I won’t take off my shoes or my socks or spit into a cup or cough whilst some federal probe literally and physically investigates my asshole.

Because THAT, as you should well know, is COMING.

Obama, the public “flip-flopper”

Because Mr Obama was against gay marriage before he was — today — “for” it.

From YahooNews.com:

President Obama today announced that he now supports same-sex marriage, reversing his longstanding opposition amid growing pressure from the Democratic base and even his own vice president.

In an interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts, the president described his thought process as an “evolution” that led him to this place, based on conversations with his own staff members, openly gay and lesbian service members, and conversations with his wife and own daughters.

Right. Mr Obama can have an “evolution,” but everyone else — Romney in particular — is a flip-flopper.

Of course. Why couldn’t I see the logic in that? You know this will be supported by the Obama Media Complex: the DEM/MSM.

With two niggling little exceptions:

  • “Gay rights” don’t play real well in the so-called black community.
  • And “gay rights” don’t play real well in the so-called Hispanic community either.

I think I see something of a problem looming.

Because now, my dearest black and Hispanic liberal readers, Mr Obama has officially kicked YOU to the curb, now favoring gays.

Why do you think Mr Obama didn’t come out, front and center, right from the beginning of his presidency, in heavy support of gay rights?

Correct: the black and Hispanic vote.

My. This is going to get interesting.

P.S.
Everyone knows Mr Obama never flip-flops:

Elimination of Black Studies?

[Whilst the MSM/DEM gushes and eroticizes over Hillary Clinton allegedly au naturale, there are actually important issues occurring and demanding attention in the world (It should be no surprise that Bill and Hillary haven’t been in the same hemisphere much less the same bedroom in, literally, years. But to mention that truth would be, after all, judgmental and excoriative and unfair. Yeah. Right. My guess is that Bill relies upon locals, and Hillary relies upon electronics.).]

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Greece is officially insane.

And yet, despite this all, America seems to be realizing that “black studies” may, themselves, be racist.

From The Chronicle.com:

The Most Persuasive Case for Eliminating Black Studies? Just Read the Dissertations.

April 30, 2012, 10:24 pm

By Naomi Schaefer Riley

NB: To see Chronicle editors’ final response to the below post, please read “A Note to Readers.”

You’ll have to forgive the lateness but I just got around to reading The Chronicle’s recent piece on the young guns of black studies. If ever there were a case for eliminating the discipline, the sidebar explaining some of the dissertations being offered by the best and the brightest of black-studies graduate students has made it. What a collection of left-wing victimization claptrap. The best that can be said of these topics is that they’re so irrelevant no one will ever look at them.

That’s what I would say about Ruth Hayes’ dissertation, “‘So I Could Be Easeful’: Black Women’s Authoritative Knowledge on Childbirth.” It began because she “noticed that nonwhite women’s experiences were largely absent from natural-birth literature, which led me to look into historical black midwifery.” How could we overlook the nonwhite experience in “natural birth literature,” whatever the heck that is? It’s scandalous and clearly a sign that racism is alive and well in America, not to mention academia.

Then there is Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, author of “Race for Profit: Black Housing and the Urban Crisis of the 1970s.” Ms. Taylor believes there was apparently some kind of conspiracy in the federal government’s promotion of single family homes in black neighborhoods after the unrest of the 1960s. Single family homes! The audacity! But Ms. Taylor sees that her issue is still relevant today. (Not much of a surprise since the entirety of black studies today seems to rest on the premise that nothing much has changed in this country in the past half century when it comes to race. Shhhh. Don’t tell them about the black president!) She explains that “The subprime lending crisis, if it did nothing else, highlighted the profitability of racism in the housing market.” The subprime lending crisis was about the profitability of racism? Those millions of white people who went into foreclosure were just collateral damage, I guess.

I’m tired. I admit it. I am SO tired.

Of having to forcefully acknowledge that many striations of blacks are VICTIMS rather than lazy asses cultivated and mandated by local and federal governments, for — literally — generations.

And their progenitors in SlaveManShip?

Demorats.

Breaking down the nuclear black family. Replacing fathers with cash. Favoring cash over fathers.

And you wonder why blacks portray themselves as NIGGERS and BITCHES — personally and societally — and demean themselves?

Look no farther than purposeful government intervention.

THEY are your Slavedrivers.
