That is a Tweet this person thinks is rooted in some kind of factual basis when, in truth, it is supported by nothing by hot air, false memes and lies. Outright, bald lies.
UC Irvine Student: US Flag Banned to Avoid ‘Triggering’ Hurt Feelings Among Illegals
by Adelle Nazarian
UCI student Matthew Guevara, who sits on the Student Association board, authored the resolution (R50-70) to ban the U.S. flag from the association’s lobby wall. The resolution passed narrowly on Thursday in a 6-4 vote in favor, with two abstentions, but was overturned and vetoed on Saturday during a private meeting held by the Associated Student’s Executive Cabinet by a 4-1 vote.
Imagine that. The American flag voted as offensive by some ignorant puerile male with a Mexican name.
Penned by Matthew Guevara, a student in the school of social ecology, the resolution stated: “Designing a culturally inclusive space aims to remove barriers that create undue effort and separation by planning and designing spaces that enable everyone to participate equally and confidentially.”
“The American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism,” the resolution continued. “Flags not only serve as symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism, but also construct cultural mythologies and narratives that in turn charge nationalistic sentiments.”
The resolution noted that in certain spaces “freedom of speech” can be interpreted as “hate speech.”
The American flag is, therefore, colonialistic, imperialistic, nationalistic.
And finally, there it is, admitted by Leftists:
“Freedom of speech” can be interpreted as “hate speech.”
Leftsts admit that is where they want to go. They are the final arbiters of what can be considered “hate speech” and what cannot. They are the “deciders-in-chief” of who can say what, and the concomitant penalties for straying.
The “ban,” however, didn’t remain in place for terribly long.
Four days after its birth, the radical push to remove national symbols from student government facilities was dead. On Saturday, student leaders vetoed the resolution, according to the Times.
Because of this incident, Fornicalia may decide to address the issue legislatively — and how said is that?
On Friday, state Sen. Janet Nguyen (R-Santa Ana) told the AP that legislators may introduce a state constitutional amendment prohibiting “state-funded universities and college campuses from banning the United States flag.”
A student who spoke with Breitbart News on condition of anonymity that she heard a member of the ASUCI discussing “the [American] flag and how it triggered people.” She then said she believed a major line of reasoning behind the legislation to remove the flag could have been a “precautionary step” to prevent a trigger situation where if someone is an “illegal citizen or [they] have citizenship issues, it makes them feel bad.
“But me and my friends were like, ‘Dude, you’re in America. It’s the American flag,’” she added.
The issue, according to her, was that the flag was placed in a common space, and she felt that if it were placed in a private area like a personal office, it would not have been a big deal. “And then there were people who were like ‘the flag triggers me’ — that was their exact wording, too.”
She added: “Everything can be a trigger. How far is it going to go? If everyone says something bothers them about a shared space then that could be a problem because then there will be nothing on any walls.”
How far will it go?
It will go as far as allowed, until there is pushback and common sense injected. In this case, common sense and pushback have won the day.
Okay, now forget all that. Because as it turns out, the concept of three square meals a day has practically zero to do with your actual metabolic needs. And our dogmatic adherence to breakfast, lunch, and dinner might actually be making us sick.
They observed that the eating schedule of the native tribes was less rigid—the volume and timing of their eating varied with the seasons. Sometimes, when food was scarce, they fasted. The Europeans took this as “evidence that natives were uncivilized,” Carroll explained to me in an email. “Civilized people ate properly and boundaried their eating, thus differentiating themselves from the animal kingdom, where grazing is the norm.”
So there is the so-called “racial component.” Butler says:
Dogmatic adherence to mealtimes is anti-science, racist, and might actually be making you sick.
Leftists just can’t refrain from turning every aspect of life into some kind of racist/sexist/-ist issue — even meals.
How droll, depressing, tedious and unhappy it must be to be a Leftist.
Thanks, Mayor De Blasio, for creating panic in your city, proclaiming that the sky is literally falling and the city will undergo the worst blizzard in the past thousand years.
Good God, man, it’s only snow.
On the other hand, those of you who insist on squeezing yourselves into Demorat-run Herring Enclaves, good for you. Keep it up. More Lebensraum for me.
Al Gore: Spend $90 Trillion To Ban Cars From Every Major City In The World
by Michael Bastasch
Former Vice President Al Gore and former Mexican President Felipe Calderon are pushing for $90 trillion in spending to ban cars from every major city in the world and make them more dense.
Gore and Calderon presented a report from the Global Commission on the Economy & Climate (GCEC) and argued that fighting global warming will require making cities more compact and wholly reliant on public transit. This is the only way to make sure urban areas don’t contribute to global warming, the two politicians argued.
What did I tell you? Leftists want to shove you all like the good little herring you could be into massive high-rises with more little tin can apartments.
It’s already happening in New York, with the so-called “trendy” apartments of 450 square feet to 200 square feet. You can swim in a public swimming pool, exercise in a public gym, piss in public restrooms, pack like straws into a public elevator, and acquire public diseases in a much lesser time. How au courant! How perfect for the Religious Left, who eschew energy facts in favor of mere belief. I believe, Great Gaia, I believe! Hallelujah, I believe, praise Gore!
GOWPs will go for it in a heartbeat, the guilty Millennials that they are. What’s the downside? Lord knows there’s no more space available in NYC.
Who needs cars when we can mandate that we eliminate cars wholesale and build more micro-apartments?
GCEC’s study says that “more compact, better-connected cities with strong mass transit systems will help policy-makers tackle these pressing challenges. Such cities are more productive, socially inclusive, resilient, cleaner, quieter and safer.”
Really? What happens when your electricity dies in a blackout or runs out? What happens when the water treatment system tanks? What happens when sanitation workers or transit workers or public service workers go on strike? What happens when your internet and satellite systems go down?
“Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage.”
