The Purpose of the Second Amendment

A dated video but worth repeating, particularly if you’re unfamiliar with the story. I’m sure the trolls, to my sheer delight, will be magically and immediately incensed:

Please see associated explanative links here and here.
During this video, note the arrogant, elitist, all-knowing smirk on Chuck Schumer’s face, indicating: the loss of your parents means nothing. Your being here means nothing. You’ve rehearsed this speech, you have an agenda and it’s to be nothing but against me. I’m only paying the slightest bit of attention to you because I know I’m on video.
I would oh-so-love to have slapped the smirk right off Mr Schumer’s imperious face.
And, of course, Penn and Teller: the most heinous of Right Wing idealogues extant, eh?
Ladies and gentlemen, even those of you who don’t care for guns — government lives to do naught but grow itself — and those men and women in power live for the two extensions of growing government: personal power and personal wealth. When the reach of government extends past its grasp there is a terrible problem; when government’s extended reach equals its grasp the problem is even worse.
The true purpose of the Second Amendment is for self defense, yes; precisely as stated by Dr Suzanna Gratia-Hupp at the end of her appearance.
I have but to quote Thomas Jefferson with regard to the build-up of government and the rights of Americans to be free of its oppressive and purposeful reach or, as I phrase it, in mind of the Logical Extension:
“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
This is occurring presently.
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
This wastage is occurring presently.
“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.”
Read that again. Understand its true meaning.
This may occur if the government continues on its current path, unless implosion take place first. I suspect implosion is in fact coming. Sooner rather than later.
And finally, it was Gerald R. Ford who said, to a joint session of Congress on August 12th, 1974: “A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.”
What Leftists fail to realize is that the Second Amendment isn’t about guns, it’s about the ability of sovereign, lawful American citizens to defend themselves individually or collectively against a type of government the Constitutional framers had just experienced. The gun is simply the instrument by which the job then and now can be accomplished. The gun is just a tool to be manipulated. And a tool, dependent upon the hands in which it rests, can be used for good, bad, or indifference.
All things considered, you shouldn’t wonder why there is a movement, by the US government, by Leftists, to eliminate your ability to possess and utilize this tool.
Conversely: look around you, my friends; look around you. There is a reason that the homes of Leftists don’t have large signs in their yards proclaiming: “OUR PHILOSOPHY MANDATES: NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSEHOLD, AND PROUD OF IT.”
There is fear; fear of you. Singly and collectively. The American gun owner.
An unarmed person, quite simply, is called a serf. Look it up.

Mr Obama Announces His Candidacy For A Second Term:

[This video received more YouTube hits than the real Obama announcement. -BZ]

O glorious day, The One deigns to save us all in a second term, continuing the demolition and destruction of the quintessence of American exceptionalism.

America cannot be exceptional; it must be humbled and brought into line with the rest of the globe.

So sayeth The One.

Whilst some Republicans manage to excoriate the TEA Party, it is the TEA Party’s philosophy that can save this nation now, not backslapping by both sides over drinks and larfs at Bullfeathers, Hawk N’ Dove or the Capitol Lounge. Because they know: you are being fleeced.

Luckily, some semblance of sanity is peeping its head over the bedcovers:

Also, the Senate passed the first chink into the ObakaKare bill. I was, quite simply, astounded that it should have any kind of so-called “bipartisan support.”

And about the proposed Paul Ryan budget? Go here for more details.

Think of it this way, I submit:

100 Senators. 435 Representatives. A total of 535 “brilliant minds” consisting of doctors, lawyers, all college-educated, all mostly-monied, all having passed any number of storied and impressive edifices of higher education.

And only one person — onePaul Ryan, could somehow manage to come up with this proposal?

Yeah. Right.

Your tax dollars at work. Paying the bulk of these DC assholes to pad their own personal wallets whilst they offer words and words and words and no actions.

Keep on taking it, America. The parasites need more money. You, the hosts, the taxpayers, need harder work and more of it.

You’re not working sufficient hours. You’re not sacrificing enough. You’re not paying enough for energy, for milk, for food, for gas, for your electricity. You need to be fleeced even further.

You need to be shoved into a compacted Urban Center with a Small Footprint [read: high-rises]. You need to ride mass transit only. Your cars need to be taken from you. You need to be told what to eat and why and when. You need to be told what to say and what to think and when.

Your family needs to be impacted on behalf of those persons who choose not to work and, additionally, decide to work against this country from within and without. After all, that’s fair, isn’t it? It’s all about fairness and equality of outcome.

And boy, will you get it.

Shut down this damned government.

Torches and pitchforks.

An Open Letter To The GOP:

Dear GOP:

You are about to go the way of the Whig Party, and you don’t even realize it.

You were given a so-called “mandate” this past November.

You didn’t understand it then, and I’m convinced you simply don’t understand it now.

It’s a fight, and you said you would fight for Conservatism but, since then, you’ve shown nothing but limp-wristed — at best — compromise and, at worst, agreement with some of the Demorats’ bills and principles.

You are about to create — due to your indifference — a Third Party in this nation which will, in truth, weaken the GOP and Conservative values whilst, at the same time, strengthen Demorats and Leftists.

I used to write general checks to the RNC but, these days, I specifically TARGET my checks to individuals I consider to be more reflective of my thoughts. My most recent checks were to Sharron Angle, Tom McClintock, and Marco Rubio. They received, shall I say, a minimum of $1,000 each. That is money that could have gone to the GOP but, in my opinion, would have been squandered for the pablum that passes as the current GOP “platform.”

You, GOP, are losing your predominant Water Carriers. You are losing Rush Limbaugh. And, in my realm, more importantly, you are losing a much more even-keeled individual — Hugh Hewitt.

You were proffered what most people would consider a true mandate.

And, for the most part, since then, your “stands” have been akin to nailing Jello to a tree.

In the meantime, Mr Barack Hussein Obama has officially announced his candidacy for President in 2012. Earthshaking? Not quite. He is already at a 50/50 chance of election. Considering past and current standings, I find that absolutely amazing and, further, a revealing insight into the ignorance of American voters.

That said, in opposition, what does the GOP offer? Who? What? When?

I learned one thing, just one thing, from my high school “Civics” teacher, Mr Helms — goateed as he was in 1970. He said: “Democrats don’t win elections; Republicans lose them.”

He was absolutely correct then as he is correct now and, particularly, with regard to the 2012 presidential election.

The Demorats shall only submit Mr Obama as their candidate. Who is offered by the GOP? Sarah Palin? Bobby Jindal? Paul Ryan? Tom McClintock? Col Allen West?

No. Oh no.

It’ll be some subsumed Republican pablum-aligned piece of detritus already oriented towards personal wealth and aggrandizement. Let’s name Slick Mitt Romney. And then let’s cast him aside. Other than him, just who-in-the-Hell-has-a-chance?

“Compromise is the soup in which principles are dissolved.”

There has, in my personal opinion, been altogether too much compromise for my taste.

It’s long past time to take a stand. To take an aligned stand. To take a collective stand. To take a majority stand. But I don’t hear this language being spoken. I don’t hear or read these thoughts being disseminated as standard.

You are, GOP, about to lose the rest of your Paying Customers.

And your Paying Customers — duh — fund your excessive budgets.

I once said: GOP, you are on Probation.

That’s So Yesterday.

I say now:

I don’t see any “stands” being made. I don’t see Unity. I don’t see unanimity.

You can proffer all the excuses and reasons you wish.

I don’t care anymore.

You’re “beyond Probation,” GOP.

You’re pushing “indifference” and thence into an actual Third Party.

And guess what?

I would sign up for that. And write a check for that.

– TEA Party? – Conservative Party? – Realist Party?

Consider the consequences.

P.S.
Shut the government down. No one’s going to notice. No one will mostly care. It is the unessential stuff going by the wayside which will reveal how non-essential the “essentials” are.

All We Need To Know About Mr Obama & DC:

Isn’t it odd that, apparently, only Libya is “worth” invading — considering the demonstrations, violence, insurrection and killings in Egypt, Yemen, Syria and, now, the Ivory Coast? Should we bomb there next? Send in “boots on the ground”?

If so, I’m sure there’s some kind of unrest in Ireland. Perchance a few bad thoughts in Scotland? Sarcasm or improper jokes in Canada?

Perhaps, before that, the American military should invade Fornicalia first and take it back.

Creativity & Education

Yes, you can see the video takes 20 minutes. A number of you will be moving on at this point and to that I say: quite too bad. You’ll be missing an agile and open mind who has the temerity to expose the truth about human creativity and about the self-perpetuating roles of universities. And it isn’t to mold so-called “open minds.” Universities exist in order to purposely close them. We stigmatize mistakes. We don’t grow into creativity, we grow out of it.

Please welcome Sir Ken Robinson. Kindly note that, when he speaks of university professors the audience, comprised a good percentile of such, become rather quiet as they know he is pointing his finger at them. His veritas is not quite so amusing, then.
However, as with any good instructor, Sir Ken is salient, self-deprecating, engaging, human and, mostly, truthful:

I have said for some time: power comes with control of two very specific venues in the United States: control of SCOTUS, and control of our education system. Our educational (specifically, university) system is lost. “Suddenly, degrees aren’t worth anything. It’s a process of academic inflation.”
Wars rage on around the globe but the wars in our head are still inflamed and the fight continues for young, impressionable minds. Here and abroad. Think: jihad.
