2011 GOP: You’re On Probation

Conservatives have big questions during this, the first month of the new year and the beginning of the 112th Congress.
Texas Fred has a pointed post about actual Conservatism and the GOP, and Always On Watch writes about the Epic Fail Congress of 2010. Maggie posts about the outright corruption of the Obama Administration — you know, the most “transparent” admin in the nation’s history. Angry American wonders: does anyone in DC “get” the US Constitution? And Tom writes about the unmitigated disaster that was the 2010 Obaka Reign.

Hand-in-hand with my Sunday post, Ted Nugent writes in The Washington Times:

Mom and Pop America are hoping and praying for forward momentum from the GOP. They want their country back from the kamikaze death-grip of the weird Democrats. However, if the GOP fails to take bold, decisive action to dramatically reduce the size and power of Fedzilla, the Democrats will return to power in 2012, and, like the Mao Tse Obama curse, we will once again get exactly what we deserve.

Are there true light rays on the horizon?
I can only hope that is true; perhaps some inklings to help us out:
– House Republicans want to tear down ObakaKare;
– John Boehner plans to do so in a few weeks;
– Rep. Darrell Issa plans to audit Obama’s spending;
– Obama in 2010;
There are some Republican plans on the horizon. Still and all, many people wonder — and rightly so — about the spine of the GOP. Will it be rigid or invertebrate?
Time will tell.

2011 GOP: Get To Work!

So, how many of you think the bulk of the GOP’ers are just gonna wade in with both feet and turn over the New Shiny Nickel for Conservatism in 2011? Eh?
How many GOP’ers are thinking: “I just can’t wait for this 2011 thing; it’s like starting with a fresh and clean slate.”
-We’re going to really limit spending this time!
-We’re really going to fight for our values!
– We’re going to put our votes where our mouths are!
– We’re going to listen to our constituents!
– We’re going to clean the welfare rolls of the able-bodied young!
– We’re going to incentivize business creation!
– This, in turn, will incentivize job creation!
– We’re going to push for minimized taxes and regulations!
– We will insist on more energy independence from foreign oil reserves!
– We will spend our money on incentives for:
*New electrical generation stations;
*New refineries;
*New desalinization plants;
*Local drilling and tapping of oil/shale fields, natural gas and coal deposits;
– Truth in bills: no riders; one topic per bill!
– No exceptions: every law past and present shall apply equally to all members of Congress!
– Audit the Federal Reserve!
– Vet every bill against Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution!
How many GOP’ers are thinking this?
How many — ?
— yeah, me too. . .

2011: It Can’t Happen Here

A comment I encountered at random on the ForeignPolicy.com site, addressing world areas of potential civil unrest for 2011:

I’m amazed we (the US) made it though this year. If Greece, Britain, hell most of Europe aren’t good examples of what “austerity measures” can do for the morality of a country, wait till they stop the welfare checks in the USA. Forget the owners and supporter of the 2nd Amendment, heck most people in the projects either have a gun or know where to get one; and I aint talkin bout a three day waiting period either.

But, of course, just because it can happen in France, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal and the UK, it certainly cannot happen here.

NYC Stuck In Snow? That Was A Union Protest

From the NYPost:

Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts — a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

Right or wrong, I believe you’re going to see a lot more of this in the future.

TSA = Joseph McCarthy

Communists were banned by Joseph McCarthy.

Dissenters are banned by the TSA.

So because some chick has the temerity to point out the obvious, that the Emperor actually has no clothes, she is banned by TSA from flying?

Just how does that happen?

OKLAHOMA CITY — The woman who made national headlines for her near-naked protest at the airport in Oklahoma City is back and once again banned from flying.

A YouTube video put Tammy Banovac in the national spotlight. Banovac says she went through security wearing next-to-nothing, to protest new security rules at airports nationwide.

Is anyone besides me thinking that most of this crap has long-ago exceeded the boundaries of logic and common sense?

Banovac was back at the Will Rogers Airport Tuesday (12-28-10) and once again, security says she can’t board her flight back home to Phoenix.

Last month security denied her access because they said they found traces of nitrate somewhere on her body.

Now, it’s something near her bottom that is raising a red flag.

“The stated reason was there was… They were unable to clear an unusual contour of my buttocks area,” said Banovac.

Tammy wouldn’t say what the unusual contour was, but says she’s sleeping at the airport. She was told she would be allowed to board her flight home Wednesday morning.

And the absurdities just keep on coming.

Isn’t this just kind of bordering on some iteration of byzantine Kabuki Theatre?

P.S.
The major difference between Joseph McCarthy and the TSA?

Russian records, opened following the fall of the Berlin Wall, indicate that McCarthy was correct.

The TSA is clearly not.

Mostly they don’t display the common sense that God gave the average houseplant.
