Whilst listening to the Tom Sullivan radio show on Wednesday, one caller named Craig from Yuba City made a salient observation. He owns a mechanical shop which works on engine blocks; he builds guns on the side. He noted that, at gun shows he attends, fully two-thirds of gun sales are now from women.
He stated his experience is such that the women making purchases are typically professionals such as teachers or nurses, who are fearing for their personal safety — and only very recently began to fear for themselves in terms of economic and societal conditions.
While Treasuries backed by the full faith and credit of the government typically yield less than corporate debt, the relationship has flipped as Moody’s Investors Service predicts the U.S. will spend more on debt service as a percentage of revenue this year than any other top-rated country except the U.K. America will use about 7 percent of taxes for debt payments in 2010 and almost 11 percent in 2013, moving “substantially” closer to losing its AAA rating, Moody’s said last week.
The United States cannot afford ObakaKare. It cannot afford to provide services to illegal invaders granted amnesty. Businesses cannot afford CapNTax. The US cannot afford any more bailouts or stimulus packages or takeovers of student loans or any other segment or strata takeover by the federal government. States are already prepared to crash, hence their suits. States cannot print their own cash as can the fed.
The rating was lowered one step to AA- with a “negative” outlook, Fitch said in a statement today, adding that further economic or fiscal underperformance this year or in 2011 may lead to another downgrade. The euro extended its decline, dropping against all but one of the 16 most-traded currencies. Portuguese stocks and bonds fell.
I think it’s in an impossible situation,” said Donovan, who is based in London, in an interview with Bloomberg Radio today. “Europe has failed to clear its first serious hurdle. If Europe can’t solve a small problem like this (Greece), how on earth is it going to solve the larger problem, which is the euro doesn’t work. It’s a bad idea.”
79% of those polled recently by FoxNews believe the US economy can collapse. Respondents believing this included Democrats (72 percent), Republicans (84 percent) and independents (80 percent).
Half the country pays 97% of the taxes, and the other half pays 3%. So 50% of our entire country believes that something “free” is actually free because, after all, they see no consequence to that thought.
Thanks to Bushwack for my theft of the Sharpton video. And thanks to Joe Biden for continuing to be a remarkably excellent source of ignorance.
Sharpton in a rare revelation of the truth.
And Biden as his usual self.
Five days to review any bill online before Mr Obaka signs something crossing his desk?
The Demorats still have no true idea of what they’ve done. Nor does the rest of the country save a few persons with actual insight as to the realities involved.
19 million students will shortly be overcharged for their tuitions — their loans now controlled by the federal government — in order to fund healthcare. Way to go, kids, voting for Mr Obaka!
Seniors in Medicare Advantage are going to find their benefits slashed.
What did Bart Stupak get for his placing a national shiv up the sphincter of taxpayers and subverting this nation? Oh yes, of course; three airports in his district are to receive roughly $700,000 in grants. Mr Stupak sold his vote — on the promise of an “Executive Order” — for pennies compared to Mary Landrieu’s $300 million “Louisiana Purchase.” Stupak became the pivotal vote.
States faced with unprecedented declines in tax collections are cutting benefits and payments to hospitals and doctors in Medicaid, the health program for the poor paid jointly by state and U.S. governments. The costs to hire staff and plan for the average 25 percent increase in Medicaid rolls may swamp budgets, said Toby Douglas, who manages the Medicaid program for California, which hasn’t joined the lawsuits.
For California, with a $20 billion budget deficit, the extra load will cost at least an additional $2 billion to $3 billion annually, said Douglas, chief deputy director for California’s health care programs. He said the overhaul is currently projected to add 1.6 million people to the 7 million enrolled in his state’s program.
“We face enormous challenges just sustaining our existing program,” said Douglas in a March 18 telephone interview. “I just don’t see states having the capacity to move forward on these changes in this environment.”
But hey, no problem. We can just cut more cops and more firefighters and release some oppressed inmates in state prisons and revamp our penal codes so that county prisoners only have to do a quarter of their actual sentences. Right? Because, after all, we can’t cut welfare or in home care or SEIU employees. Zounds!
Oh Amerika. I shake my head. You have no idea what you’ve elected and what you’ve allowed your so-called “representatives” to do. You know: the people who really do not represent you and couldn’t care less about what you want.
The next big push will be amnesty for all illegals invaders in this country.
Mr Obaka has to shore up his vote base because he knows he’d come way too close to losing ObakaKare. He wants to buttress all his future bills and acts. With votes. Acquired any way possible.
He will frame this push in terms of race, in terms of Amerika as a repressor, in terms of Amerika as not a liberator for good but solely a suppressor of dark people. It will be all about the division of this great nation.
How can I tell?
On the very same day that the US Congress decided to burn the Constitution, this occurred:
WASHINGTON — Frustrated with the lack of action to overhaul the country’s immigration system, thousands of demonstrators rallied on the National Mall and marched through the streets of the capital Sunday, waving American flags and holding homemade signs in English and Spanish.
Supporters traveled from around the country in hopes the rally would re-energize Congress to take up the volatile issue. Some lawmakers oppose any attempt to help an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants become U.S. citizens while others insist on stronger border controls first.
President Barack Obama, who promised to make overhauling the immigration system a top priority in his first year, sought to reassure those at the rally with a video message presented on giant screens at the National Mall. The president said he was committed to working with Congress this year on a comprehensive bill to fix a “broken immigration system.”
First of all, then we have to say the American public overwhelmingly voted for Socialism when they elected President Obama,” Sharpton said.
“Let’s not act as though the president didn’t tell the American people – the president offered the American people health reform when he ran. He was overwhelmingly elected running on that and he has delivered what he promised.”
