12 dead in Colorado midnight movie shooting: here come the shouts for GUN CONTROL

Whilst the rest of the nation slept, a 24-year-old male entered a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” at the Century 16 theatres in Aurora, Colorado, and opened fire with a rifle, shotgun and handgun — killing 12 and wounding 36 at last update.

Any mass killing like this is a tragedy.  And a perfect, again, political opportunity for the Left to decry the possession of firearms by the electorate.

As Paul Joseph Watson writes:

“Within hours of the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado at a screening of the new Batman movie, the political machine is already gearing up to exploit the incident as a tool to demonize the second amendment and characterize Americans who are against big government as extremists.”

Piers Morgan from CNN has already written:

Horrendous details from this Colorado cinema shooting. America has got to do something about its gun laws. Now is the time.

ABC News, you’ll be pleased to read, is already indicating the shooter has TEA Party links.  How novel!

ABC’s Brian Ross reported this morning that there is “a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site… talking about him joining the Tea Party last year.”

Breitbart is indicating the shooter may be a registered Democrat.

Again — wouldn’t that be novel indeed?

Time will tell.

I can only conclude:

It’s clearly time to gather all your firearms and place them at the end of your driveway, with all your ammunition, like the good prole the current American Government wishes you to be.

Illegals training illegals to fly: okay by TSA!

THIS is how irreparably-broken your government is:

The TSA let twenty-five ILLEGAL ALIENS attend a flight school RUN by an illegal alien!

From CNSNews.com:

“Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approved flight training for 25 illegal aliens at a Boston-area flight school that was owned by yet another illegal alien, according to the Government Accountability Office.

The illegal-alien flight-school attendees including eight who had entered the country illegally and 17 who had overstayed their allowed period of admission into the United States, according to an audit by the GAO.

Six of the illegal aliens were actually able to get pilot’s licenses.”

But that’s not the best part.  This is:

“Stephen Lord, who is the GAO’s director of Homeland Security and Justice Issues, testified about the matter Wednesday in Rogers’ subcommittee. Rogers asked him: “Isn’t it true that, based on your report, the Transportation Security Administration cannot assure the American people that foreign terrorists are not in this country learning how to fly airplanes, yes or no?”

Lord responded: “At this time, no.”

Let there be no mistake: we’re no safer now — with our diminished freedoms, government-paid crotch-grabbers, aerial drones over our own cities and the massive “Homeland Security” apparatus — than we were on September 10th of 2001.  The GAO report just said so.

Let me remind you all: just who has stopped devices from going off in US civilian aircraft recently?  That’s right: regular American citizens like you and me.  NOT the TSA Grope Squads in our airports.

This is an abortion on toast, ladies and gentlemen.  We lose our freedoms, and acquire our repressive TSA colonoscopies if we wish to fly and, better yet (o joyous day), TSA wants to add these physical intrusions to trains, buses and local transit.  Next up to bid?  You guessed it: checkpoints on our national highways.  Where you’ll have to show your ID, but illegals won’t.

This, however, should make you feel ever-so-much better:

“A GAO official told CNSNews.com that, based on their names, none of the 25 illegal aliens who attended the flight school appeared to be from Muslim countries. Instead, they had Latin American names.”

Just because many Middle Eastern men are readily confused with Mexicans and other “swarthy” individuals completely precludes terrorists from daring — the temerity of them! — to actually utilize a false name.

I’m certainly assuaged.

Schumer to Bernanke: MORE PORKULUS before November! And? What about Obama and Bain Capital?

[This probably should have been two separate posts.  But frankly, I couldn’t hold back the information and felt compelled to simply “get it out there” as soon as possible.  My apologies if this makes for a confusing post. –BZ]

There is an exhortation from Demorats this week — mostly Chuckie Schumer — to “stimulate” the economy BEFORE November.  Translated: Obama needs help.  Time to cheat and stack the deck.  As Schumer said to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke: “get to work” and instigate more “quantitative easing.”  This is ObakaSpeak for more Porkulus, meaning: get those presses printing even more cash per day.

Let’s see: hitting ourselves with a ball-peen hammer on a head-wound site makes the wound heal quicker.  Right?  I.E., spending another massive clot of hundreds of billions of dollars will take us right out of the economic doldrums just like it did last time.  Right?

It didn’t work then and it won’t work now.  Where did the cash go?  NO ONE KNOWS.  And no one was made to ACCOUNT for all the TARP and “stimulus” funds.  Hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars VANISHED — and the economy’s transmission is still stuck in REVERSE.

This is naked cheating and election stacking, not to mention the incredible, the staggeringly-profligate and pointless waste of OUR taxpayer dollars.  Mine.  Yours.

And no one much cares.  Another day.  Another story.  Ho-hum.  We, ladies and gentlemen, have been essentially lobotomized into lethargy.  No one sees this.  No one writes of this.  No one covers it.  No one goes berserk over this!

This isn’t YOUR money, DC!  This is MY money you’re pissing away!  In order to elect a two-toed sloth in an open shirt who has stated he plans to piss MORE of my money away to the pointless, the lazy, the arrogant, the entitled, the unmotivated, the haughty, the illegal, the Leftists, the Socialists, those who wish to — like himself — see Cloward-Piven truly enacted nationally.

A man who has never kept a budget, run a business, met a payroll, had to sacrifice, despises our military, our national traditions, despises success and private establishments, wants Americans to be ashamed of success, gladly became the Apologist-In-Chief, eschews the very same transparency he promised, dodges actual work, hard work, dodged his job in the Senate (by voting “present” 129 times, an easy and cowardly way to avoid contentious issues), took campaign contributions from Bain Capital —

Oh wait, that’s correct.  You read it here: Mr Obama took campaign money FROM BAIN CAPITAL.  Yes.  The SAME Bain Capital he accuses Mr Romney of Masterminding (bwaa-ha-haaa), which did nothing but crush big companies, kill small children and animals, outsource jobs, set fires in forests, slit the throats of the homeless and sack good and decent Americans.

Note this:

“Bain Capital contributed to Obama and Romney in 2008. Obama received $95,270. More striking is the fact that Bain gave $495,900 to the Democrat Party versus $183,150 to the Republicans.”

Let’s perhaps, then, point this out:

“Obama for America failed to file notice of nearly 2 million dollars in contributions in 2008.”

Further:

“Final Audit Report on Obama for America. On April 19, the Commission made public the Final Audit Report of the Commission on Obama for America (OFA) covering campaign finance activity between January 16, 2007 and December 31, 2008. The Commission approved a finding that OFA failed to file required 48-hour notices totaling $1,972,266 received in 2008.”

And even further:

“Barack Obama’s campaign has been quick to rip Mitt Romney for his association with Bain Capital, which outsourced certain jobs during restructuring of companies. There’s only one problem: many of the very executives who were running Bain Capital during the 1999-2002 period now under media scrutiny donated to Obama’s presidential campaign. And Obama was more than happy to cash the checks.

The same SEC form from February 2001 that lists Mitt Romney as “sole shareholder, sole director, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bain Capital … the controlling person of Bain Capital” also lists over a dozen other managing directors of Bain Capital, Inc. — all of whom were undoubtedly more active than Romney was during this period. And President Obama took money from many of them.

Take Joshua Bekenstein. Bekenstein has been a managing director of Bain Capital since 1986. In 2008, he signed Barack Obama a $4,600 check. In 2004, he gave a $50,000 donation to the Democratic National Committee. That’s outsourcing money, plain and simple. And Obama was happy to take it.

Or how about Stephen Pagliuca? Last year, he cut a $35,800 check to Barack Obama’s Victory Fund. Then he cut another $30,800 check to the DNC. And another $30,800 check to the DCCC. Jonathan Lavine and Mark Nunnelly have both maxed out to Obama already, as well as to the DNC. Lavin was a bundler for Obama, and raised over $100,000 for him. Michael Krupka gave Obama $4,600 in 2008.”

Ladies and gentlemen, please.  You have to understand what is at stake here.  It isn’t simply an “election” this time.  It’s about the future of this nation, its success or failure.  The stakes are in fact that high.  The bar has been raised.  And you are purposely being MUSHROOMED by the DEM/MSM — see the above links.

Drudge hints: Condi Rice for Romney’s VP?

Admittedly, I failed to see this coming.

I would have enjoyed perhaps Tom McClintock, Paul Ryan, Allen West, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal or any number of other young guns. I did not see the possibility of Condoleezza Rice being considered. I thought she had made her prior refusals quite clear — but that was — as we may all recall — for the presidential spot, not VP.

That said, I’d take Rice over any number of inept, staid, corrupt, decrepit “Old Republicans” one molecule away from their brethren and sistren across the aisle.

Peggy Noonan of the Wall Street Journal writes — as many people inherently know but mostly refuse to verbalize — that Obama “seems to view politics as his weary duty, something he had to do on his way to greatness.” And that Condi Rice would be a “brilliant choice” as VP.

Even Limbaugh wonders: “Condi?”

Let me get the obvious up front and out of the way. She is more “black” than Obama — because that actually matters to some blacks. [That’s a massive topic for another day. –BZ] She is more educated than Obama. She has infinitely more experience than Obama as the 66th Secretary of State under Bush. She was a poli-sci professor at Stanford, Bush’s National Security Advisor in his first term and is, well, female. She had to overcome incredible obstacles in her way. She is a concert-level pianist. Under Wikepedia:

Rice was a Democrat until 1982, when she changed her political affiliation to Republican, in part because she disagreed with the foreign policy of Democratic President Jimmy Carter,[16][17] and because of the influence of her father, who was Republican. As she told the 2000 Republican National Convention, “My father joined our party because the Democrats in Jim Crow Alabama of 1952 would not register him to vote. The Republicans did.”[18]

Imagine that. Those evil Republicans.

BZ: one door closes; another one OPENS

Sooner or later, it had to come.

I’ve been on Blogger since my first post on June 19th of 2004.

But Blogger, as you likely realize, is owned and run by Google.  You know, the same monster that recently decided to eliminate the newest Romney promo video on YouTube — that’s right, also owned by Google.

I figure it’s just a matter of time before Google decides to eliminate me because, after all, I’ve had an eight-year blogging romp for free.  And I’m one blogpost short of tapping a major Conservative vein that Google doesn’t like.

On one front I have to hand it to Blogger: this adventure — and boy was it an adventure — didn’t cost me a damned thing except blood, sweat, tears and massive amounts of time.  For a free venue I’d say I’ve gotten my money’s worth but, of course, there is no such thing as the proverbial Free Lunch.  Sooner or later a price has to be paid.  And the upcoming price those linked to Blogger will have to soon face: censorship.

And I refuse to go there.  I will pay for my own “sovereignty,” so to speak.  Because you really do, in the end, get what you pay for.

Now: I am involved in a consortium with TexasFred, American & Proud, and Texas Shady.  We all kick in buckage for our server time, domain names and techno upkeep.  And we OWN our domain names now.

Frankly, it just allows me to sleep a bit better at night knowing that no one can take this blog down for some arbitrary or capricious reason.  I would ask, though, for a time, that you hold a bit of tolerance in your heart for me whilst I learn and transition from Blogger to WordPress.  I may make some — ahem — clumsy mistakes that otherwise wouldn’t have occurred.  For me it’s a learning curve; steep but possible.  I must apologize in advance for future ham-handed efforts to come until I get this WordPress “thing” down.

That said and written, I would ask three questions:

1. What do you think of the new site?
2. Why do you visit BZ and what do you expect to find?
3. How can I make it better?

In closing, I say: Goodbye to Blogger, and to the old Bloviating Zeppelin site.  Some have suggested I simply take it down and move on.  But like one of my children, I can’t do that.  It will be up as long as Blogger allows.  I cut my political and techno teeth on that blog.

BZ is dead.  Long live BZ!

Except: one door is closing and another door is simply opening a bit further.
