Of course healthcare.gov can be hacked — just as we knew it would be.
And your medical records can be accessed — by anyone with the cash and the time and the experience — just as we knew it can be.

Hacker breached HealthCare.gov insurance site
by Danny Yadron
A hacker broke into part of the HealthCare.gov insurance enrollment website in July and uploaded malicious software, according to federal officials.
Investigators found no evidence that consumers’ personal data was taken in the breach, federal officials said. The hacker appears only to have accessed a server used to test code for HealthCare.gov. The Department of Health and Human Services discovered the attack last week.
An HHS official said the attack appears to mark the first successful intrusion into the website, where millions of Americans bought insurance starting last year under the Affordable Care Act. It raised concerns among federal officials because of how easily the intruder gained access and how much damage could have occurred.
Ah. Nice to know the federal government — the most massive repository of medical records on the planet — can be so readily and illegally accessed. Let’s see, what else is on this website? Oh, that’s right — roughly everything about you, to include your health history, your SSN, your address, predilections, credit history, personal information, ad nauseum.
Perfect. My confidence in the federal government his skyrocketed, as I’m sure your has too.
Just as we knew it would.

Nothing like giving the baby hackers a challenge… sigh…
Supposedly the U.S. Government has the best and the brightest of everything doing the setup, writing the programs and maintaining security on all of their computer systems…
The White House has been hacked, as have the FBI, CIA and several other government agencies…
I have to wonder; are OUR guys that inept or are the hackers that good?

Even though I am a LE retiree from the Feds,,,,I trust those other bureaucrats as far as I can kick an anvil barefooted.
Never have had a problem,,,,but this muslim pres of ours will do anything for the Saudi King who is his confidant and supporter, and lover in the ways one needs knee pads.
It was just a matter of when. The article was loaded with reassurances: the attack was discovered last week, BUT how long ago did it actually occur? Said the website was not SPECIFICALLY targeted, then what was? Mentioned how easily the access was gained yet it was not being targeted? What was this, a driveby hacking? . They have ‘taken measures’ to strengthen security. Shouldn’t security have been strong from the beginning?
No damage was done this time (so they say) but IMO, if it can be hacked it can be altered. What happens if one day you find out your e healthrecord suddenly contains wrong information, lab results, diagnoses, treatments? Feds come knocking on your door because your e HR now shows you’ve been diagnosed as paranoid and your gun registration shows you are a gun owner. In another lifetime I could never have conceived of such a far out possibilty but these days?
