The continuing corruption of Puerto Rico

Outed, once again, because of focus on Hurricane Florence, about to strike the east coast of the United States near the Carolinas this week.

Whilst on Twitter, I came across the Tweet below which contains important information, attributions and series of photographs. This should make you sick on any number of levels. The human level, the compassion level, the corruption level and the incompetence of Puerto Rico.

I last wrote about Puerto Rico’s corruption involving its Leftist Demorat Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz Soto — who lied baldly to Geraldo Rivera, on October 3rd of 2017. Soto continually claimed that she was getting no help from President Trump. We know that was a lie as documented in my post.

More information has been revealed. First, the Tweet that captured my attention.

Then there was this video from David Begnaud himself:

Here are the enlarged photos of millions of water bottles still stagnating, falling apart, on the aforementioned Puerto Rico runway.

This is, of course, a humanitarian disaster of incredible proportions. It is also a massive, rampant and continuing waste of US taxpayer dollars — money coming from your pocket — so that certain people in Puerto Rico, for political purposes or rank, naked corruption, can point their fingers in damnation at the people who tried to help.

Let’s be blunt. FEMA is not, I repeat: NOT a first responder. They only assist in the aftermath. Local agencies and authorities are responsible for themselves and for coordination with FEMA if an event can be anticipated. Once supplies have been provided, it is up to the local agencies to take the ball and run, with FEMA and other outlets as assistance.

The Puerto Rican situation wasn’t because of a DC dropped ball. It was because of localized ignorance, apathy, corruption or a host of political motivations to include the various island unions that were supposed to be tasked with the movement of aid.

Stop with the “poor Puerto Rico” crap.

John Cleese skewers Auntie Beeb, the UK and Emily Maitlis

Further, John Cleese is leaving the UK and heading for the Caribbean. He’s fed up with the United Kingdom and doesn’t mind saying so.

Interviewer Emily Maitlis tried to convince Mr Cleese that the BBC conducts “robust news reporting” — “come on Maitlis, pull yourself together” — but, well, it would appear that the trust level of the UK media as compared to the rest of the EU countries is dead last out of 33. Turkey beats the UK for trusted media. Cleese objects to what he terms the “lying and the triviality.” In essence: Fake News.

“Least trusted does not necessarily mean not true,” Maitlis countered.

Cleese also pointed out something amazing: Monty Python is more popular in the US than it is in England. Cleese suggests that is because Python would overshadow what passes for current “comedy” in the UK which is, uh, no comedy. Thanks, PC Leftists.

Cue Jerry Seinfeld and the PC Police in the United States.

The sad state of affairs that Cleese admitted? In all of 2018 he’s only been in the UK for two weeks.

I find myself, essentially, in the camp of John Cleese these days. We are older, well off, and don’t mind saying what we’ve been thinking and holding back for years because, frankly, we are at the point in our lives where we couldn’t care less what anyone thinks of us. I’m not here to impress people any more. People are here to impress me.

Truly, that is quite liberating.

Live long enough to try it.

AP article about US military couldn’t be more deceptive

The Associated Press (AP) reported this on July 6th:

AP NewsBreak: US Army quietly discharging immigrant recruits

by Martha Mendoza and Garance Burke

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Some immigrant U.S. Army reservists and recruits who enlisted in the military with a promised path to citizenship are being abruptly discharged, the Associated Press has learned.

The AP was unable to quantify how many men and women who enlisted through the special recruitment program have been booted from the Army, but immigration attorneys say they know of more than 40 who have been discharged or whose status has become questionable, jeopardizing their futures.

“It was my dream to serve in the military,” said reservist Lucas Calixto, a Brazilian immigrant who filed a lawsuit against the Army last week. “Since this country has been so good to me, I thought it was the least I could do to give back to my adopted country and serve in the United States military.”

Some of the service members say they were not told why they were being discharged. Others who pressed for answers said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.

The article, of course, was trumpeted near and far by the exclusive elements of the LDAMM because, after all, it’s their job. Check their job descriptions.

There’s just one problem. The AP was wrong. They conveniently left just a few things out of that article. I couldn’t imagine why.

China, Pakistan and Iran. Those were the countries of greatest concern. Odd how, now, when Mexico is in the crosshairs, none of the soldiers in question were from Mexico. NONE. This is the sound of my forehead being slapped.

Wait. What does China, Pakistan and Iran have in common? Oh yeah. Countries wishing the destruction of the US. Perhaps it was in this fashion that concern was raised?

There was this from the WashingtonExaminer.com:

AP’s report on Army immigrant discharges looks highly misleading

by Becket Adams

The Associated Press reported this week that the U.S. Army is “quietly discharging immigrant recruits.” It sounded quite awful. But it was more misleading than anything else.

The report stated initially that the Army “has moved in recent weeks to discharge immigrant recruits and reservists who enlisted through a program that promised them a path to citizenship. Some of these service members say they weren’t told why they were being discharged. Others say the Army told them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because their background checks were pending.”

The intended takeaway was that the president and his immigration hardliners have gone so far as to target even immigrants who’ve joined the U.S. armed forces via the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest program, or MAVNI.

Uh oh. Could it get down to individuals? And as I have said weekly, “but wait, there’s more”?

It doesn’t appear to be that cut and dried. The AP report leaves out an explanation of what the hell is actually happening.

First, it’s a full seven paragraphs before the reader is informed that the AP article is about applicants who’ve only enlisted, but never even started basic training. It’s a bit of a stretch to use the word “discharged” for people who’ve only applied and then failed the prerequisite background check. You can’t be fired from a job for which you were never hired.

Of course. Sins of commission. In this case, sins of omission. One and the same.

Second, it’s unclear just how many MAVNI applicants have been given the boot. The AP claims there are at least 40 cases, but considering that more than 10,000 noncitizens joined or signed contracts between 2009 and 2017, the number 40 suggests this may yet not be a plot to target immigrant recruits.

But the most damning paragraph of all?

Third, there’s the fact that the MAVNI program was effectively shut down in 2016 over security concerns. All new recruitment was halted, which put a select group of applicants in a curious “bureaucratic limbo,” according to Military.com’s Richard Sisk.

“The beginning of the end for MAVNI came in the form of a September 2016 memo to the service secretaries from Peter Levine, then the acting under secretary for personnel and readiness,” Sisk reported in April.

2016. Wait. President Trump wasn’t President Trump. Who? Oh yeah. Barack Hussein Obama. President.

But the most damning — yet quite careful — paragraph is below.

This really is the biggest problem. As readers, we’re told something is wrong, but we’re never really given the full context. We’re not told whether this is a new policy implemented by the current administration or whether the rejections are the consequence of the 2016 MAVNI security enhancements. For what it’s worth, a Pentagon spokesperson said Friday that the AP has “mischaracterized” its handling of the MAVNI recruits, adding further that there has been “no change in policy.”

Please allow me to brutally translate: the AP knew precisely what it was doing when it published the article. I knew precisely that it was jam-gepacked with half truths and omissions. But it published the article anyway. It had to have gone through a writing process, an editing process and then final approval. It was approved anyway. This was no “accident,” no “oopsie,” no “damn, how did we miss that” kind of situation.

This was purposeful.

The American Media Maggots continue to deserve that appellation week after week, day after day.

The American media cannot NOT lie

Most recent Time magazine cover which purposely misleads the viewer about the truth involving “refugee” and “asylum” illegals, placing the blame, as you can see, “at the feet of President Donald Trump.” An abject lie.

They lack the capability any more. They prove it time and again. Monthly. Weekly, Daily. Some lies are bigger than others. Some are lies of omission. Some are purposely deceptive such as the photograph above.

At a time when they must be more ethical, more accurate, more unbiased and jam-gepacked with probity — the American Media Maggots continue to move in the opposite direction. Precisely in lockstep with the Demorats and Leftists.

Listen, watch and learn.

From FoxNews.com:

Crying migrant girl on TIME magazine cover was not separated from mother, family says

by Adam Shaw

A little girl shown in a viral photo crying as a U.S. Border Patrol agent detained her mother – and used by TIME magazine to symbolize the Trump administration’s family separation policy – reportedly was never separated from her mom.

“Welcome to America,” declared a somber TIME cover, which showed the picture of the Honduran child Yanela Sanchez next to a towering President Trump.

TIME, which is standing by the cover despite the new information, originally called it “an image America could not ignore” and interviewed the photographer, as did other outlets. TIME followed up with another article entirely about the cover and “the story behind” it.

Please see my first two paragraphs above. Confirmed by Time. They cannot not lie. They completely lack the capability. They don’t possess that gene. Then Time doubled down on their naked half truths with more bias. Odd. Just as the Demorats and Leftists are doing.

Multiple outlets interviewed the father of the girl behind the iconic image, and he said he had learned that his two-year-old daughter was detained with her mother at a facility in Texas, and the two were not separated at all. The Honduran government confirmed his version of events to Reuters.

The Washington Post reported that the mother, Sandra Sanchez, had previously been deported in 2013 to Honduras. Her husband told the Post that she left without telling him she was taking Yanela with her and couldn’t contact her. But then he saw the picture on the news.

“You can imagine how I felt when I saw that photo of my daughter. It broke my heart. It’s difficult as a father to see that, but I know now that they are not in danger. They are safer now than when they were making that journey to the border,” Denis Javier Varela Hernandez told The Daily Mail.

The bottom line is: the publishing of Time magazine’s cover was a deliberate attempt to mainstream the idea that only President Trump is responsible for separating children from parents at our border, and only President Trump threw foil blankets at children and kept them behind chain link fences. Both are lies.

Articles the LDAMM don’t wish you to read or know about, to include:

There are many more stories of this nature.

The continuing hypocrisy — not just with this issue but, literally, any other issue involving President Trump — is that, pick one, they’ve been ignored under the previous 8 year Obama Administration.

And that they’ve only somehow magically become significant issues now.

Important Safety Tip to the American Media Maggots: learn the First Rule of Holes.

You will cease being called Fake News when you stop printing and promoting news that is false. A lie. You know: fake. Half-truths won’t cut it. Doubling down on what you wrongly did, printed or showed won’t cut it.

You’re just like the FBI now these days. Stop your whining. No one trusts you. You brought the situation upon yourselves. It’s up to you to fix things. No one else.

Suck it up, buttercup.

Get to work.
