Clinton refuses to say gun ownership a constitutional right
by Gabby Morrongiello
Hillary Clinton declined to say during an interview Sunday whether she believes the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution.
“Do you believe that an individual’s right to bear arms is a constitutional right, that it’s not linked to service in a militia?” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked the Democratic presidential front-runner.
“I think that for most of our history, there was a nuanced reading of the Second Amendment until the decision by the late Justice [Antonin] Scalia, and there was no argument until then that localities and states and the federal government had a right, as we do with every amendment, to impose reasonable regulations,” Clinton responded.
She added, “So I believe we can have common-sense gun safety measures consistent with the Second Amendment.”
Here’s a clue: even for George Stephanopoulis, that wasn’t an answer. It was Mouth Jello. World pablum.
“But that’s not what I asked,” Stephanopoulos interjected. “I said, do you believe that their conclusion that an individual’s right to bear arms is a constitutional right?”
“If it is a constitutional right, then it, like every other constitutional right, is subject to reasonable regulations, and what people have done with that decision is to take it as far as they possibly can and reject what has been our history from the very beginning of the republic, where some of the earliest laws that were passed were about firearms,” Clinton said, declining a second time to answer the question directly.
“IF.”
For God’s sake, even Bernie Sanders believes in the Second Amendment more than Hillary Clinton.
FBI tells teachers to inform on students who express ‘anti-government’ and ‘anarchist’ political beliefs as high schools are ‘ideal targets’ for extremist recruiters
by Wills Robinson
Document urges faculty members to assess behavior of students
They suggest to watch for certain signs, such as tendency toward violence
Bureau hopes indications could prevent future terrorist attacks
They believed it would help reduce the number of youngsters joining terrorist or anti-government groups
It would seem to me the real “extremist recruiters” could be some of the teachers already employed in public schools.
The FBI wants teachers to inform on ‘anti-government’ or ‘anarchist’ students.
In a document titled ‘Preventing Violence and Extremism in Schools’, the bureau urges faculty members to assess concerning behavior of schoolchildren as they may be ’embracing extremist ideologies’.
They also list a number of indications, such as violent tendencies, which may be a sign they are planning an attack or may want to join a terrorist group.
Officials then want staff to pass on information to authorities in a bid to prevent any actions which could put others in danger.
In other words, the United States government wants to make an enemy out of me once again — but oddly enough, only during Leftist administrations. The federal government wants to make an enemy of its soldiers, of those who believe in religion (excepting that of Islam) and those who believe in the Second Amendment.
AG Lynch Testifies: Justice Dept. Has ‘Discussed’ Civil Legal Action Against Climate Change Deniers
by Jon Street
Attorney General Loretta Lynch testified Wednesday that the Justice Department has “discussed” taking civil legal action against the fossil fuel industry for “denying” the “threat of carbon emissions” when it comes to climate change.
A Democrat asked and was answered:
“My question to you is, other than civil forfeitures and matters attendant to a criminal case, are there other circumstances in which a civil matter under the authority of the Department of Justice has been referred to the FBI?” he asked.
“This matter has been discussed. We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action on,” Lynch answered. “I’m not aware of a civil referral at this time.”
This European country is about to disarm all its police
by Staff
Police in Norway will no longer carry guns.
The country has announced that the armament of its police officers, which began in 2014, will cease “as soon as possible” after it was deemed no longer necessary.
Plans to stop issuing officers with guns were announced last November but were postponed after the terror attacks in Paris.
Allow me to interject briefly for a moment. This is a perfect example of a GOWP mindset and belief system. The whole 1800s disproven and doddering “if we disarm they’ll disarm” thingie. Disarming eliminates the aggro. Brilliant idea.
Except that apparently you Brits and Norwegians failed to read your own article. You know, the part above where it says “Plans to stop issuing officers with guns were announced last November but were postponed after the terror attacks in Paris.
“Postponed after the terror attacks in Paris.”
Here in Yankdom, that’s called a “clue.”
As in: “hey, have you ever considered that might occur again?” Further, ever thought it may happen in, say, NORWAY?
Nah.
Because, remember, only barbaric Western nations like the US carry firearms. You believe we are a total gun culture, just as we believe you are a total Socialist culture. Except that, well, yes, you are a total Socialist culture. More on that in later posts.
Okay, alright. Got me. Yamamoto was correct.
But look at yourselves. All dressed up butch-like in your glossy black leather and nylon crotch straps, brandishing Sigs with your black and deadly machine pistols and automatic weapons. The only difference is that US weapons are a little longer and we don’t sling them over our chests customarily. We normally lock them in our cars, stacked next to our shotguns, between the seats. (We keep the flamethrowers, RPGs and tactical nukes in the trunk where they can’t be seen.)
I do like the checkerboard thingie, and your patch. Nice patch.
Oh. And most of us male US cops aren’t allowed to grow beards unless we’re undercover. Just saying.
Police have announced once again that the armament will cease, with the Police Directorate saying that “there are no longer grounds to continue”.
Oh really?
Apparently you guys don’t read your own press, or the press in Germany and Sweden and the rest of Europe. Let’s look at Europe. Let’s look at the location of Germany — which Angela Merkel has already doomed — in relation to Norway.
Examine Norway in relation to the rest of Europe and the other countries where Muslim “refugees” — mostly war-age young males — are flooding. The Baltic and North Seas may not quite be the total insulatory factor you’re hoping for.
Particularly considering the massive issues Germany is having with young Muslim males, as well as Sweden and — tada! — Norway.
Perhaps you should watch some of the buttery goodness provided by Muslim males in Germany via Islam, the religion of peace and understanding.
Perhaps you need to listen to this, from a nurse in Bavaria, Deutschland, as read on US radio.
Some of El Chapo’s terrible handiwork in Mexico. F&F firearms were used to kill El Chapo’s enemies and innocents alike.
And not just “any” firearm; oh no.
You remember Holder’s “Fast & Furious” debacle, right? The one where US Attorney General Eric Holder’s BATFE thought it would be a splendid idea to allow weapons to cross into Mexico under its “supervision” as Operation Gunrunner, then later as Operation Fast and Furious. More than 2,000 guns were sold to suspected criminals thought to be linked to the Sinaloa drug cartel and other Mexican criminal organizations in the two years of the operation under the Obama presidency. Shock of shocks, there were criminals involved. So in essence the BATFE knowingly allowed US weapons to be “walked” into Mexico. BATFE agents lost track of 1,400 of the 2,000 guns sold.
On Dec. 14, 2010, US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed during a gunfight. It was discovered that weapons in the shootout stemmed from the Fast and Furious operation. A BATFE scheme, therefore, was directly responsible for the death of an American law enforcement officer.
Let us also not forget that documents about F&F were handed over to Representative Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee in November of 2014 (four years after the murder of Agent Terry) only after the White House tried to use executive privilege in an attempt to halt emails related to the case, and contempt of Congress charges against Attorney General Eric Holder in 2012, On June 28th of 2012, AG Holder was in fact held in contempt of Congress — the first time ever for a US presidential cabinet member.
Here’s something else people conveniently forget: Emails released to Judicial Watch, a group that filed suit to obtain legal documents from the Justice Department, showed Holder’s direct involvement with officials throughout the Justice Department and the ATF in how to handle congressional inquiries and ways to format talking points about Fast and Furious.
‘Fast & Furious’ rifle capable of taking down helicopter found in ‘El Chapo’ cache
by William La Jeunesse
A.50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was funneled through the gun-smuggling investigation known as Fast and Furious, sources confirmed Tuesday to Fox News.
When agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives checked serial numbers of the eight weapons found in his possession, they found one of the two .50-caliber weapons traced back to the ATF program, sources said.
You cannot convince me that Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast & Furious weren’t crafted by the Obama administration as an excuse to enact more gun control regulations across the board. CBS had the records to indicate so.
The NRA’s Wayne LaPierre nailed the issue when he said:
We wouldn’t know about this at all if [Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry] had not been killed and some of the good, honest, decent federal agents down the line had enough of the stench coming out of Washington and started to use the Whistleblower Act to go public and call the Justice Department out on this whole rotten, stinking scheme.
It’s clear the Obama administration and Eric Holder had their anti-gun agendas and did their best to stomp the whistleblowers and stifle the investigation.
Otherwise thousands of guns would still be going over the border into the Mexican drug cartels and the President and the Attorney General and the Secretary of State would all be running around going, ’90 percent of the guns come from America’ in an attempt to seek political advantage and in an attempt to enact more gun control laws on honest American citizens and use this whole issue politically against the Second Amendment of the United States.
Precisely sir. One of the major reasons I decided to join the NRA recently. I am tired of Demorats and Leftists trampling on America’s foundational documents.
Good to know the fuckups of Obama and Holder are still the gifts that keep on giving. How many people did that rifle take out at over 1,000 yards?
I’ll just do it all my own self, Mr Obama says. I shall rule from on high via executive fiat.
Marco Rubio says, “Barack Obama is obsessed with undermining the Second USAmendment.”
Let’s watch Mr Obama’s condescending and tearful lecture to law-abiding Americans, shall we?
Obama wants:
– Licensing requirements for smaller-scale gun sellers. – The hiring of an additional 230 FBI employees to process background checks 24/7 – Provisions enabling states to share mental health information – Dollars for research into “gun safety technology.” I.E., “smart guns”
The truth is that currently 38 states submit less than 80% of their felony convictions into the background check system. DC won’t even repair the current system. Now they want to expand it. Nonsense. All you have to do is ENFORCE the federal gun laws currently on the books.
This isn’t so much about the “gun control” EO as it is about Mr Obama’s continuing disregard for the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Article 1of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress its powers and limits. Congress is the legislative branch of the government, meaning they are the ones to make laws for the United States of America. The article also creates the two sections of Congress, which is called a bicameral legislature.
Meaning: Congress creates laws, not the president.
But here’s the truth: federal firearms convictions under Obama have fallen 15.5% in the past five years, and 34.8% in the past ten years. Yes, that IS under Mr Obama’s rule. Those stats are from the Syracuse University TRAC Project.
Meaning: again Mr Obama is two-faced, duplicitous and a LIAR. He could direct his AGs to go after gun crime tenaciously BUT — here is the further truth — the suspects would be predominantly BLACK and from large urban areas like Detroit, DC, Chicago, Atlanta. Mr Obama certainly cannot have that.
Sure. Violent felons and gang members buy all their guns online and in gun stores and at gun shows. There’s nothing more satisfying to a dealer with an FFL than selling an AK-47 to a tatted-up MS-13 gang member or a frothing nutcase holding a stuffed toy who walks up to their counter.
A further lie: yes, you can purchase a firearm online. But to whom does it go and where? Oh yes. Your local dealer who has an FFL and must then run a background check before physically handing the gun over to you.
Sometimes the FBI and the DOJ actually miss those few felons who attempt to purchase handguns. That’s not a local problem, that’s a federal problem. As in: just enforce what’s on the books with more efficiency.
Plus: now you’re a single mother. You suffer from post-partum depression. You want a firearm for protection because your apartment complex is rife with drug dealers and you want to protect your child. Is your doctor now mandated to contact the FBI? Under this EO your doctor is mandated to go around HIPAA privacy laws to rat you out. But who truly is “fit to own a firearm”? No one in the federal government can answer that question.
Ideology doesn’t just stop at the Spite House. It can surely exist in your doctors office. What will you say? What can you say?
Further you cannot wrap suicide numbers in with the homicide numbers in terms of “gun violence.” But of course Mr Obama does that very same thing. The vast majority of gun deaths stem from suicide.
Background checks will not solve the issue of gun suicide. Those who are intent on suicide will simply transition from guns to rocks to pills to knives to state-sponsored death.
Will you “commit” anyone who mentions depression, anxiety, who has talked about giving up? How will that affect civil liberties?
AGAIN, Republicans miss a golden opportunity to state the OBVIOUS: Mr Obama couldn’t care less about our foundational documents and, instead, issues laws by imperial fiat, completely bypassing an entire THIRD branch of government.
And if you don’t know the three branches of government, then you are a massive part of the problem in America.
