Graham was animated and contentious and emotive and passionate at last Tuesday’s GOP debate, but he became something of a One Trick Pony with regard to ISIS.
What “killed” Lindsay Graham? He wanted to put the proverbial “boots on the ground” again in the Middle East. Up to 20,000 of them.
Graham could be provided a cabinet appointment, perhaps for SecDef, or maybe Secretary of State.

Glad to see him go. About six more GOP candidates need to make the same decision so the electorate can get down to business. Graham is correct in that ground forces will be needed to retake the territory the Islamic State now holds. No war has ever been won without infantry. The question is who’s will it be. Don’t count on the Saudi’s as they are in part responsible for IS rise to power. We shouldn’t partner with the Iranians as they are our enemy also. NATO has no balls. So who if not the U.S.? Won’t happen on Obama’s watch. So IS is allowed to grow and fester and becomes the next administrations problem.
