As I’ve warned now for years: “Census Bureau: Means-Tested Gov’t Benefit Recipients Outnumber Full-Time Year-Round Workers”

(CNSNews.com) – Americans who were recipients of means-tested government benefits in 2011 outnumbered year-round full-time workers, according to data released this month by the Census Bureau. They also out-numbered the total population of the Philippines.

There were 108,592,000 people in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2011 who were recipients of one or more means-tested government benefit programs, the Census Bureau said in data released this week. Meanwhile, according to the Census Bureau, there were 101,716,000 people who worked full-time year round in 2011. That included both private-sector and government workers.

The next sentence is shocking but, in my opinion, not unexpected or unforeseen:

That means there were about 1.07 people getting some form of means-tested government benefit for every 1 person working full-time year round.

I have written, for some time, of the tipping point where the Parasites outnumber the Hosts.

Statistically, it appears, we are there.

If the ship’s pumps are not activated, the flooding waters will cause the Ship of State to catastrophically capsize.

Obamacare Website Failure Threatens Health Coverage For Millions Of Americans

Even the leftest of Leftist sites, this time the Huffington Post, admits that ObamaKare is a complete disaster.  HuffPo actually wrote:

A broken website imperils the largest expansion of the American safety net since the Great Society.

More than two weeks into the disastrous rollout of HealthCare.gov, the website created by President Barack Obama’s health care reform law still isn’t working right.

The stakes are high for uninsured people, individuals and families who buy their health insurance directly and the entire health care industry. Without a functioning health insurance exchange, many people too sick or too poor to get health insurance under the old rules will remain shut out of the system. The millions of Americans who already buy their own insurance will face major disruptions. Health insurance companies could experience a nightmare scenario where the bulk of the individuals who brave the frustrating sign-up process are those who are sick, desperate for coverage and expensive to treat.

And anyone who isn’t able to get coverage because of the exchanges’ problems could confront the prospect of tax penalties through no fault of their own.

The administration won’t say how many people have signed up so far, but its reported goal of enrolling 500,000 people this month appears difficult to reach.

And that is an incredible salient and highly-ignored sentence.

If ObamaKare was such a wonderfully popular drug, if it were cost effective and efficient and sprinkled lovingly with flaked gold and laudanum as portrayed by Mr Obama — you can be assured that you would hear the literal and physical statistics of its success trumpeted from the highest minarets throughout the land.

Instead, the Obaka Administration is stonewalling actual figures to anyone and everyone, including Left Wing sites.  This withholding of numbers bespeaks volumes — meaning: Obama’s rollout is a frakking bust.  With such a willing load of media water carriers in the guise of the tongue-lolling American Media Maggots, it helps if there’s actual water to carry.

Isn’t it odd how Paul Ryan was absolutely prescient when he said:

“The bill is full of gimmicks and smoke and mirrors.”  Truly.  Give the piano player a drink because he’s bringing me down.

Despite the fact that Mr Obama outright and bald-faced LIED when he said:

The plans are all more expensive due to your loving federal government.  The Affordable Care Act was the result of what Leftists portrayed as a crisis-crisis-CRISIS and now — today — sometimes you have to break a few eggs in order to not provide an omelette to anyone at all.

Original estimate for the ObakaKare website: $93 million dollars.  It now costs $500 million dollars, and the forecasted estimate for the cost of this site by the end of November = $1 billion dollars.  The ACA team had THREE YEARS to work on this.  And http://www.healthcare.org is what you get.  The site has a 10X cost over-run.  This week.

But here’s the unspoken truth about the actual runout of ObakaKare:

Rush on Medicaid could spell trouble for ObamaCare’s health

While virtually all the ObamaCare focus is trained on the program’s dysfunctional website, another problem could be emerging — in states where individuals are able to sign up, far more are enrolling in Medicaid than private plans.

For now, the statistics are spotty. The Obama administration still hasn’t provided figures on how many people have successfully enrolled through the federally run exchanges. Some, but not all, states have provided their own relatively up-to-date figures.

But for those that have, the lopsided numbers show Medicaid is getting the lion’s share of enrollees.

“There are a lot of elements of this law that have to work, that must work — otherwise the whole thing collapses,” the Cato Institute’s Michael Cannon said. “They need — need — lots of healthy people to sign up for insurance through the exchanges.”

The main reason the Affordable Care Act mandated that individuals buy insurance was so that private insurers would get enough young, healthy people in the system who could offset the costs of covering older and sicker patients. Otherwise, at the very least, costs will skyrocket for those in the system.

In other states, Medicaid is also by far the more popular choice of those enrolling this month. 

The Democrat and Chronicle newspaper reports that in New York, nearly 24,000 of the 37,000 newly enrolled residents are going into Medicaid, which millions of New Yorkers are already on. Just 13,313 chose private plans.

Uh-oh.

Hillary Clinton heckled: “Benghazi, you let them die”

Hillary Clinton UnhappyThe media indicates that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was “heckled” (First question to mind: where was Jeckle?) at a University of Buffalo (NY) event this week.

Former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke to a large crowd at the University at Buffalo Wednesday night, as part of the university’s Distinguished Speaker Series, and was heckled.

“Benghazi, you let them die,” the heckler shouted.

“We have to be willing to come together as citizens to focus on the kind of future we want, which doesn’t include yelling. It includes sitting down and talking with one another,” Clinton said in response to the heckler to huge applause from the audience.

Correct.  Yelling is bad form and verboten.  I completely agree.

Another reason I so love YouTube and the internet.

Grayson’s comparison: the TEA Party to the KKK and cross burnings

TEA Party Grayson Cross BurningAlan Mark Grayson, the United States Representative for Florida’s 9th congressional district and a member of the Democratic Party, is quite a hateful man.

The 55-year-old Grayson, whose wife is named Lolita (apparently a tribute to Nabokov, if you can manage to paste that image into your wheelhouse), has made it clear that the TEA Party equates to the KKK and cross burnings.

In a campaign email sent Monday, the Orlando Democrat includes the transcript of an interview he did recently on MSNBC in which Grayson said that the politics of the government shutdown had turned many Americans away from the tea party.

Further:

“At this point, the tea party is no more popular than the Klan,” Grayson said.

The email then takes that comparison one step further by including a photograph of a burning cross with Klansmen in the background. The cross then becomes the “T” in the words “Tea Party” transposed over the picture. Below is the caption: “Now you know what the ‘T’ stands for.”

And the understanding and smoothing and licking and grooming of the Leftists goes on and on and on.

Because there is no greater an inclusive group than Leftists nationwide.

15% of young people, age 16 to 24, are not going to school or working

And this means, essentially, those persons have pretty much “dropped out” of being involved in US society.  That equates to six million people in a nation of 300 million.

This is a staggering statistic, and the possible reasons are staggering as well.

Those two primary reasons would be:

1. They are being supported by their parents, or
2. They are being supported by government: the American Taxpayer

You.

How about some more statistics from CNSNews.com:

(CNSNews.com) – The number of Americans who are 16 years or older and who have decided not to participate in the nation’s labor force has climbed to a record 90,609,000  in September, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

And here comes an earthshaking statistic:

In from July to August, according to BLS, Americans not participating in the labor force climbed from 89,957,000 to 90,473,000, pushing past 90,000,000 for the first time, with a one month increase of 516,000.

But the telling paragraph comes next:

One reason for the increasing number of people not in the labor force is the aging of the Baby Boom generation, whose members have begun retiring–and are not being replaced by an equal number of young people entering the labor force.

Read that paragraph again.  Digest it.  Understand it.

Correct.  Boomers are not being replaced by the upcoming young classes.  They are present but they are not getting involved in work.  See the reasons above.

The final paragraph in the article is telling as well.  Question: why?

Another reason is that female participation in the labor force has been declining. In January 2009, the female labor force participation rate was 59.4 percent. In September 2013, it was 57.1 percent.

And if the young people of America are uninterested in working or going to school, what makes anyone think they would be motivated to sign up for ObamaKare to the tune of, at minimum, $120 per month for an individual in perfect health?

Let’s see: perfect health.  $120 a month.  Dope or ecstasy or a new Wii or the new Grand Theft Auto or the new iPhone or iPad — vs paying for something unneeded?  Yeah.

Another fact: 11 million people will lose the healthcare they were promised by Mr Barack Hussein Obama.

Just today (very late Tuesday as I write this), 300,000 people in Florida lost their health plans and received cancellation notices.

ColoradoPeakPolitics states the obvious:

Under Obamacare you can stay on your parents’ insurance until you’re 26. But when you reach a year older, Obamacare is jacking up rates 140% for the average 27 year old in Colorado.

What happens when even Jon Stewart goes against you and your Youth Cause?

And what happened when Mr Obama, in an open press conference, told American Citizens to call a toll-free telephone number in lieu of signing up on https://www.healthcare.gov/ because the site wasn’t functional and ready for use?

And the fact that the Spanish-equivalent site isn’t even operational?  [Like I give a shit if a Spanish-speaking site isn’t functional. -BZ]

Obama Tells Americans to Enroll via Phone, Phone Number Crashes

As Americans become more and more perturbed over the Obamacare exchange website glitches that have crippled the rollout of President Obama’s signature program, President Obama took to the podium on Monday and suggested that Americans apply in person or via phone for enrollment in the Obamacare exchanges. “Nobody is madder than me about the fact that the website isn’t working as well as it should, which means it’s going to get fixed,” Obama said. He then recommended a toll-free phone number to call.

Uh-oh.  I think I see the next paragraph coming.

There was only one problem: the Obamcare toll-free phone number was overloaded and immediately crashed. According to Lou Dubois of NBC News, “Call centers now appear overloaded due to volume. ‘Please call back.’” Dubois wasn’t the only one reporting the new glitches. Annie Lowrey of The New York Times added, “For the record, just called 1-800-318-2596, got a busy signal.” Kasie Hunt of NBC News: “Just called the number. They said there’s too high call volume and call back on the weekend. ‘We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Goodbye.’”

Imagine that.

In LA, it costs $2,100 a day to put one person in a bed in an LA hospital.  A Medicaid patient costs a hospital $500 per day beyond that covered by the feds.

Further, the Evil Sean Hannity managed to sneak in:

After President Obama gave out the phone number for the official Obamacare registration hotline Monday morning, radio host Sean Hannity called in to speak with a human representative. In the ensuing conversation, the conservative host grilled a call operator, asking her questions about the glitchy Obamacare website before veering into awkward small talk about politics, talk radio, and snow in Florida.

Hannity complimented for the operator for being so polite and kind, but also asked her questions that could possibly put her job on the line: “Have you ever gotten anyone who really likes it yet?” he asked at another point. “Um, not really,” she admitted, sending the radio host into a fit of laughter.

The conversation later switched to small talk about her residence in Panama City, Fla. (Hannity loves it there, by the way), the weather in Florida versus New York, her non-registered voting status, and her lack of knowledge about Fox News or any major right-wing talk radio hosts.

And anyone of any sane lineage whatsoever could possibly wonder just why this economy is not recovering at all?
