Saudis offer Russia secret oil deal if it drops Syria

Saudi Arabia has secretly offered Russia a sweeping deal to control the global oil market and safeguard Russia’s gas contracts, if the Kremlin backs away from the Assad regime in Syria.

The revelations come amid high tension in the Middle East, with US, British, and French warship poised for missile strikes in Syria. Iran has threatened to retaliate.

The strategic jitters pushed Brent crude prices to a five-month high of $112 a barrel. “We are only one incident away from a serious oil spike. The market is a lot tighter than people think,” said Chris Skrebowski, editor of Petroleum Review.

Leaked transcripts of a closed-door meeting between Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan shed an extraordinary light on the hard-nosed Realpolitik of the two sides.

That said, where does it leave the United States? Hanging precariously? Promises of oil contracts denied? Broken?

Or does Saudi Arabia fear Russia — and its potential response — more than it fears the United States?

President Putin has long been pushing for a global gas cartel, issuing the `Moscow Declaration’ last to month “defend suppliers and resist unfair pressure”. This would entail beefing up the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), a talking shop.

Apparently, a clear Russian intervention if the US and/or other countries involve themselves in Syria.

The Putin-Bandar meeting was stormy, replete with warnings of a “dramatic turn” in Syria. Mr Putin was unmoved by the Saudi offer, though western pressure has escalated since then. “Our stance on Assad will never change. We believe that the Syrian regime is the best speaker on behalf of the Syrian people, and not those liver eaters,” he said, referring to footage showing a Jihadist rebel eating the heart and liver of a Syrian soldier.

Prince Bandar in turn warned that there can be “no escape from the military option” if Russia declines the olive branch. Events are unfolding exactly as he foretold.

US marshaling its forces for an incursion into Syria?

Apparently so.

As I am still in LE, I still have sources around the nation from the contacts I’ve made over the years, both in the civilian LE side and the military side. Those sources also occasionally have three letters.

Two of those persons are telling me that the US is silently marshaling its forces for a possible incursion into Syria. Special Forces are being alerted first.

UK media is already broadcasting this belief.

I remain unconvinced that American soldiers placed into Syria solve anything. And I remain unconvinced that many videos and photographs of this “gas attack” were not staged.

Just minutes ago I received some very sad news. Jesse Marcel, Jr. died of a heart attack on August 24.

Jesse Jr passed just a month after the 66th anniversary of the so-called Roswell crash. His father is pictured above.

Then, following the printing of the newspaper, all was retracted.

Roswell, for UFOlogists, is the predicating event that solidified UFOs into the American vernacular.

Oddly enough, my father indicated he was assigned to Roswell in 1949, though it was called Walker AFB in 1941 and post-war as Roswell Army Air Field.

During the early years of the Cold War, it became the largest base of the Strategic Air Command, otherwise known as SAC. It is also known for the Roswell UFO incident, an event that supposedly happened on 4 July 1947. It is alleged that a “flying disk” crashed during a severe thunderstorm near the base at Corona, New Mexico.

I joked, in my father’s dotage, that his were the wing-tips in the background of various alien autopsy photographs. He never denied this.

He also never revealed to me his involvement in WWII or his flight records or his assignments except to mention B-17Gs in the 8th AF and B-25 Mitchells at Mather Air Field. He flew one type and then became an instructor in another in the states. He completed his 25 overseas and then moved back. He told me about Jimmy Doolittle and his B-25s at Mather and also about drinking with Jimmy Stewart. He married my mother whilst in Sacramento. Then introduced her to scorpions in Texas.

He survived. I wouldn’t be here otherwise.
