Imagine that. Taxes are an actual issue?

ALBANY – Escape from New York is not just a movie – it’s also a state of mind.
A new Marist College poll shows that 36% of New Yorkers under the age of 30 are planning to leave New York within the next five years – and more than a quarter of all adults are planning to bolt the Empire State.
The New York City suburbs, with their high property values and taxes, are leading the exodus, the poll found.
Of those preparing to leave, 62% cite economic reasons like cost of living, taxes – and a lack of jobs.
“A lot of people are questioning the affordability of the state,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.
An additional 38% cite climate, quality of life, overcrowding, a desire to be closer to family, retirement or schools.
Overcrowding? Really? Isn’t it true that one primary goal of Leftists is to squeeze, crush and collapse as many persons as possible into as minimal a “footprint” as possible, in order to minimize the “impact” upon the environment?
Would that explain Chicago? Would that explain Carbrini Greens? Would that explain the total disintegration of Detroit? So it comes as a complete and total surprise that people don’t want to live cheek-by-jowl with each other?

And isn’t it quite odd that, while FEMA ignores Texas and its MILLION-ACRE + wildfires (as pointed out here by TexasFred), your federal government somehow found it within itself to send men and planes to Mexico in order to fight their wildfires just last month:

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) — Two specially equipped U.S. Air Force cargo planes left Colorado on Saturday to help battle wildfires in northern Mexico.

The C-130s were requested by the Mexican government and the U.S. State Department, a U.S. Northern Command spokesman said.

The planes can spray about 3,000 gallons of fire retardant in a matter of seconds from a system of pressurized tanks called Modular Aerial Fire Fighting System or MAFFS.

The MAFFS is designed for the cargo bay of a C-130.

The planes heading to Mexico are based at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., and are assigned to the Air Force Reserve’s 302nd Airlift Wing.

The fires have burned about 386 square miles in Mexico near the Texas border. Mexico has already deployed 1,000 personnel, nine helicopters and two small planes.

This is, in my opinion, a purposeful placing of Texas on FIM (Federal Ignore Mode) because Texas dared to suggest secession and, further, is one of the most successful states in the union because it refuses to dance to the federal government string-pullers. Texas remains strong, is actively fighting most Leftist bastards, and is the recipient of businesses fleeing overbearing, over-regulating, over-taxing Leftist states such as — imagine that — Fornicalia.

I’ll go you one further:

There are elements in Tucson, Arizona — RACIST “Mexican-American” elements — that are advocating secession for racial reasons only. Muera el invasor!

“That Fence Is Now Basically Complete”

No, it’s not.

You LIE, Mr Obama.

This isn’t just a little lie. This is a massive lie. Back in 2005 the fence was proposed to run about 700 miles. 370 miles were later proposed. 700 miles of physical barriers were proposed. The virtual fence was suspended on March 16th of 2010. Therefore you cannot have comprehensive immigration reform. Again, see this GAO report.

Tucson, Phoenix, El Paso, are the safest cities in America. Everything is just fine. No.

There are PSAs (public service announcements) on AM radio station KCBQ (San Diego) that indicate what you’re to do when (not if) you receive an extortion telephone call from Mexicans.

Gas Pricing – A Little History For The Leftists Amongst You

Does Mr Obama still feel our pain?
I suspect not. Rather, I know he doesn’t. And he couldn’t care less because, after all, he’s exempt. In fact, he thinks we need higher gas prices.

The pinnacle of hypocrisy: when gas prices rise under GW Bush (and not nearly as high as now), then that = BAD. When gas prices rise under Obama, then that = well, these things can be ameliorated and, truly, it might not be so bad for us anyway.
