From CNSNews.com:
Our own government has become our enemy and is taking us to court at a time when we need help,” Babeu said.
Pinal County (Ariz.) Sheriff Paul Babeu is hopping mad at the federal government.
Babeu told CNSNews.com that rather than helping law enforcement in Arizona stop the hundreds of thousands of people who come into the United States illegally over its southern border in Arizona, the federal government is targeting the state and its law enforcement personnel.
“What’s very troubling is the fact that at a time when we in law enforcement and our state need help from the federal government, instead of sending help they put up billboard-size signs warning our citizens to stay out of the desert in my county because of dangerous drug and human smuggling and weapons and bandits and all these other things and then behind that they drag us into court with the ACLU,” Babeu said.
The sheriff is referring to the lawsuits filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Department of Justice challenging the state’s new immigration law.
“So who has partnered with the ACLU?” Babeu said in a telephone interview with CNSNews.com. “It’s the president and (Attorney General) Eric Holder himself. And that’s simply outrageous.”
Sheriff Babeau speaks the simple truth.
And Demorat Pete Stark speaks the truth when he states “the federal government can do most anything in this country.”
You think about that statement and the above video for a moment.
Sometimes I cannot help but wonder, when I am particularly frustrated, why we’re still at the stage of polite discourse in this country.
Again: November will be the tipping point, the fulcrum, in this nation’s entire history.

UPDATE:
Word indicates that the federal government, additionally, is beginning to marshal its forces and will apply them against one police officer in Arizona in order to emphasize its point of “hands off illegal immigrants.”
I should also care to point out that support is being solicited at BorderSheriffs.com — where you may donate in support of Arizona sheriff’s sued by the ACLU. Please visit and donate if you can!
FURTHER:
From GlobalGrind.com:
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, whose lawsuit against health care reform moved forward Monday, has ruled that his state’s law enforcement officials can ask to check the immigration status of anyone they arrest or even stop.
Cuccinelli’s legal opinion, written in response to a conservative state delegate’s request, could expand on a 2008 Virginia law requiring police to check the legal status of anyone taken into custody on suspicion of having committed a crime.
Can anyone say something similar to “the pushback has begun“?
