The Debate? The Truth?
Think back to the 2006 elections – what happened? Let’s reflect:
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high — 14,000 +
5) American’s were buying new cars,taking cruises,vacations overseas, etc
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing;
3) Unemployment is up to 6.1% (a 10% + increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices are still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) As I write, the Dow is probing another low – $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS has EVAPORATED from the stocks, bonds and mutual funds investment portfolios.
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE — and America certainly received it.
ACORN:
LAS VEGAS – Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.
A Nevada secretary of state’s office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of CommunityOrganizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.
No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.
Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.

Frustrated because he didn’t have the power to expel out-of-control musicians from the student-run band, Slabaugh took the unusual step of filing a sexual harassment complaint with the university in May.
The Cal Aggie band is a “hostile work environment,” he wrote.
Members of the band’s leadership council declined to be interviewed for this story.
“I’m not really willing to talk about anything anyone has done,” one said.
Meanwhile, Slabaugh is on stress leave (my emphasis – BZ) and unavailable for comment, said his lawyer, Chad Carlock.
