Erratic In Crisis?

Branding his opponent as “erratic in a crisis,” Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is preempting plans by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to portray him as having sinister connections to controversial Chicagoans.

Obama officials call it political jujitsu – turning the attacks back on the attacker.

Erratic in crisis??

And precisely what crisis has Barack Hussein Obama ever handled at all, much less been “erratic” in its handling? Just when McCain stated he’d go back to Washington to address the economic crisis and temporarily suspended the debate — Obama’s response was: “If I’m wanted, I guess they’ll contact me.”

My. Such sterling leadership.

America Diverted: Defanged For The World

“Old” news but applicable: As America’s attention stands diverted on any number of issues — to include the economy, the Presidential race, Clay Aiken — Russia decides it’s time for a power display in the Caribbean, literally in America’s backyard. This is nothing more than Putin’s Force Projection, showing us the tip of the Soviet spear. Sabre-rattling, if you will.

In an article documenting same, from the UK Times Online:

Russia flexed its muscles in America’s backyard yesterday as it sent one of its largest warships to join military exercises in the Caribbean. The nuclear-powered flagship Peter the Great set off for Venezuela with the submarine destroyer Admiral Chabanenko and two support vessels in the first Russian naval mission in Latin America since the end of the Cold War.

“The St Andrew flag, the flag of the Russian Navy, is confidently returning to the world oceans,” Igor Dygalo, a spokesman for the Russian Navy, said. He declined to comment on Russian newspaper reports that nuclear submarines were also part of the expedition.

The voyage to join the Venezuelan Navy for manoeuvres came only days after Russian strategic nuclear bombers made their first visit to the country. Hugo Chávez, the President, said then that the arrival of the strike force was a warning to the US. The vehemently antiAmerican Venezuelan leader is due to visit Dmitri Medvedev, the Russian President, in Moscow this week as part of a tour that includes visits to Cuba and China.

Are you making the link? Russia and Venezuela? We continue NOT to drill for EVERY DAMNED BIT OF OIL ON OUR SOVEREIGN SOIL at our OWN PERIL.

And further, please click on the link to the article then scroll down to the bottom for comments. Here are the thoughts of so-called “enlightened” Liberals regarding America:

1. I wish to apologize to the world for the acts of our “leader”, Bush. We, the people of the U.S.A. have not had control of our government, for decades. We sat idley by, hands shackled, while Bush & friends have destroyed us. The US will fall due to it’s own devices, no help needed. Greed = US.
Laurie Mueller, Litchfield Park, USA
2. It makes me laugh to read some Americans. Your country’s economy is a chronic invalid not able to survive. Above all military spending has caused the collapse. Open your eyes and stare at what to be happening inside the USA.
Alexey, Moscow, Russia
3. Good! Its about time someone stood up to America. Id rather have an enemy that was clearly my enemy then have an enemy that pretended to protect democracy and export freedom.
Clive, UK, UK

This is the kind of mindset the United States fights not only domestically, not only in Western Cultures, but in those nations seeking our downfall.

As I wrote before, the entire world seeks the downfall or the lessening of America’s power at the world’s peril.

Another Reason She’s MY Wife

My honey is nothing if not highly intelligent, and she loves me with all her heart. What other wife would:
1. Purchase a Sig-Sauer P239 for her hubby as a birthday present;
2. Change her voter registration from Demorat to Republican this week.
Yes, that’s correct; my lovely wife, completely cognizant of the fact that the Electoral College plays a huge part in the presidential election, threw another registration for the GOP into the mix, and took a number away from the Demorats in the state of Fornicalia.

She admits she’s a neophyte when it comes to politics but has become, since she’s met and married me, more involved in her political surroundings than at any other time. I completely salute her for her epiphany and realization. And she freely admits she’s rolled this way due to her pointed opposition of the Obamessiah.

Further, she’s not completely taken with McCain but Sarah Palin resonates particularly. Imagine that. And she is quiet about this.

Think she just might be the real heartbeat Of America?

Once again, I am so proud of her. I love my honey with all my winkin’ little occluded heart.

Being The Past

As a registered Republican, I find myself — along with a percentage of my readers — predominantly disgusted with the Republican Party. It is one major reason I no longer contribute to the RNC and, instead, write checks solely to my local Conservative interests.

All politics is local.” -Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill

That in consideration, as my mind wanders this late Saturday night, the rain falling heavily outside, the first rain of my fall season — I reflect not only on John McCain’s current campaign but Republican politics for the, say, past eight years. And that is this:

Republicans won’t fight.

And I don’t know why.

This frustrates me, angers me, fills me with a sense of rage because, of those who know me, they realize I do not back down from a fight. I have no problem whatsoever with calling things as they are, with not becoming a doormat for the newest, hippest, most recent “thing.” I have no problem whatsoever utilizing the word “NO” in the strongest terms and backings possible.

If there’s one thing that I remember from my red-haired and -bearded high school Poli-Sci teacher at Fairmont East, Mr. Helms — and that history has reinforced election after election — it is this:

Democrats don’t win elections; Republicans lose them.

It was a truism then; it is a truism now.

I firmly believe this presidential election truly is McCain’s to win, if he would but pull out all the stops and go for the Demorat jugular. If he would but fight.

He’s already given up Michigan; that was a massive, massive, massive mistake. It set precedent; it sent verbal and non-verbal messages broadcast near and far, and that is this: I’m John McCain, and I won’t fight for what is mine.

Perhaps McCain thought that, because Detroit and, by extension, the entire state is unionized, it’s out of his hands.

I say: wrong. What Detroit workers want is consistency. Assurance. Remembrance. Not a bailout; they know they’re waaaaay down on the Food Chain. Just assurance that they’re not forgotten. That they “matter,” as Blue Collar workers, to the Republicans.

That, John, you’ll fight for them.

But you gave them up in a heartbeat.

Then, further, you sent Sarah Palin, the most fresh, the most energetic, the most nouveau and charismatic Republican to represent the party in years, to do battle with Joe Biden completely chained, fettered, restrained.

She “took one for the team” John, but she should never have to do that again. I, you, me, my readers, can all tell: she’s just waiting to be let loose. She’s more Conservative than you could ever hope to be. She knows it; you know it.

And still you keep her enslaved, chained, repressed.

I say this now, sir: to your own detriment and to the detriment of the entire electorate of this nation.

If you don’t come out swinging this next week, if you don’t take the fight right back to the Demorats, the MSM, the Defeatist Elitist Media, then you have essentially doomed Conservatism for many, many years to come.

The paradigm has changed; are you too old to recognize this? Is it pride? Is it a sense of misplaced decorum? Is it a sense of “gentlemen’s rules” five generations back? Is it a feeling of “they’ll play fair if I play fair” because — if you’re predicating your campaign upon anything even remotely resembling this philosophy — you’re “failing to plan” and, moreover, “planning to fail.”

Because there is NO restraint amongst the Demorats. No lie too bold. No half-truth not embraced. No courage allowed. No fact left untrampled.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” — Joseph Goebbels

This next week shall determine the entire election.

New To “The Usual Suspects”

Two new blogs I just have to place into my “The Usual Suspects” blogroll:

I dare not “out” myself because I would run the risk of being held hostage by liberals at some Ashram while being brainwashed with MultiCultural, Politically Correct, GroupThink Socialist -“isms” until I hollered “I’m Nancy Pelosi’s bitch,” begged for mercy and changed my party affiliation using a pen filled with my own blood.

Very recently onboard with Blogger, the PCC has been a pretty prolific blogger and, I must admit, that’s what keeps me engaged.

A small Blognote: As opposed to other bloggers who place links on their roll for seemingly little reason, the criteria for attachment to the BZ “The Usual Suspects” blogroll is this: I must be sufficiently engaged and entertained to actually read your blog, and you must post roughly once a day. Inactive or occasional blogs, unfortunately, don’t keep me interested and find themselves dropped.

Another note about Pasadena Closet Conservative: I am something of the devotee of the Engrish Rangruage. I appreciate a well-written blog with proper spelling, syntax, a sense of style. PCC has all this and more. Go there now. I particularly got a hoot out of the Green Party Update (is it just me, or does Cynthia McKinney look like an ugly Andre Braugher?). You won’t be disappointed!

Just an Average American getting sick and tired of our politicians caring more about being reelected than about us. It’s time for a change and I’m trying to come up with a way to make that change a reality. Please read my introduction to find out what this blog is for.

Hear, hear! Is that ever a thought that resonates!

TAA has been writing since February of 2008 and has any number of interesting graphics to his right sidebar. Well written, cogent, insightful.

Please, visit my two newest “The Usual Suspects” now.
