And you wonder why Conservatives HATE the GOP?

First Senate Appropriations Bill Passed Spends More Than Obama Requested

by Phillip Wegmann

The U.S. Senate’s first spending bill of 2016 spends more than President Barack Obama requested and lacks significant conservative amendments, but it still sailed to passage in the Republican-led Senate Thursday.

An overwhelming number of U.S. senators on both sides of the aisle approved the energy and water development appropriations bill by a vote of 90-8. Conservatives had objected to the higher spending levels and lack of policy riders in the weeks leading up to the vote.

In the end, it didn’t seem to matter.

Of course.  It never matters.  Not when consistent Republican jobs are on the line.  Jobs like those of, say, Mitch McConnell.  Paul Ryan.  Obama should get more cash than he originally requested because the GOP can’t wait to fellate His Imperial Member.

Leftists still mention the TEA Party.  The TEA Party died a few years ago.  It gets mentioned only by those who want to use it as a prop for power.  But the TEA Party has no power because it doesn’t exist as any form of cohesive unit today.  Leftists know this.  But they still utilize the phrase.  Because they have more balls than the GOP.

Moving legislation and avoiding fights has been a top election year priority for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The Kentucky Republican wants the GOP Senate to prove that Republicans can govern by avoiding a one-and-done omnibus spending package at the end of the year.

GOP InvertebrateRight.  #BecauseSpineless

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Alexander were the only Republicans to vote against the amendment. Neither responded to multiple comment requests by The Daily Signal.

“McConnell said the ‘Senate is open for business’ and if you’re a K Street lobbyist of Democrat interest group that’s definitely true,” the aide said. “But Harry Reid and the Democrats have made it abundantly clear that conservatives policies will not be tolerated in the appropriations process.”

Good to know that the GOP in DC continue to give the Demorats everything they want and then some.

GOP: learn a lesson from Trey Gowdy

Because you certainly won’t learn it from Bernie Sanders, and now you definitely won’t learn it from Jeb Bush.

When two Black Lives Matter imbeciles took over the podium of Bernie Sanders this past weekend in Seattle, they made Sanders appear the dithering fool.  Sanders is a pacificist and provided what I expected: a smidge of verbal pushback later.

Today, Jeb Bush received the same treatment from Black Lives Matter, and immediately ducked out with no further comment as though he had simply beamed off the stage.  Jeb Bush, where are your stones?  One thing about Trump: I do believe him when he said BLM wouldn’t be able to pull a stunt like that at any of his campaign stops.

On the other hand lies Trey Gowdy, whose tenacity is not unlike a Komodo Dragon/pit bull mix.

In the intervening three years since the Benghazi attack, Gowdy has hung on to the issue like the aforementioned Komodo Dragon.  He has not given up, no matter the pushback, rampant belittling by the MSM (what I term the American Media Maggots) and the flak from Demorats and Leftists on every level imaginable.

Gowdy said regarding Hillary Clinton and her server (and watch him shut down the CNN anchorette):

From MediaIte.com:

“Well, I read that statement, and it’s easier to read Egyptian hieroglyphics than it is to parse the words that her lawyer wrote in that statement,” he responded. “Wherever you see the phrase ‘on information and belief,’ that should be a blinking red light for you to be suspicious of it.”

No parsing, no equivocation by Gowdy: “I’m entitled to all of those records.”

Hillary vs PetraeusGowdy has hung on for years now.  And his courage and tenacity is paying off.

Yes.  “It’s about time.”

The GOP could and should take a page from the Gowdy Book of Spine.  His gumption, resolution, perseverance and downright bravery sets him clearly apart from the bulk of the Old Staid GOP.

Getting “Pelosi’d” by the GOP?

Remember old San Fran Nan and her quote about ObamaKare: “But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it”?

It would appear the GOP is doing the same thing.

Nancy Ryan ObamaTradeTake it away Paul Ryan:

From Breitbart.com:

Paul Ryan’s Pelosi-Esque Obamatrade Moment: ‘It’s Declassified And Made Public Once It’s Agreed To’

by Matthew Boyle

Chief Obamatrade proponent House Ways and Means Committee chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) admitted during Congressional testimony on Wednesday evening that despite tons of claims from him and other Obamatrade supporters to the contrary, the process is highly secretive.

He also made a gaffe in his House Rules Committee testimony on par with former Speaker

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) push to pass Obamacare, in which she said infamously said: “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

“It’s declassified and made public once it’s agreed to,” Ryan said of Obamatrade in Rules Committee testimony on Wednesday during questioning from Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX).

What Ryan is trying to convince House Republicans to do is vote for Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) which would fast-track at least three highly secretive trade deals—specifically the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA), and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP)—and potentially more deals.

Right now, TiSA and T-TIP text are completely secretive and unavailable for even members of Congress to read while TPP text is available for members to review—although they need to go to a secret room inside the Capitol where only members of Congress and certain staffers high-level security clearances, who can only go when members are present, can read the bill.

Why is it that, more so these days, so much of government business has to be conducted in a clandestine fashion?

Am I the only one who finds this turn of events disturbing?

Boehner caves on Obama’s amnesty

GOP InvertebrateNo more “plain and simple” than that.

From the WashingtonPost.com:

House passes bill to fully fund Homeland Security

by Sean Sullivan

The House passed a bill Tuesday afternoon to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the rest of the fiscal year, sending it to President Obama for his expected signature. The measure will not target Obama’s executive actions on immigration, giving Democrats what they have long demanded and potentially enraging conservatives bent on fighting the president on immigration.

The vote was 257-167, with some Republicans joining all Democrats who voted to pass the bill, which had already cleared the Senate.

Gosh, what did Boehner say once the GOP had the House and the Senate?  Something similar to “we won’t let amnesty pass”?  Or words to that effect?

Boehner caved.  The GOP caved.

My, the GOP winning both the House and Senate, that was truly a wonderful thing, was it not?  How the GOP would now swoop in and right wrongs?

I wrote quite some years ago about the GOP, and I repeat: “the best predictor of future behavior is past performance, or the lack thereof.”
