10 Most Likely To Default Governments:

O joyous day; Fornicalia is right up there at number eight (thanks Greybeard — I think):

Fornicalia itself crows about being the eighth largest economy in the world; now it can take solace in the fact that it’s the eighth most likely to tank, along with other Communist, Fascist and Dictatorist regimes. Its GDP is still twice that of the next-ranked state, Texas, and it produces 13% of the GDP of the entire United States — so take solace, those who wish Fornicalia to completely fail. We’ll help to bring down your state as well, when we fall.

My brother’s wife told me once how she, as a social services monitor, would tell Nevadans on welfare that, if they didn’t care for their “low” checks, they should go to Fornicalia. Some in the Nevada government even bought bus tickets for these people in order to clear their welfare rolls. Guess what’s comin’ back at’cha, Nevada?

Thanks so much for this, Demorats. You assholes.

The Free Cheese Paradigm is not working; never has and never will.

Alexander Fraser Tyler – Cycle of Democracy (1770) – A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over poor fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average of the world’s great civilizations before they decline has been 200 years. These nations have progressed in this sequence:

– From bondage to spiritual faith;
– from faith to great courage;
– from courage to liberty;
– from liberty to abundance;
– from abundance to selfishness;
– from selfishness to Complacency;
– from complacency to apathy;
– from apathy to dependency;
– from dependency back again to bondage.

So where, this this cycle, do you think we are now as a nation?

We not only fail to learn anything from history, we fail to recognize what is happening, in other countries, under our very nose, in front of our very eyes.

P.S.
And certainly no props to you, Republicans, who failed to stand your ground firmly and acquiesced on an endless conga line of Free Cheese bills.

  1. Things seem to be getting ugly in the US, sort of a civil war without guns or war. People taking sides based on values and beliefs. Much media has taken sides already and I’m not sure politicians really understand the people that voted them in, the willingness now to stand up for what we believe.

  2. Debbie, there is a crush coming, a revolution and, as I’ve said before, I don’t know if it will take the form of refusal on the part of The People, or whether it will present as an actual physical insurrection.

    But the summit is coming; the fork in the road. We’ll come about smartly, or we’ll smash alongside the iceberg.

  3. what’s really weird is how little we hear here about California and its economic pending disaster.
    Arnold’s just tried to ban ALL WELFARE..this, I’d love to see !

  4. BZ,
    I fear we’re very close to the end. With Obama and his boys in charge we will death march right to total dependency on government and then off the cliff. There seems to be little time to save ourselves.
