Week 11 — Go Packers!

It’s week 11 in the NFL and my Green Bay Packers are kicking division ass! They also handed the Carolina Panthers a pretty decent defeat today (31 – 7), and went into the half with a 21 – 3 lead! It didn’t hurt that the Pack was playing at Lambeau.

I have to hand it to Vinny Testaverde, however, who threw two late-game TD passes for the Panthers — Vinny being the oldest quarterback in the NFL.

Consider: Brett Favre is the third oldest QB on an NFL roster this year. From PackersNews.com:

At 44, Testaverde is by far the oldest active quarterback in the NFL, ahead of 39-year-old Brad Johnson, the Dallas Cowboys’ backup. Favre is next at 38, followed by New Orleans backup Jamie Martin (37), Tampa Bay starter Jeff Garcia (37) and Washington backup Mark Brunell (37).

The oldest regular starters this year are Favre, Garcia and Arizona’s Kurt Warner (36).

And folks, Favre is KATN this season! Way to go, Packers!

And yes, I do have a cheesehead.

  1. Damn, that’s right BZ, just rub it in…
GB played a good game don’t get me wrong, but the competition was lacking…

We got our 3 best out and have been for a while:
    Jake Delhome
    Steve Smith
    Dan Morgan
Not to mention 2 offensive linemen.
and David Carr got hurt too…

Hell if we didn’t have ol Testaverde with us (3 weeks) we’d have to suit up Terry Bradshaw or something….

Our season was all but done when Delhome went out, then Smith went down and the nail in the proverbial coffin was set.

My memory of this season will be of the Cardinal game (everything before and after I will choose to block) LOL

    Congrats on your teams victory…

  2. Bush: darn, dude, I didn’t think the Panthers were YOUR guys. I would have thought maybe Raiders or 9ers or something on the west coast. But good to know. Tell you what, Testaverde playing just tells me volumes about that guy: 44 years old and still “in the game.” That’s pretty damned amazing. The Oakland Raiders’ George Blanda both passed and kicked for the Raiders from 1967 to 1975, retiring at the age of 48!

Jenn: No. You must not loathe me. You must not. I repeat: you must NOT loathe me. Look into my eyes: “I do not loathe the Bloviating Zeppelin, I do not loathe the Bloviating Zeppelin, I do NOT loathe the Bloviating Zeppelin.”

    P.S.
And why would you want to, anyway?

  3. Uh BZ, remember the post I made after our trip to see them play in Phoenix?
That should have given you a clue. LOL

The west coast is where I am now, but my heart is still in NC, and God willing I’ll get back there one day.

I spent a long time in NC, They didn’t have a team then, we were all NC tarheel fans but never really had much to cheer about. Except when they played NC State…

Before NC got a team I was an Atlanta fan. I switched when the Panthers came into the league.

  4. LMAO, well for us NFL fans back in that day, we had few choices for a home team, it was Washington or Atlanta… I chose Atlanta because I did like the Braves, Hank Aaron was playing for them then.

Damn that was a long time ago.

  5. Do you suppose Buffalo is hurting just a little bit??

    New England 56 – Buffalo 10

Not that I care about either team, it’s just that I hate to make fun of the Panthers what with Bushwack being so sensitive and all… LMAO
