What We Want

What we want and what we need are sometimes two entirely different things.

If you can recall, following WJ Clinton’s 1991 inauguration, his “other half” attempted to instigate national Health Care at the federal level behind closed doors. This bulky and besotted attempt fell in flames on any number of levels not the least to include its ponderosity.

Come the 2008 elections Democrats may again attempt to create a national health care plan “for the masses.”

Anything having to do with “the masses” I find myself primarily opposed, with some exceptions.

The Demoncats want national health care.

The Republicans do not. And I do not; but for one major fundamental reason.

It’s not “the money”; it’s the so-called “efficacy” of government.

NOT.

Checked the newspapers or internet lately about how the federal government is running Walter Reed Hospital for our SOLDIERS? Generals fired? Ring a bell? Our military personnel should be the last persons to be screwed over and, yet, apparently they are the first in line to be screwed medically at our FEDERALLY-FUNDED hospitals. And this is only one federally-funded hospital in the news. What about the others?

Anyone see any kind of correlation? And what’s that saying? “The best predictor of future actions are past actions”?

  1. Most social programs that are for “the masses” are infested with corruption and inefficiency. Healthcare would be no different. Shrillary’s plan was laughable at best, but any plan would be. The Brits seem to have a halfway decent method, but they don’t have the bueaucratic problems that we do either (or at least, not to the extent that we do).

The whole mess seems like a lose/lose situation.

  2. Gunny: to me this situation is geometrically more egegious because we are dealing with SOLDIERS for God’s sake, those who came back after having SACRIFICED for their COUNTRY. And this is how we repay their blood and courage? This is so far beyond shameful that I am at a loss for a further descriptors.

  3. Those who are just DYING for Government to run their lives: your Government couldn’t manage their way out of the proverbial Paper Bag.

Oh you just go right ahead: PLACE YOUR FAITH IN GOVERNMENT.

I suppose that’s what your lobotomy insists upon.

  4. Congress cannot even do the duties that it gets under the Constitution and then members *complain* that the Executive isn’t doing the things that Congress hasn’t paid for… But that does not stop the pork fest!

But then Congress says we are not *sacrificing* for warfare, while then merrily spending on many, many, many other things EXCEPT for the stores, supplies, spares, equipment, and keeping the military hospitals up to snuff.

Oh, where is the sacrifice, oh Incompetent Congress?

Wherefore art thou, those that should employ the budget to defend the Nation?

Are ye lost in the wilderness?

Perhaps Congress should send out an SOS….
