Michelle Obama: We’re Coming For Your 2nd

And thanks for the clear warning, I say.

At a recent fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election campaign in Providence, Rhode Island, the first lady told her audience:

“We stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in just 13 months, we’re going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come … let’s not forget what it meant when my husband appointed those two brilliant Supreme Court justices … let’s not forget the impact that their decisions will have on our lives for decades to come.”

Those two “brilliant Supreme Court justices” refer to Elena Kagan (replaced John Paul Stevens in 2010, no loss) and Sonia Sotomayor (replaced David Souter in 2009, no loss).
The only clear and rational interpretation for that is this: we’re coming for your Freedoms, we’re coming for your 2nd Amendment and we’ve made great inroads on eliminating portions of the 4th, 5th and 14th.
The point of my Monday post is this:
Should Mr Obama win a second term, you can be guaranteed — repeat, guaranteed — that he will be able to make a third appointment or possibly even a fourth SCOTUS appointment and, absent a complete and overwhelming takeover of both the House and Senate (not likely), his choice(s) will be Leftist in nature with a philosophical bent not in keeping with the traditional US Constitution but individuals who believe in a “living, breathing Constitution” that is “informed” on not only national precedents, but “global” precedents and “needs” as well.
You can take that to the bank, what’s left of it.

When Americans flock to the polls in 13 months, we will not simply decide which direction our country should take over the next four years. Rather, we will decide whether or not our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms will survive over the next several decades.

Currently, the Second Amendment clings to a 5-4 pro-freedom majority on the Supreme Court. Just one vote is all that stands between the America our Founding Fathers established and a radically different America that Barack Obama and his supporters envision.

If you want to read something scary, take another look at the minority opinions in the Supreme Court’s landmark Heller and McDonald decisions that struck down Washington, D.C.’s and Chicago’s unconstitutional gun bans. In the Heller dissent, four justices concluded that the Second Amendment does not guarantee an individual right to own a firearm, nor does it protect our right to defend ourselves, our families, or our property. In McDonald, the same four justices argued that the 5-4 Heller decision should be reversed.

And if that isn’t sufficiently frightening for you, ladies and gentlemen, then I give up hope for this nation.

  1. Very scarey here regarding Supreme Court Judgeship’s.
    Socialist judges are against our Constitution.
    A socialist president appoints all socialists like his own communist beliefs.
    Why is this so hard for the citizens of the USA to understand this!!
    Could it be that our population has been diluted by all these “new” poverty voters, that their vote will cost the USA to lose it’s own independence.
    Is the USA going down the tubes like Southern California already has??
    Sounds like gloom and doom, and this means this up-coming Presidential election is that important,, that Barak Obama be defeated.
    Amen brother.

  4. Precisely correct. I posted this little tid-bit on my Facebook wall.

    If you vote for Obama, you are voting for abortion and partial-birth abortion (death to millions of babies.) If you vote for Obama you are supporting a socialist, if you vote for Obama you are in favor of government control and possibly run by a dictator, if you vote for Obama you support a man who enjoys stomping on the Constitution of the United States, if you vote for Obama you are in favor of cutting military defenses. Think about it.

    We cannot afford another four years with Obama at the reigns, because it would mean the death of freedom and liberty.

  5. It’s no shock to anyone watching SCOTUS that some of the MOST critical decisions recently opined come down to a 5 to 4 tally.

    Really? REALLY?? Are you frakking kidding me? FOUR justices on SCOTUS do NOT believe in the Second Amendment?

    And there, ladies and gentlemen, is your Current America. Even four SCOTUS jurists can’t be convinced that the US Constitution is valid.

    THAT is the frightening aspect here.
