Asthmatics: Barack HUSSEIN Obama is here to help!

The Obaka Administration wishes to ban asthma inhalers because they destroy the ozone layer in a completely profligate manner!

From DougRoss:

Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma, they end up taking up a hospital bed, it costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early and they got some treatment, and a breathalyzer, or inhalator, not a breathalyzer. I haven’t had much sleep in the last 48 hours.”
–Barack Obama, 9 October 2008

Wonderful news from the environmental do-gooders in Washington: the Obama administration is poised to ban over-the-counter breathalyzers, I mean inhalators, I mean inhalers in order to save the ozone layer.

Further:

Remember how Obama recently waived new ozone regulations at the EPA because they were too costly? Well, it seems that the Obama administration would rather make people with Asthma cough up money than let them make a surely inconsequential contribution to depleting the ozone layer:

Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government’s latest attempt to protect the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.

The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.

But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.

Ladies and gentlemen, how wonderful is that?

Because, clearly, men, women and children need to be sacrificed on the Altar of ObakaKare in order to bring the point across.

Let the hoarding of inhalers commence!

I swoon at their intuition, insight and intelligence!

Your Demorat/Leftist assholes at work.

  1. I have an asthmatic grandson… This will affect him, along with countless others..

And I am seeing a rapid decline in the quality of care I receive from my doctors at Baylor Senior Health Care in Mesquite, TX.

It seems that the CANCER called Obama has permeated this entire nation.

  2. Just how the F### do they think it hurts the environment? What part of “INHALE” do they not understand? The shit goes in my lungs, not in the air. Frigging geniuses aren’t they.

Now I have to figure out what I’ll do for inhalers when this batch I just bought runs out, sometime in 2014.

  3. If you have ever had a child with asthma problems, well you know how terrifying it can be.
Obongo only understands what his monkey handlers tell him to do.
Sometimes they have to actually “demonstrate” so he can copy.

Vote Conservative this coming election, and get this last 4 year cartoon over with.

  4. Little doubt that the followers of “Mother Earth” have the presidents ear. BZ, I wonder when they will ban “Farts” or foods that help generate those “Natural Gases”! If you like Beans stock up on them now! Seriously, during my many years I seen groups like “Radical Environmentalist” in action—first their demands are small, but as time progresses and they see some success the demands grow and grow and their hunger is never satisified.

  5. Oh, my GOSH, BZ..that’s TERRIBLE! There are so many people who use inhalers and it takes a while to find just the right one and now THIS?
    ARE THEY NUTS?

Oh, BZ…I think our country is SO LOSING IT..and who would have thought he’d ruin us this fast?

  6. This news is pretty old. CFC regulation began in the late 70’s. And lets be clear, the ban is on the propellant, not the drug. Don’t you think that the pharmaceutical companies will just use a different propellant? They haven’t done it so far because they haven’t had to, but believe me, they will still want their piece of the pie. Personally, as someone with asthma, I don’t want to be inhaling cfcs.

  7. HFA-134a is what my inhaler uses for propellant. Studies have proven that this propellant is safe, and I can vouch for it’s effectiveness as a propellant, as I use it everyday in my inhaler and have been for several years.

It’s unfortunate that the company which makes Primatene Mist did not choose to replace their CFC propellant with HFA, and instead decided to drop it from the market, but they had more than 3 years to make the switch. Not that it is a great loss in my opinion, since Primatene Mist uses epinephrine (i.e. adrenaline), and was more than twice the cost of my albuterol inhaler, which I get from Walmert for $10 without insurance. It contains 200 doses.
