Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman-v-Superman-Dawn-of-JusticeMovie summary:

Too long.  Too loud.  Too dark.  Took itself too seriously.

Not fun, endless CG, ludicrous story line, and some odd monster thrown in at the end because the creators clearly ran out of ideas.

Save your money.

  1. I have to say:

I am mostly DONE with CG.

It is false, it is an artifice, it is a crutch, and somehow instead of getting better it would appear that CG is instead getting WORSE.

The trailers for the movie WARCRAFT are embarrassingly POOR in terms of computer graphics, for example.

CG is a crutch. But a shockingly-expensive crutch by those whose brains can’t conceive of trying to create a movie without going unrealistic.

CG is a crutch. The REAL challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to create characters and situations and backgrounds in REAL TIME.

Instead of getting better, I submit that CG is getting worse.

Movies need to focus more internally, rather than externally.

Give us an actual SCRIPT and a STORY, instead of pablum BULLSHIT.

Give us characters we actually give a SHIT about. Make us more, rather than LESS, human.

  2. BZ, some of this movie was filmed here near us. Thanks for the review, as we were thinking about watching it. I couldn’t agree more with your assessment on movies overusing everything but good acting. Cool Hand Luke is a good example of a great show with 0 use of computer effects.

Watch for a show coming out called Transpecos. Let me know what you think. Should be out this Fall.

  3. A time consuming and awesomely written response, and it said it looked like spam and deleted it….argh. No pearls of wisdom from me on this subject, it was too much to write it again. ARGHHHHH.

    • I hate that — to the point where sometimes I’ll write a comment or a post in Word, then copy and paste it later into a place — just in case it “goes away.”
